Come share the beautiful North Carolina Mountains! Each season is so different and so exciting. Enjoy skiing, snow boarding and sledding in the winter, golf, tennis, swimming and hiking in the spring, spectacular foliage in the fall and cool temperatures in the summer!
This five bedroom home is located within the privately gated community of Linville Ridge. The house is located at 4800 feet with a panoramic view of Grandfather Mountain and the famous Mile High Swinging Bridge. In the summer enjoy the cool breezes, the sound of birds singing, see deer, wild turkey, fox, coyotes, and an occasional distant bear - nature at it's finest.
In less than twenty minutes you can hike at Linville Falls, sightsee the Blueridge, have fun shopping the quaint Blowing Rock village and the wonderful outlet mall, visit Boone, go to the movies. Ski in the winter, golf in the summer- visit Linville Caverns or hike Linville Falls. Travel to Boone and see the outdoor drama of "Unto These Hills", or enjoy productions at Appalachian University, Lees McCrae or at the Blowing Rock Playhouse. Take a ride on the historic Tweetsie railroad located between Blowing Rock and Boone. Enjoy lots of great dining (from family to fine dining) in the area, we would be happy to share a few of our favorites. Visit Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain for the best in North Carolina skiing during the winter and great mountain biking and hiking in the spring, summer and fall. Visit Banner Elk, minutes away, for intimate reataurants, art shows and the famous Wooly Worm Festival.
Everyone will love to cool off during those hot summer months. Bluegrass music can be found in local barns and don't miss the Scottish Highland Games that we are famous for! Penland School of Craft which is world famous, and is only 30 minutes away, there is a craft store on the premises with products by nationally known artists. If this all sounds too tiring ... bring a good book and sit on one of the two decks and do nothing.
Enjoy spectacular foliage driving the Blue Ridge Parkway (located less than ten minutes away) or simply sit on either the front deck and watch Grandfather Mountain change before your eyes or enjoy your private woods from the back deck.
This is the first time we have shared our home so while we are away enjoy the opportunity, and let us know if we can help you in any way ... but most of all have fun and play in the North Carolina Mountains!

This house sits at 4,800 feet and you can sit on either the front porch and watch the mile high bridge or sit on the back deck and watch your own private woods. Year round one can enjoy the shopping and atmosphere and attractions located in Blowing Rock, Boone, Banner Elk, Asheville and the Tri-Cities in Tennessee. In the winter we are located within five minutes of Sugar Mountain and fifteen minutes of Beech Mountain, two of the best ski areas in North Carolina. In the Spring and Summer, Linville Ridge has a spectacular George Cobb designed golf course, clay tennis courts, pool, croquet and three dining facilities (temporary monthly memberships are available at the clubs discretion).
