Mountain Mist is a completely remodeled 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath chalet located directly on Harris Mountain, which is connected to the Smoky Mountains National Park. The two upstairs bedrooms have king-size beds. The bottom two bedrooms are equipped with double-queen beds, which are bunk beds with queen mattresses on both the top and bottom. These rooms are ideal for parents with younger children and for larger families and groups. Each bedroom is a suite, and has its own full bath, 32' flat-panel TV's with DVD. There are also two queen sleeper beds, bringing the total sleep capacity to 16. There are a total of 7 TV's in the chalet, so all parties are able to see their favorite programs or movies.
The chalet has three decks overlooking the mountains. There are two hot tubs, one on the top deck and one on the bottom. The middle deck has a porch swing facing the mountain view. There are also rocking chairs for your use and comfort.
Mountain Mist has a fully-stocked kitchen, dining room and full-size laundry. There is also a half-bath on the middle floor, located directly off the kitchen. The upstairs has a full-size video arcade game complete with over 120 preloaded games. The lower level game room has a pool table and TV. When you stay at our chalet, you are also eligible to use any of the three Chalet Village Clubhouses, which are open to members-only, and are complete with both swimming pools and tennis courts. We are located within a half-mile of their largest facility.
The living room is furnished with leather couches, a stone gas fireplace, and a big screen flat-panel TV. There is Wi-Fi throughout the chalet. The interior has both trey and cathedral ceilings, and is richly adorned with real hardwood.
We are located two miles from downtown Gatlinburg, and five miles from Pigeon Forge, home of Dollywood and Dollywood Splash Country, her new water park. Pigeon Forge also has an entertainment strip that offers numerous amusement rides, go carts, and other carnival games. The chalet is two miles from Ober Gatlinburg, a ski resort and amusement park. This is also the home of the overhead Tram, which can transport you from the top of the mountain directly to downtown Gatlinburg. Downtown Gatlinburg is home to Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies, a 1.4 million gallon world class aquarium that is home to more than 10,000 exotic sea creatures and the world's most spectacular underwater aquarium tunnel. The aquarium was also named by Trip Advisor as the nation's top aquarium in January, 2009.
There are numerous shopping outlets, together with the multitude of local arts and crafts stores within minutes of the chalet. The entrance to the Smoky Mountains National Park is about three miles south of the property. Golf, white water rafting, fishing, excellent restaurants, sight-seeing, hiking, etc., are literally minutes away. Gatlinburg also ranks just behind Las Vegas as the destination wedding capital of the country. There are numerous wedding chapels located throughout the area, and it is not uncommon to be walking Gatlinburg's main thoroughfare and see a bride, a groom, or the entire wedding party walking next to you. This certainly adds flavor to the festive nature of the city.
Mountain Mist has ample flat, off-street parking directly at its front door. It also has a charcoal barbeque available. Although we have seen black bears numerous times from our chalet, they have always been quite docile. I wouldn't recommend trying to pet any, but you should be able to get a quick picture if you have a camera handy. I have taken all pictures displayed, and they are either from inside our chalet or from our decks.
The chalet is three stories, with two bedrooms on both the top and bottom floors. Wheelchair access would be difficult, since stairs are needed to enter through the chalet and to also move between the floors. There is a half-bath bath and a sleeper-sofa on the main floor, but three steps are still required for access through the front door.

