You’ll be welcomed inside this rustic Adirondack style log cabin by the aroma of knotty pine into a huge kitchen and dining room where you can enjoy a family breakfast next to a real wood fireplace with wide views of the lake.
Take a moment to catch your breath before stepping into the Great Room. Here you can read a book while watching the boats go by on the comfortable leather sofa, enjoy a glass of wine by the floor to ceiling rock fireplace, watch a DVD with the whole family, or just sit and enjoy the details of this exquisitely decorated room with pine wood beams stretched across the soaring ceilings.
You’ll be drawn up to the loft where you will find an open area with bonus daybed and office area with wireless internet connection and a private full-size bedroom with views of the Great Room and Smith Lake. Just off the Great Room, a hand-carved King Bed with a mural of the Lake and beautiful armoire with satellite TV make up the first master suite. The master bath features a claw foot tub and an incredible custom stone and slate shower large enough for two.
Wake up to awesome views of the lake from the second King suite with adjoining bathroom. The kids will love the 4th bedroom’s colorful full-size bed and 3rd bath. With all the beauty inside, you tend to forget the main reason you came here but eventually you will find yourself on the back covered porch looking out over amazingly clear and deep waters of the main body of Rock Creek.
A large fenced in yard allows Mom and Dad the opportunity relax in the very unique rockers or porch swing and watch the kids play. When you’re ready to go down to the lake, a gentle walk leads you to the boat dock with swim pier and double jet-ski lifts. You’ll definitely want to take advantage of the large stainless gas grill enjoy your meal in the lakeside gazebo with picnic table and double glider. Our family just spent the week at Cody's Cabin! Wow, one could not ask for more fun in the water, sunbathing, playing games on the large Dining Room table, watching a movie and relaxing. This is a most special place with every convenience! Love the decor of the interior and the splendid outdoor views. Home is very child friendly for our grandchildren. Loved every minute! KPL PS: The Owner was considerate and kind in checking to see if we found everything in good order.

The cabin was lovely, the lake is even more gorgeous. We spent most of our time on the water, but enjoyed the cabin. The day of departure, we were expected to walk half mile both ways to end of street with all of our trash bagged. We did so. We did feel that since paying a cleaning fee, that should perhaps be responsibility of cleaning service as we were paying a premium to be on vacation. I feel that simply placing bagged trash in trash cans next to cabin should suffice for responsibility of renters on vacation. But that is our opinion..... Other than that, we very much enjoyed our precious time with our precious family!

Ahhh! This home of rustic elegance is my idea of eye candy. We very much enjoyed certain elements such as the woodburning fireplaces, the view of the lake, the spacious bar and kitchen, the comfortable bed in the master bedroom, the huge stacked stone and slate shower in the master bathroom, the long front porch, the comfortable glider in the gazebo, and the meticulous decorative effects in every room. If knotty pine walls, floors and ceilings are your cup of tea, this is the place to be. Oh yea, we LOVED the big picture of Cody too! Larry can tell you a person to call who will deliver firewood (for a small fee) to the porch before you arrive! And I'm sure summertime would be even more awesome!

My husband and I rented Cody's Cabin with two other couples over New Year's weekend. I couldn't imagine a better place to ring in 2011! We had such a fun, relaxing time. The house is impeccably decorated with quality furniture and linens. The beds were extremely comfortable-which can be rare when renting on vrbo. The kitchen cookware was also top-notch which made it especially nice for us since we cooked the entire weekend. This cabin is right on the lake with an awesome deck and beautiful view of Smith Lake. On another note, the owner was very thorough and helpful and wanted to make sure we had a pleasant stay. I would absolutely recommend this cabin...we will be back!!! Thanks again, Larry!

We were celebrating my husband's retirement and this was the perfect place. It is very convenient to Birmingham so family could come for the day or spend the night. The rooms are large and perfect for a big group. I must say the website sold me on the place, but now that I have been there, the website does not do it justice. We will definately be back.

This cabin was GREAT so much more than we expected. The porch, yard and swim dock was so nice. Our family spent Labor Day weekend at the cabin for a family vacation. The cabin was equipment with everything we could have ever needed or wanted. We had enough room for everyone. The walk down to the dock was just perfect we were even able to get my 82 year old grandmother down to the dock and on the boat. Cabin was VERY, VERY CLEAN and well taken care of. Owner even called night we arrived to make sure everything was ok. I would recommend this property to anyone. Cabin was so much better than what you can see in pictures.

Great house with everything that you need. Great place to get away from it all. Wifi available, but cell phone coverage nearly non-existent. Not alot around when it comes to restaurants and grocery stores. Right on the lake with only a short walk down to the lake. Lake is beautiful. Very deep waters directly from the shore line. Fish were not very hungry while we were there. Kids need a life-jacket b/c the water is so deep. Definitely bring a float or life preserver. Swimming deck has four nice lounge chairs. Deck gets pretty hot.

WOW! Every inch of this luxury cabin is filled with details to make your stay that more enjoyable! Cody's Cabin is likely the nicest rental we've ever booked and we are frequent VRBO users! Besides the beautiful home, the lake was fresh, clear and clean! Our girls had a blast swimming, kayaking, jumping and exploring the lake! The owner, Larry, was quick to respond to any questions we had and even called us at the cabin while we were there! We highly recommend this beautiful cabin for any season! Hint: we stayed during the week and there was very little lake traffic which we thought was very nice!

My family and I travel to Smith Lake every year and have stayed in several different homes. This home has been the best by far. There is no walk down stairs to the lake, it is right on the water. The home is beautifully decorated and has everything you need. We really enjoyed the huge stone shower in the master bath. We will come back to Cody's Cabin every year. Mark and Ellen
