Why the Owner Chose Sylva
Our cabin is not in a tourist area, but actually in a "locals" area. This provides a very private, quiet environment. Close enough but far away...
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
79 Big Rock is tucked away on the side of a mountain at 4000 ft., with state forest land just over the ridge. In the summer enjoy cool days with highs in the mid 70's and lows in the 50's. In the winter months the covered hot tub is a fabulous place to relax and listen to the wind roar through the valley.

My wife and I were born and raised in sunny South Florida, but have been drawn to the mountains of Western North Carolina. Mountain life is incredible and we enjoy the opportunity to relax and unwind. Life is about balance and a stay at our quiet place in the woods is guaranteed to put you back in balance. Our cabin location is off the beaten path and provides us and our guests with a "local" feel and a quiet and restful getaway.

Just a note to say thanks again for the cabin rental. The cabin was lovely and was so comfortable. We so enjoyed sitting on the rockers each morning reading, having breakfast and watching the three humming birds. The views were beautiful and so peaceful and relaxing. Our daughter loved making s'mores in the fire pit and the hot tub was fabulous after a long day of exploring the waterfalls and other attractions. We had such a wonderful time just being together as a family and laughing and enjoying each other. Once again, thank you so much!

Cute little cottage that is definitely in the woods! A bit of challenge to find in the dark, but the location (half way between Dillsboro and Franklin) was perfect for exploring Western NC. Cottage was as described with good central heat, plenty of kitchen utensils, and tidy. Two minor exceptions: the hot tub was not cleaned so we couldn't use it and a minor note about the washing machine. It is a small compact washer so if you are staying with kids and need to wash much, keep that in mind. We would stay here again and the price really can't be beat.
Owner response:The hot tub issue has been resolved and we make sure that the water is changed after each guest! In an effort to keep costs low, this feature is now an option, the regular rental fee does not include use of the hot tub, however for $10 per day ( based on weekly rental) the hot tub will be filled and balanced with chemicals,ready to use for your stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your cabin. It was the perfect setting for our honeymoom -- relaxing, yet close enough to all the fun stuff to do in western North Carolina. We loved the setting. It was very cozy. We would love to stay there again in the future. Thanks!
