Our stay at your cabin was very pleasant and relaxing over all. The cabin was clean and in very good repair. It was very pleasant early fall weather. The landscaping was not finished and the folks that have the property just east of the cabin are working on there property so the outside was some what in disarray but not bad. When you and your neighbors finish it will be very nice. Fishing in the lake was very disappointing as there was not much lake left. The water level was very low, so low that there is a ten foot wide mud mote around most of the lake. We would have tried to use the canoe but were not able to find it. It is also very confusing as to where we could have access to the lake with out crossing other owner’s property. This cabin is most definitely off of the beaten path. And in the winter I could see it might be a little of a challenge to get to depending on how the roads are plowed. In the winter you would most definitely want a 4X4 to get in and out but the rest of the year a car would do just fine. It is about an hours drive to west Yellowstone or Jackson Hole from Ashton but the drive is beautiful and we enjoyed the adventure. If you get a chance make arrangements to go to the Bar-J chuck wagon dinner show in Jackson Hole, lots of fun. We did have some cell phone reception but no TV or internet (this is a good thing) so my kids were forced to go out and explore. There is a very small television and DVD player that was nice for the evenings. The only real complaint was that it who ever stayed there before us left there trash in the fire pit. It was very, very, (I can not describe adequately hear how bad this trash was we had to triple bag it) nasty stuff and not wanting to get dinged for it we loaded it up and hauled it off. Whoever comes by between visitors should have taken care of it so we did not have to.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children.
