This cabin was perfectly represented by the pictures posted and was everything we expected and more. It was clean and in amazing condition and the owners provided everything we needed for a relaxing weekend including a fully stocked kitchen and lots of information about the area (restaurants, hiking trails, etc.). Great views and very secluded, which is what we wanted. We would definitely come back!
Owner response:Thanks for coming to Winding Falls and we are happy you had such a great time. You are most welcome to come again sometime! Steve and Cindy Winding Falls Cabin

This mountain trip was a present to me from my boy friend to celebrate my graduation from nursing school and my birthday. Little did I know that he had more planned. On our first full day we had so much fun. We walked down to the falls, had breakfast at Trust Cafe(I love their fresh baked wheat bread), relaxed on th porch and listened to the falls and even watched a little football. As we were grilling ribeyes I was thinking how perfect the day had been. Then, my boyfriend got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! We spent the rest of the week celebrating our engagement! We have cherished our time here at the cabin, relaxing on the porch, soaking in the whirlpool tub, reading books and cooking together. We have thoroughly enjoyed this "snuggly" cabin. It had everything we needed and was the most relaxing place we have ever been. Thanks you, Steve and Cindy, for creating such a wonderful mountain getaway. We look forward to coming back here in the future and re-living our "engagement vacation".

I spent weeks trying to locate a cabin to rent for our honeymoon. It was a bit challenging as I was studying in Thailand at the time. I am extremely finicky about things like this-- even more so than my wife-to-be. After much searching on-line, reading so many reviews, and great deliberation, I settled confidently on Winding Falls Cabin. I had interviewed my fiance' and asked her what characteristics she would want in a honeymoon getaway. She used the following words to describe what she thought would be ideal: cozy; cabin; good kitchen; private; mountains; forested (vs. perched on an overlook); hiking; close to small town (vs. big city); near water would be nice (but not necessary). I wrote down her description. I was so happy to discover this cabin as it so closely resembled what my wife-to-be thought would be fantastic. I kept the cabin's website and description a surprise, only providing clues to the general location. She was thoroughly surprised and impressed. It was so wonderful to discover this cabin. Steve and Cindy, the owners, have made this place to be an amazing retreat. It is so marvelously relaxing. The inside is super clean and so well decorated. We enjoyed walks through the snow and along the river, great cooked meals in their beautifully furnished kitchen, relaxation in front of the fire, and so much quiet and peace. What a joy to pull out the notebook with her original description from months before and see how closely it paralleled the qualities within and surrounding Winding Falls Cabin. On an interesting note, the day we were to arrive there was almost two feet of snow, so we were delayed in getting into the cabin by two days. Steve and Cindy were very open about the situation providing updates, extremely fair in the arrangements, and went out of their way to make our time there very special. It was a memorable place for us to unwind and relax for us "newlyweds" and one we plan to return to in the future. The cabin and their owners are well respected from what we learned in town and for sure that was our experience. Thank you, Steve and Cindy, for such a wonderful week at Winding Falls.
Owner response:We are so glad you had such a special time at Winding Falls Cabin for your honeymoon!. The snow was definitely more than normal even for December here in the mountains. But it certainly was beautiful and magical and we are happy you enjoyed your stay. All the best for your new life together! Please come back again sometime to Winding Falls! Steve and Cindy

We spent our honeymoon at this cabin! We loved it. The Fall colors that surrounded the cabin in October were amazing. The cabin is picture perfect--beautiful decor, stone fireplace, lovely loft bedroom, gourmet kitchen, front porch that you don't want to leave....and we loved exploring the amazing water falls. We can't wait to go back for our first anniversary!

We stayed at Winding Falls Cabin for the week of October 15-22, 2010. The leaves were changing colors, the weather perfect, the cabin exactly as shown in the photographs, perhaps more beautiful. The cabin is decorated impeccably, with every detail attended to. Whether sitting on the porch listening to the waterfalls, snuggling by the fire, or hiking to the creek, we could think of no more perfect place to get away from the world. While it is very secluded and the driveway a bit of an adventure, we brought our own groceries so there was no urgency to travel to a "full" grocery store (about 40 minutes away). The cabin has every amenity including a fully stocked spice rack and complete array of cooking utensils, wireless internet, wood for the fireplace, laundry detergent for the clothes washer, even scented candles in every room to add to the ambience. It is a relatively short drive to Max Patch, where the hike provides a 360 degree view of the mountains, then adorned with gorgeous fall colors. The jacuzzi tub provided welcome relaxation after the climb! If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, but don't want to forego the comforts of home, Winding Falls Cabin is a hidden paradise.

Review submitted by guest to Tripadvisor This vacation was a real gem! It was the perfect size for a romantic get-away or a break with friends. It is gorgeous and secluded. This is a place meant to be enjoyed for its location. It is a great place to get away from everything and simply relax. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Thank you Steve and Cindy for a wonderful 4-night stay at Winding Falls Cabin! We had such a nice time enjoying the cabin, waterfalls, flora and fauna! We saw wild turkeys, deer, tons of butterflies and several hummingbirds at the falls. Enjoyed hearing the rain on the metal roof one night and a much fuller creek the next day - the sound of the waterfalls was so peaceful. It was the perfect spot to pop the question! We look forward to returning in the spring and fall to enjoy the different seasons. Engaged! Joe & Paula

This cabin in the forest was absolutely stunning! Every detail in the home was obviously furnished with love. There were scented candles in every room, including the master bathroom with jacuzzi! The sound of the nearby creek continually calmed the soul, and the dozen or so hummingbirds on the deck entertained us all day long. We enjoyed a lovely picnic on one of the picnic tables down by the creekside. In the evening we made s'mores in the fireplace. During the day we sat on the deck in our PJs and enjoyed the Great Smokey Mountains displayed before us. This is a magical place of romance! We are thrilled to have found it.

