Fabulous lake and mountain views!!!

The Ajijic mountainside overlooking Lake Chapala is the setting for the guest casita of this classic Mexican estate newly constructed in 2009. The location of this private and walled estate is in easy walking distance (5 blocks) to the center of Ajijic where many restaurants, shops and galleries are available for your enjoyment. For the more athletic individuals, just two blocks from our entry gate is the beginning of several hiking trails.

The casita has its own private courtyard complete with flowers galore, a sparkling fountain, a lime tree (for margarita making), and a barbeque grill. Overlooking the courtyard is a large terrace with a wrought iron table and two chairs. On the terrace you can sip your morning coffee and view Lake Chapala and majestic Mount Garcia. Inside the casita is a fully furnished kitchen (refrigerator, microwave, gas stove, coffee maker, etc.). The king size bed can be converted to twin beds if needed. For your viewing pleasure, there is shaw direct satellite television. Adjacent to the bedroom is the utility area with full-sized clothes washer and dryer. Also, the casita is wired for hi-speed internet. Maid service is provided one day each week.

A special treat is our rooftop "Mirador" with a breathtaking panoramic view of Ajijic, Lake Chapala and the mountains. The mirador is covered and has a dining table with seating for four.... A lovely place to enjoy your evening cocktail and watch the sun set.

ALL THIS FOR MUCH LESS THAN STAYING IN ONE OF AJIJIC'S HOTELS. EMAIL US FOR A QUICK RESPONSE TO YOUR RENTAL NEEDS.

THANK YOU,
CHERYL & DOUG

Second time as good as the first!

We just returned from our 2nd stay at this beautiful property in Ajijic. It was every bit as enjoyable as our first visit. This casita is very roomy and very nicely appointed. Having a full-sized laundry room allows us to pack light, and the fully-equipped kitchen allows us to prepare our own meals when we want. The views of the lake and mountains from the main house's mirador on the upper level is panoramic and stunning, especially at sunset. The location puts you within easy walking distance of the main plaza and some most excellent restaurants and shops. It is a short and inexpensive taxi ride to many others. The caretaker Bill is very helpful and accommodating. We highly recommend this property and will stay here again on our next visit to Ajijic.

Ajijic Charmer

Guest: Sherry (Bellevue, WA)
Date of Stay: 12/03/11 Review Submitted: 01/02/12

We have loved Mexico for the last 11 years, travelling to different places once or twice a year and this wonderful casita, the friendliest people, gorgeous views, good and plentiful restaurants and a kind and knowledgeable and absolutely helpful property manager made this trip very special. We were on a bit of a search for a retirement place, to escape wet Northwest winters and both of us came away loving Ajijic. The property is exquisite from the entrance which is a tall wall with an lovely oak door - Medieval feel - to the mirador on top of the home. The casita is a large one bedroom "apartment" at the back of the home which has its own little comfy courtyard area. When we were there, the lime tree was in full bloom and we were told we could use them to make margaritas, etc. - delicious. There was bougainvilla trailing over the walls at the back of the home, in four or five different colors. The casita itself was charming AND the owners have thought of supplying visitors with everything - there was nothing we needed that wasn't there. The property owner, believe it or not, was one of the special parts - so friendly and helpful - we were able to find restaurants and galleries that we wouldn't have otherwise. He was always available when we needed him and connected us with people, places we thoroughly enjoyed. Ajijic is charming. A small town on the shores of Lake Chapala, a 50 mile lake ringed by tall mountains. The weather is perfect every day ---- I was so surprised when we went into homes in Ajijic (pronounced ah-HEE-heek) and discovered they did not have heating or airconditioning systems - they don't need them. No bad weather when we visited. A beautiful malecon along the lake. Interesting galleries. The Lake Chapala Society which consists of lots and lots of American and Canadian expats doing interesting things - lots of classes, get-together, a video library, etc. The gringoes and mexicans are friendly. It's not unusual to see a horse and rider walking along the town's cobblestone streets. Even the dogs are laid back!!!! Our stress melted away and all we did was relax and have our senses stimulated - sight, sound, taste. Melt some fun, kind people..............It was just the best.

We stayed at this lovely casita with an incredible view in November and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our two weeks went by too fast and we wanted to stay longer. The casita was amazing- it sits at the top of a hill overlooking the city and lake. The house is beautifully furnished, comfortable, and has lovely landscaping. The property manager is fabulous! He is very welcoming and has much knowledge of the area. The manager helped make our trip a wonderful experience! We could not have been happier. Our vacation to Ajijic was a delightful experience. This property is highly recommended and will truly enhance your visit to Ajijic.

Beautiful week in Ajijic

This was our 2nd trip to Ajijic and the 1st time using VRBO. This casita was amazing, it sits on top of the hill overlooking the city and lake, it was private, secure and so quiet. I would highly recommend this home to anyone traveling there for the 1st time or repeat visits. It was close to everything and you can even walk down to the beach. The man managing the property was very helpful and checked in on us all the time. If you walk down Colon Street there are lots of restaurants with "Tango" being the best meal we had there.
