The charm, coziness and convenient location of Tea Tree Cottage was exceeded only by the warm hospitality of the owners, Michael and Kimberly. We felt like family and were so impressed with the cleanliness of the cottage and how well appointed it was with everything we needed for a relaxing, carefree stay. This was our first time renting a house rather than staying at a hotel, and it truly gave us a sense of living the Carmel "experience" rather than just visiting. The newly installed WiFi was a pleasant surprise. Hubby and I, the two granddaughters, and the two dogs thank you for everything.

Absolutely loved our stay in this charming little home away from home. The cottage contained everything you need and more!!!. It was very clean and cozy. Michael the owner was very helpful and welcoming and could not be a better host. The yard was perfect for our Golden Retriever to run around and search for smells. The plants and flowers in the yard were beautiful. The deck is a great place to sit, read, eat and bird watch. The beach in Carmel is dog friendly and our dog absolutely loved walking down to it and playing in the sand and water. If you are planning to visit Carmel, by all means check out this awesome little home away from home!!

One: find a great place to visit. You cannot go wrong in Carmel. The Walt Disney people could not have made a finer little town. Be sure to visit the Carmel Drugstore on Ocean Ave, it's a treasure! Two: find a great place to stay. Tea Tree Cottage fills the bill. It's charming, inside and out. Plenty of room for you and the kids. And the dog or cat. The kitchen has better pots than I have at home, and the deck is the perfect place to relax in the afternoon with a bottle of wine, a book, and something to snack on. Initially, we were only going to stay three nights, but I am so glad we booked another night. Read the other reviews, you cannot go wrong at Tea Tree Cottage. Mike, Kimberly, thanks for making this the best Spring Break ever!

Michael and Kimberly – We are so glad we found your lovely cottage – a quiet and cozy escape from Monterey Car Weeks. We immediately felt right at home. The fully-equipped and well-stocked kitchen had everything we needed for a quiet dinner or cocktails and nibbles with friends. The deck is the perfect place for a spontaneous barbeque or just enjoying a good book in the sunshine. We loved watching hummingbirds outside the dining room window and the entertaining woodpeckers and jays arguing over the feeder in the gorgeous tea trees. All your thoughtful touches are what make this such a special place. Thank you for being the perfect hosts – we had a wonderful two weeks and are excited to be able to return again next year to the Tea Tree Cottage.

I surprised my wife with an annivesary trip to Carmel, and we were delighted with the accomodations at Tea Tree Cottage. Michael & Kim maintain a charming, cozy, well cared for home. They were terrific hosts who made our fist stay in Carmel one to remember. I hae already recommended Teatree Cottage to several of my friends with small children for their California Coastal Mission tours, and we are hoping to bring family from the midwest this holiday season. We look forward to regular retreats to this lovely home!

We loved our stay although too short, the cottage immediately felt welcoming as did Michael. The place is quaint with all the amenities needed during your stay. Our dogs enjoyed running around the yard and enjoyed our strolls on the beach and in town. We definitely would recommend this place and would like to stay again in the near future. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your home

This is the perfect place in Carmel. A quiet neighborhood, but not too far from restaurants, beach and shops. The property is very well maintained and has everything you can think of, and Michael is the perfect host, we instantly felt like home. Another good thing is the fenced in yard, so our dog enjoyed it very much, too. Thanks Kim and Mike for making your home available.

If you are looking for a 2 bedroom, one bath with kitchen in Carmel, this is your place. It fulfilled all of our expectations, plus. Very well appointed. In town and in a quiet neighborhood, it is the perfect place to launch your visit to Carmel. Within walking distance to every thing. Even though in early March we had lightning, thunder, hail and downpours, Tea Tree Cottage was warm and cheerful. It is much larger than it apprears in the photos, and very comfortable. Michael is the perfect host to get you oriented. Can't wait to return.

We spent a few days over Christmas at Tea Tree Cottage. We had a wonderful experience at this property and would return in a heartbeat! It is a cozy and quiet place punctuated with the visits of a variety of birds. We were a family of 4 and the twin beds in the second guest room were ideal. Christmas dinner was made in the superbly equipped kitchen. We were very impressed with the quality and variety of kitchen implements and utensils. Another point for prospective renters: you should know that Mike and Kimberly were forthright and honest with us with regard to the deposits and were prompt with the return of the security deposit. In toto, it was a wonderful experience. We shall return! Thank you Mike and Kimberly.

We cannot say enough kind things about this property. Our stay was outstanding. Beautiful Cabin, inside & out. Quiet neighborhood. Close to shopping (approx 7 min walk). Close to ocean (approx 20 min walk). Pet friendly (entire property is fenced, front & back yard quite large by Carmel standards). Property owner very helpful & truly nice people. We look foreward to our next stay (hopefully this spring or summer).

Mike, Thanks for such a great retreat! My wife and I love your getaway in Carmel, and particularly enjoyed the easy walk downtown to the great restaurants and galleries. We often have gone to Carmel as a weekend retreat from Bay Area madness. Since finding your charming cottage, we now have an even better option with a great kitchen on a accessible and quiet street. It is a well appointed space and very comfortable. Many neighborhoods have become modern overbuilt homes that are often vacant on vacant streets. We loved that your place still feels like old Carmel, with the neighboring homes being occupied and kept in the more historic manner. Thanks again we will return soon.

We visit Carmel each spring and fall, and relish every memory. Our two goldendoodles love the beach and we have always stayed at the Cypress Inn. We decided to try a home rental instead this year, found the Tea Tree Cottage and we're hooked. It's comfortable and cozy with all the amenities. The deck is so relaxing and warm out of the wind. When the temperature drops and heating system warms the house in a jiffy. The yard is perfect for dogs, a nice enclosure and Michael has it set up so the pups can make a circle around the yard. The Tea Tree Cottage lets you feel like a local but still enjoy all the tourist benefits of Carmel. We'll be back again!

My wife and I were looking for a romantic getaway for our 16th anniversary and didn't want to book your average standard hotel room so we decided to go online and check things out. We spent our 1st romantic evening when we were dating in Carmel by the Sea so we figured it would be great place to revisit. A friend of ours recommended checking out Vacation Rentals By Owner website and that's how we found "The Tea Tree Cottage" We have never booked through a private owner so we didn't know what to expect. We were very impressed by how prompt Mr. Bayne returned emails with the many question we had and we quickly felt very comfortable with the process. He and his wife Kimberly actually greeted us at the property and made us feel right at home. The Tea Tree Cottage is so quaint & charming that words and pictures cannot possibly describe it in detail. It has the cozy feel of grandmas home but with modern updated amenities. We instantly felt relaxed. It is in a peaceful quiet setting. Just a short walk to Carmel Village and all it has to offer. I think just sitting out on the rear deck sipping coffee and watching the squirrels playing on the oak trees was the most relaxing time. This was definitely one of the most romantic vacations we have spent in our 16 years together. And it was all by chance! Thank you Mike and Kimberly for helping us make our 16th Anniversary that much more memorable. We'll be back for sure and we will keep spreading the word of this jewel of a find. See you again soon.