My wife and I spent a wonderful 3 day weekend at this cozy cabin in June. We enjoy renting homes when on vacation. [ This was our third one just this year ] You don't always get what you want. Winding Falls was just right. Very clean, Cindy has done a loving job decorating, and VERY private. This cabin has everything you need for a carefree, stressfree vacation. I highly recommend Winding Falls for the couple that needs sometime off from the ratrace.

We had a wonderful family vacation at this cabin. It was off the beaten path and town was 1/2 hour away. The cabin was beautiful a little walk down to the river to catch fish but great excercize. My husband and I would like to return for another trip alone. We would highly recommend this property.

My wife and I needed a weekend for just the two of us. Our two kids were visiting with Nana. After some searching online for the perfect romantic retreat we both were drawn to the Winding Falls Mountain Cabin. The cabin fit all of our requirements. It is sometimes difficult to know if a place will live up to it's pictures, so the arrival was a very pleasant one. The cabin glowed with warmth and charm, very romantic. We were truly happy with everything about the cabin. The setting is also very beautiful. We like to cook, we own a restaurant, and we were very happy with the kitchen. I would very much recommend the cabin to anyone who wants to get away from the constant demands of our modern world! Relax and Enjoy.

We were truly happy with everything about the cabin. The setting is also very beautiful. The only thing you have to consider is that there is no corner grocery or restaurant. Hot Springs isn't a culinary hot spot so we had a great time cooking for ourselves and came prepared for all of our meals. We like to cook, we own a restaurant, and we were very happy with the kitchen. I would very much recommend the cabin to anyone who wants to get away from the constant demands of our modern world! Owner response:Mark: We are happy that you enjoyed your stay at the Winding Falls Cabin and welcome you back anytime! I did want to let you know about some great restaurants in the nearby town of Hot Springs. At Mountain Magnolia Inn they have a new French chef who turns out amazing meals. The amosphere is also fantastic. The Iron Horse restaurant in town is also quite good. For guests wanting pub style food there is always the Rock Bottom and thre is country cooking at the Smoky Mtn. Diner. Thanks again for coming! Steve and Cindy

Thank you for this wonderful Experience! In June we began a search for "the perfect cabin". We looked at websites, spoke to friends and read books. We considered thousands of cabins all over the United States. But none of them were THE perfect cabin. Then, in early July, I happened upon your website and it was love at first sight! On August 19, 2009 we were married in our hometown of San Francisco and on August 17, 2009, we arrived at a magical cabin in the middle of the forest and began a wonderful honeymoon. We loved every second we spent in this cabin, touring the falls and hiking the area. There is still so much to be seen, so we will be back! Thanks again! Tamar and Jacob

The cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It exceeded our expectations in every way. Nothing was as relaxing as sitting on the front porch listening to the whitewater creek crashing below. We went looking for a solitary, meditative weekend in the wilderness and got more than we could have asked for. I will definitely return for a romantic weekend in the near future. Thank you! *worth the price *very clean *very remote *whitewater creek and hiking trails as described

My wife and I were looking for a quiet, secluded, little cabin in the mountains to celebrate our 28th anniversary together. We found that and much more. The photos of the cabin are good but they don't show the whole package, or do this little home away from home justice. Our weekend was in late April, cool in the mornings with those cups of hot coffee on the front porch. Looking out over the valley down to the rolling rock stream and winding falls we were tempted to take a dip if it were just alittle warmer. Surrounded by mountains and trees and located at the end of the road not another cabin or person to be seen. Unless you take a hike back down the road a few hundred yards. The hiking will be heavy as you are truly in the mountains. Down to the winding falls, 150 yds or so, to the picnic table area and back was far enough for me each day, the knees aren't what they used to be. Having all that area to yourself to hike and explore, or just sit on the porch and listen to the water babble just humbled and amazed me. The cabin is clean, user friendly and just adorable. It has almost everything you'll need or would have available in your own home. Just wish I had a fireplace like that in my home. The kitchen is perfectly stocked with appliances, cooking utensils, and most condements. Bring a big cooler with all the food stuff you'll want for a few days as the local shopping is slim and a 10 mile drive to the corner store can take half an hour on winding mountain roads. However, we enjoyed day tripping around site seeing the old valley farms, antique shops, parks and waterways, and the area mountain views were spectacular. We recommend this little getaway to all our friends who enjoy nature at its best, peace and solitude. The owners were very nice and answered all of our many questions and gave good advise and direction. We plan to return in the Fall to view the awesome autumn colors. I can't think of anything that could have made our visit better. Maybe a few more candles around the jacuzzi, ..eh eh. Thank you, Steve and Cindy for sharing this little slice of paradise with the rest of us. Dave and Debbie

My husband and I stayed here 11-15 though 11-17-08. It was the perfect place to celebrate my 60th Birthday. The place is gorgeous with all the authentic wood inside and out and the stone fireplace, WOW. We loved just sitting in front of the fire. It was cold and snowing while we were there and it was very nice since we are from Florida. Most of the rentals only had electric or gas fire places and we wanted a real one. The jaccuzzi is very refreshing and we enjoyed it. The view is awesome from the windows, we even saw some of the changing color still in the leaves.

My husband and I rented the cabin for our 1st wedding anniversary. It was everything that we were looking for: very secluded, beautiful scenery, especially the waterfalls and the surrounding mountains. The cabin is very nicely decorated, the pictures don't really do it justice. It is very spacious and comfortable. We loved sitting on the front porch reading and listening to the waterfalls. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone that just wants to get away from it all! We plan on coming back for our next anniversary!
