Kaanapali Beach Club is a fabulous Ocean Front Resort located on the north end of the famous Kaanapali Beach. It is a 3 tower, 12 story high-rise building that is a very unique structure as the center of each tower is open to the atrium/courtyard below. If you are familiar with Embassy Suites, then you have an idea of what to expect as the resort was known at the Embassy Resort at Kaanapali Beach.
The one bedroom suite is over 820 square feet and both the living room and the bedroom take advantage of the fabulous views. The bath is very large and has a private entrance from both the bedroom and the living area so as to make the unit very comfortable for sharing. You can have either a king bed in the bedroom or 2 doubles - your choice. The suite has a sleeper sofa and a very nice rollaway can also be brought up at no extra charge. There is a full kitchen minus the range. (A large electric skillet and/or a crock pot can be bought to your room at no charge) There is a microwave, dishwasher and full size refrigerator and barbeque grills on site. There are beautiful Hawaiian furnishings. The unit is air conditioned. There is a stereo and DVD player in the living room and TVs in both the living room and bedroom. There is now wireless internet throughout the resort.
ONE ACRE POOL with waterfall and waterslide. Separate kiddies pool. Hot Tub.
Kaanapali Beach is located on the west, dry side of Maui and one of the most requested destinations in the world. There are many golf courses nearby as well as restaurants on site and nearby. Plenty of shopping nearby and one shopping center and grocery store is just across the street within easy walking distance. There is great swimming, snorkeling and diving right in front of the resort as well as many other great locations within a short drive. For those of you that want the services of a concierge, their desk is located downstairs in the lobby. ***There is no obligation to attend a timeshare presentation, but if you so choose, there are some free goodies offered to you for attending.
Maid service is provide midweek during your stay at no charge and there are plenty of towels in the room for your needs. If there is anything else you need, the friendly staff is very quick to attend to your needs.
I would like to take just a moment to talk about the fabulous snorkeling in Maui. This doesn't require you to pay for and take a snorkel cruise. There is great snorkeling right out in front of the resort. (Be careful though to heed the flags and read the signs!) The divers take groups out directly in front of the resort most days, but you can snorkel there on your own and there are resident sea turtles that you can see even from the shore if you pay attention. If you go to my website, (link provided below) you can see many pictures that I have taken over recent years and I have yet to pay for a snorkel tour. Whether it be out front or within a short walk, or a short drive, there are many locations where you can see a vast variety of sea life besides the sea turtles, including, moray eels, puffer fish, trigger fish, parrot fish, surgeon fish, unicorn fish and on and on and on. Please feel free to ask more if you are interested.
Kaanapali Beach Club is rated #1 out of 71 Maui Hotels by Trip Advisor's Popuplarity Index!!
Kaanapali Beach has been voted Best Beach in America by Dr. Stephen Leatherman (Dr. Beach), Number 1 Beach in the USA (14 times) by Conde Naste, Beach with the Best Sunset by Hawaii Magazine, and Maui has been voted the Best Island in the World over 14 years in a row.

10 Stars for the owner!
10 Stars for the owner!
I would rate the Kaanapali Beach Club (KBC) condos five stars and will explain why in a minute. But first I would rate Gary 10 stars! We picked the KBC late in planning, after other family members had their rooms. The short story is, Gary did not have a vacant condo at that time, but after a few days of checking, he found us a place to stay for seven days. When we asked to add three days, he was able to secure the additional days in the same location – and the check-in staff kept us in the same room, without having to pack up and move, the entire 10 days. We did not know Gary prior to this rental, so were happy with the consistency of communication by email and the friendliness of someone who did not know us. He made an extra effort to make our vacation great. We always felt informed and received confirmation emails and paperwork right away. We checked in easily at KBC when we arrived. The things we liked best about KBC and Gary’s vrbo were: the fantastic view of the ocean and surrounding island(s) from the balcony. We were on the 11th floor. We ate breakfast on the balcony and had afternoon drinks there, too, listening to the birds, watching the trees blow in the wind and photographing the multiple blues of the ocean, colorful rainbows and beautiful sunsets. The 1 bedroom condo was recently redecorated with new tile, carpeting, furniture & appliances. We had free internet daily, free parking (one of the people in our party of eight needed handicapped parking and it was available 90% of the time, right near the door,) maid service twice was quick and friendly. The washer and dryer on the same floor were close by and available all the time. Elsewhere in the KBC, we ate breakfast in the large downstairs sunroom located right on the grassy beach area. We had dinner at the outdoor dining area by the pool with local musicians. The food and atmosphere at both were great. If we didn’t want to drive, we stayed at the KBC for food and entertainment. We used the outside BBQ grills for dinner one evening and noticed a lot of people used them as a family & friends gathering area. We walked to local art galleries, the Farmer’s Market, a Natural Foods Store and coffee shop in a residential area nearby. We also walked in the opposite direction along the beach walk beside the ocean, past golf courses and through other timeshares and condos to the Whalers Village for lunch & dinner. We could walk or drive everywhere from the KBC location. The service staff at the desk