We checked on on 7/6/12 it was so hot in this Chalet we were all sweating as we were unloading our belongings. First of all we rented this Chalet because of the video games and the pool. First question I asked the owner was everything working in the chalet as far as video games his reply was yes. Well guess what it wasnt working and we stayed until 7/14/12 and it never worked here is the reply from the so called people in charge when they emailed me per the owner.....Mrs Moore, our maintenance staff has checked the issue with the arcade game and has gone through a lengthy process to try and resolve the problem. Unfortunately, a part had to be ordered and the company did not give us a definite shipping/arrival date. Arcade games such as the one in Mtn Mist are not a standard cabin amenity which makes repairs slightly harder for us, especially if new parts are required. I do apologize for the inconvenience, I realize it is a horrible disappointment for your family. Please know we are trying our best to get it up and running and we are simply at the mercy of the company supplying the parts at this point. Should you need anything for the remainder of your stay, please call our office , and we will be happy to take care of it. Ok if this is not a eminity then why advertise it as a selling point and why did owner lie to me not to mention it took the people that the owner appointed forever to contact me and still to this day I replied to them attached email and they still has not replied.....The place was burning up all during the day everyday they control your air and everytime we would turn it down when we came back it was turned back up. Now lets mention the morning I got up to cook breakfast opened the oven and there was mildew meat in the oven very gross, not to mention I cleaned it up and when contacted the owner he apologized and said cleaning service would contact me and guess what they called 2 days later left a message without a return number......Do you think they even offered to return any of my money heck no the price is high and I dont mind paying it if it is worth it.....well its not.....There so called owners club to go swimming that is like 2 miles from Chalet is a dump nothing worked at all so we went to the furthest one away and again nothing worked in there either....the pool table at the chalet was so un-leveled you couldnt play pool either..owner returned all calls and emails but nothing got done...very unhappyOwner response: The guest had a few issues with her stay. It is true that the air conditioning from the 2 HVAC units, 5 tons total, had a difficult time keeping up in the afternoons of her stay when the air temperature was 100 plus, and the heat index was averaging 110. These HVAC systems are monitored, and the inside afternoon temperature never exceeded 76 degrees. Evenings and mornings were between 71 and 72. The guest checked in on a Friday, and immediately called to say the arcade game was not working. The maintenance people made 3 visits before Monday and after talking to the manufacturer, ordered the required part on the machine. This arcade game was working properly 7 days before when personal friends stayed at the chalet. The guest called back on Monday, the first business day since the problem was discovered, and wanted to know why the game was not yet fixed. Since she knew the part had been ordered that morning, her call was nothing more than being antagonistic. At this point I knew there was little I could do to reason with her. I am quite surprised by her comments that nothing worked regarding Chalet Village and their 3 private clubhouses. I was assured by management that their collective SEVEN swimming and wading pools, lit tennis courts, shuffle board, horse shoes, ping pong, pool tables, foos ball and assorted games were all in working order. You can search for their website by looking for the chalet village owners club. My last contact from the guest was an email where she indignantly wondered when I was going to return her security deposit. I told her that according to my records she had only paid the contract price and had never paid a security deposit, but if she had cancelled checks to prove otherwise to please forward them to me and she would be reimbursed. Two days later her review was posted. We always strive to take care of every guest by the purchase of quality furnishings, using a professional management company and requiring independent inspections. However, as shown by the review above, sometimes satisfaction is unattainable regardless of the efforts used in that pursuit.

Spent the Easter weekend with family and friends at Mt. Mist. Have been to many places in GB and I can say this place ranks near the top! Nice furnishings and amenities with a really nice view and location. Plenty of room, beautiful hardwood floors and very well equipped. The 2 hot tubs were really nice in that the kids went to 1 and the adults to the other! The owner was also easy to deal with and very accomodating. I have been to places with outdated or "over stated" descriptions and Mt. Mist lived up to all the pics and descriptions or even exceeded them in some cases! I will go back and highly recommend Mt. Mist.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We'd never considered Tennessee before and even though there were only two of us, we chose Mountain Mist, which was large enough for a couple of families. It was incredible - three decks and two hot tubs - so we had a choice of views whilst we relaxed! Al, the owner, couldn't have been more helpful and he gave us lots of tips about the area, which as first timers, was really useful. After a long day exploring Gatlinburg and beyond, Mountain Mist was great to come back to. The quality is very high throughout - and what a place to watch the sun go down over the mountains… superb.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: We own a small business and my wife, daughter and I all enjoy traveling to different areas, seeing new sights and meeting new people.
Why the Owner Chose Chalet Village:
We have always enjoyed being in the mountains, and Gatlinburg was close enough for an easy day-trip, while also providing us with endless opportunities to do a variety of things. This includes the assorted amusement parks, arts and crafts centers, hiking in the Smoky Mountains, looking at wildlife (we have seen bears on numerous occasions, including about two weeks ago). The people are extremely friendly, even when they know we are 'northerners', and weather and food are normally exceptional.
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet:
The air and water are clean, and we can usually sleep with the windows open during the summer, since the mountain temperatures usually get down to the upper 50's to low 60's. We often feel like we are alone on the mountain, but are really only minutes away from a multitude of things that we love to do. And the sleeping is wonderful...
