Elegant 2 BR/2 BA condo at 1020 Esplanade Avenue in the Old Italian Union Hall historic building. This is a private residential property for use by family and friends. The building was built around 1835 and was later a gift to the General P.T. Beauregard’s wife. There are 24 individually owned units most of which are occupied full time by owners. This unit is a beautiful two story condo located on the first floor facing the courtyard.
The condo's first floor has a full kitchen, dining and living area with 3 French doors to the patio, very small den with a full bath (shower, no tub). The second floor has a master bedroom with king size bed and a second bedroom with twin size beds with a full bathroom (tub) between the bedrooms. Both bedrooms overlook the large, traditional New Orleans courtyard.
The courtyard contains a swimming pool, charcoal grill, small kitchenette to service the pool and courtyard area, and a bathroom as well as a laundry room with 2 coin operated washers and 2 coin operated dryers. The unit is fully furnished.
Electricity, garbage, phone, cable TV, and wireless internet included. The property goes from Esplanade all the way through to the parallel street, Barracks. There is a gated lot with a marked, 106, parking space a very short walk away. The gated lot is on the corner of Barracks and Rampart. No pets, no smoking.
The building is a short walk from many French Quarter restaurants and bars and a short walk from Frenchmen which also has many restaurants and bars. It is located on Esplanade between Rampart and Burgundy. This unit is within walking distance of all major French Quarter destinations and landmarks. Despite its central location, the property itself is quiet and serene.
ABSOLUTELY no nightly or weekly rentals allowed - no exceptions. No availability again until mid May 2012.
Available from mid May 2012 through summer into the fall. Accepting reservations for 2013 as well.

We had a wonderful experience here. The condo was spacious, very comfortable and extremely clean. It provided everything that we needed. The location on Esplanade Ave was perfect for us. We could walk to anywhere in the quarter and also had a gated parking space for our car so we could easily drive to other parts of the city. The interior courtyard and pool provided maximum security and scenery.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.