Owner response: Glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you so much for your great review and kind words!!
This is the second time I've booked through Gary and stayed at KBC, the rooms are large, immaculate and the view is wonderful. The pool is by far the best on the Island, the booking was pleasant, the owner contacted me within one day and sent a confirmation within the hour. I will not stay anywhere but KBC and not book with anyone but Gary. Can't wait to go back!

Owner response: Thank you for the very kind words, Patricia!! Glad you enjoyed it!
We have stayed at the KBCR for over 20 years ( back when it was Embassy ). Many of the perks, free breakfast and cocktails, we loved have gone away but the resort as a whole remains wonderful. I would still not recommend staying in the rooms not renovated. They are working from the 12th floor down and are currently on the 7th and 8th. They are tearing up the main drive about mid-April 2013 for much needed repairs. Great trip. Great destination.

Kaanapali Beach Club
Kaanapali Beach Club
Overall, we were very pleased with our week long stay at the Kaanapali Beach club. The beds are very good, and the Bathroom was exceptionaly nice. The room is right on the Beach front, with no obstructions of the view of the ocean. We saw whales and turtles daily from our room. We didn't require much of a kitchen beyond a fridge, but most everything else required to cook was there. We didn't particularly like the style of coffe maker, it was a fancier model, with no coffee pot, and didn't work that well, but we just purchased coffee daily from the restuarant. Upon arrivial they will try to set you up to attend 90 min presentation. Basically, its an attempt to sell you on a time share. In exchange for attending they will offer discounts for island activities that are normally offered to timeshare owners. If you plan on spending alot of money on whale watching boats, helicopters, diving, zip lines, etc., then attending may be worth your while. Compared to what other people were paying for the activities, we did save alot of money booking through them with their discount. If you do not plan on spending money on the activities they have to offer, and are not interested in the time share presentation, I would not attend it, and it is not required. the swimming and food facilities at the resort are very nice, with direct access to the beach. Booking through Gary Bodine was easy and efficient, no problems there. The price for this room and location is very fair. It is definately a top notch room, on beach front, very hard to find for this price.

Affordable resort with tons of amenities on beautiful Kaanapli Beach!
Affordable resort with tons of amenities on beautiful Kaanapli Beach!
My husband and I had stayed at the KBC on our honeymoon five years ago and were so excited to go back. This was our first experience through VRBO and Gary was wonderful to make arrangements through! He was always very responsive to all of our inquiries and was quick to turn around our reservation. The resort itself is very nice for the price. The kitchenette is AWESOME - we cooked every breakfast in our room and many of our lunches. It is very nice if you have a family with you -- saves a lot on the cost of food and is convenient. The rooms are clean and up to date. Nice big bathroom with two sinks. The only downside we found: -TV was an HD television, but the channels are not HD -No fan in the bathroom (and if these are the only complaints we have... then you can imagine how good it is!!) Huge lanai - we regret not upgrading to the oceanfront room vs. oceanview because our view was fairly disappointing (it overlooked a parking lot and ugly rooftop). The pool area is big and we went when the resort wasn't very busy - so we always had our pick of the chairs. Pool doesn't have a great view of the ocean, but was still lovely. (Not heated = cold!) We also enjoyed the resort happy hour very much -- from 3-6 every day they run great drink and food specials. Aloha Friday was also fun - happy hour all day! Overall a GREAT experience for the price we paid. We were happy to rent from Gary and will hopefully do it again in the coming years!

Owner response: I was there in February and they apparently had a heater go out for the pool. They turned up the heat and it got better in a day or 2!
We rented 4 units from Gary last April for our 4 daughters and their families---couldn't have picked a better facility---location was terrific; market across the street and farmer's market within walking distance, beach and for the pool---each unit was well furnished and comfortable for each family and the staff were very accommodating in placing them on the same floor and near one another. The restaurant staff were also willing to work with us to get 19 of us seated and fed at various times. When one of the son-in-laws had a run in with his paddle board the security staff were right there with ice and band aids, checking often to make sure he was o.k. along with the bartender KBC is all about family and making wonderful memories ---we would highly recommend it!

We have been to KBC a few times in the past but especially enjoy going over the Holidays. Gary was great to work with and did his best to call ahead to "request" an ocean front room for us. When we checked in the staff went above and beyond to meet our needs and we ended up in an ocean front corner room. We have found when you check in to be nice and courteous they are more willing to accommodate your requests. It was a very busy time for them and hotel was very full but they never hesitated to help us in anyway they could. We had friends stay in the newly remodeled rooms, which we did not have..so we are excited to go back when the renovations are complete, Had a great time..

We had an excellent time. Have been to Maui several times and this resort/owner are great. View is amazing. Rooms and amenities are great. Resort crew is friendly, fun and professional. Meals are great whether in the restaurant, pool bar or snack bar. Close bus trip to Kaanapali and Laihaina. Had a wonderful time and will look forward to going back soon!

GREAT PLACE TO STAY
GREAT PLACE TO STAY
We stayed there during New Year's week 2012. Great Suite, very clean. As we were a family of 4, having a separate bedroom was much appreciated. The small kitchen was very convenient, great for breakfast, lunch, etc... I have read reviews regarding the constant harassment from staff re: timeshare presentations. I frankly had no problem, although I was approached on many occasions, I firmly said no and was left alone. The only partial negative was the beach: narrow, and lots of coral/rock in water: it does not match the Kaanapali Beach south of the sheraton, however, this is accessible by a short car ride. Gary's suggestions on dining/parking in Lahaina were very helpful. Would definitely book with him again. Oh, I forgot to mention: we saw whales and dolphins from our balcony!

Owner response: In reading the last review, I did want to make a comment regarding the beach. One thing that we became aware of a few years ago, is the sandy beaches can change a lot and I mean A LOT from summer to winter on the island. During the winter, the prevailing weather/current causes a substantial shift in sand to the South. This tends to scour out the beaches, sometimes down to the old coral beds during the winter. In some years for example, there is no sand whatsoever in front of the Sheridan at Black Rock. If you have ever been there in the summer and seen the abundance of sand, you would be shocked to see it some winters. Same thing happens on the North Kaanapali Beach near the resort. The sand literally gets shifted to the South. In the summer, the opposite happens. The sand shifts back to the North and fills in over the coral again. I have never seen the beach South of Kaanapali beach Club disappear. There has always been a huge expansive beach directly to the South of Kaanapali Beach Club all the way to Black Rock, but the northern edges of these beaches can change greatly season to season, some years much more so than others. I just felt compelled to share this.
I have four weeks left for 2014 in a deluxe ocean view suite for $2,195. E-mail me your desired dates and I will check availability and get back to you. Due to the fact that this is my home resort, The daily $25 resort fee is waived. A few other free perks are included. All Resorts collect the Hawaii State Occupancy tax of $6.59 per day. No other fees. No cleaning fee, resort fee, etc. Please contact me to book or with any questions.

About the owner: My name is Gary Bodine. I am happy to offer this rental property to you for your enjoyment. We fell in love with Maui the first time we vacationed there and always have stayed in the Kaanapali area. We come back as often as we can usually twice a year. We live in Washington State, so for us, the sun and warm water is what it is all about. We love to take advantage of the great snorkeling in the area!
