  My family of two adults and two children can not say enough wonderful things about our stay. It was like staying at your much loved relatives home. The accommodations were so very clean and comfortable and there were so many unexpected extras to utilize, like towels, toys, books, games, movies and so many more little things that are usually locked up in the owner's closet. The kitchen was the same way. It made traveling with kids so much easier. The grounds were wonderful and I know we played every sport they had to offer. The koi pond was also a huge hit and very friendly staff. The location is perfect for sightseeing and day trips around the island.

  Had such a great time in Kauai in the condo. Such a wonderful locale next to the ocean. It was so great to wake up every morning and have a bowl of fruit or ceral and look at the ocean (only a stones throw away) listening and watching the waves. What a relaxing time it was, and the condo was so perfect for our foursome, even though 6 people could be there adequately. This was my first time in Hawaii and would go back in a minute. I would recommend this condo to anyone who wants to have the convience of home, the beauty of the town (Kappa), the central location of the Island, and the over all enjoyment in which it brought my family. I appreciate Rachal, and Farrah for the professionalism they displayed in setting up their condo for us. I hope to be able to go back there soon, and would definately stay in the same condo-set up for another great vacation. Very Sincerely, The Corey Bowden Family

  This location is very clean and incredible views right out the master suite and living room. Your like 50 yards to the beach with nothing between you and the beach but a little grass and a side walk. Just awesome to hear the ocean and wake up to that view. Management was great and honest...they even had a cooler, beach chair, and toys there to take to the beach. Nice central location and even on a rainy week we found great sunshine and beach fun all week. Also, right next to the best breakfast place in town. ONO FAMILY RESTAUARANT....CHECK IT OUT.

  WOW!!!!!!!!!! My husband and I have been to many hot spots in feb as we live in Canada....get away from the cold....this place is the best place ever..we call it paradise.The condo was wonderful could not ask for more.The owners off this place are great people...thumbs up to Farrah & Rachel...very understanding and caring...I would and will tell all my friends and anyone I meet...this is a must to do.

  The location of this condo simply could NOT have been better! The photos don't lie, the beach reallly IS that close! The path along the ocean is right behind the condo, which we took advantage of every day for walking, jogging, and biking. We walked the half mile to Scotty's for breakfast one morning (it's almost exactly a half mile according to my Garmin watch) and also walked to the Bike Rental store. The pool is very nice, although we hardly used it because the beach was so inviting. This was our 3rd trip to Kauai, and we have always driven to various beaches to swim and lounge, but that wasn't necessary at Pono Kai because the beach is perfect! Not too busy, and the water is not so choppy that you can't actually swim. The condo was very clean and well-appointed upon our arrival, everything you need is there! The owners are even thoughtful enough to have extra sun block, beach towels, and other gear in the unit. There is also a washer and dryer in the unit! Many things are close by, grocery, restaurants, shopping, etc. BBQ is right outside the unit also. You will not want for more and the owners are very easy to work with. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!

  I have been staying at the Pono Kai for the past 25 years and in many different units. This condo was certainly one of the most beautifully furnished I have been in. In addition, a family could not ask for a more fully stocked unit - beach chairs, coolers, beach toys, snorkel gear - anything you could need! Lastly, the convenience of having a washer and dryer in the unit was wonderful!! The owners were so easy to work with - thank you, Farrah, for all of your help!!

  we were a family of 6 and we all enjoy our stay. The condo was very nice. getting to the activities was just a little ride by car. We can walk to the grocery store. I would recommend this property to relative or friend .You are directly on the beach and the view is wonderful and you can ear the waves...

  We stayed at this condo in May of 2011. The location is just about perfect. The bike trail that runs 4 miles along the beach was right out in front of the condo. This particular unit was set back a little farther then some of the other units and it offered a little more privacy then those closer to the bike path. There is a little bike rental place right across the street from Pono Kai and we took advantage of that. Also there was a bar/grill named Scotty's up the bike trail maybe a 1/4 of a mile (maybe less) that served breakfast/lunch and happy hour. Great drinks and fairly good food. The condo had everything we needed and the king size bed in the master suite was wonderful. We had ocean breezes all day and night, so the lack of air conditioning was not an issue. We enjoyed having the doors and windows open as often as we could. The grounds were beautiful and the pool and hot tub were well maintained. The grill was right outside our unit, so we took advantage of that quite often. The sunrise was at 5:00 or so and we were up with the sun and down with it too. Even though it rained everyday while we were there (very unusual weather for May) the warmth made up for the rain. And being from Alaska, never kept us from doing most of the fun things on our list. Otherwise, I think it may have been too hot for us to be motivated. The location of the condo made shopping for food and drink very easy and convenient and we would definately stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Kauai. The ocean was right outside our condo and we took advantage of the nice private beach and swimming area. This condo is on the second floor and the stairs are right outside the door, plus there was an elevator down the hall that we never used. We had great visit, although we may have been a bit noisy for the people below us, but that's the disadvantage of being on the ground floor. You may be able to walk out of your unit, but you might have noisy people upstairs.

  Recommended for: Age 55+.

  This was our second time in Kauai and our second stay at Pono Kai (stayed in a different condo before). The views from the condo were absolutely stunningg - I mean who wouldn't enjoy seeing the ocean 24/7. The best part was going to sleep with the sound of the ocean in the background in one of the most comfortable beds. The condo was extremely well kept and provided for some good relaxation time- not to mention the 30 second walk to the gorgeous beach. We love the location of Kapa'a on the East coast of the island. It makes for quick & easy travel to the beautiful areas of Hanalei, Princeville and the Na Pali on the North coast and Lihue, Poipu, Waimea Canyon on the East, South and West coasts. Also, Pono Kai is in a very good location within the town of Kapa'a. You are within walking distance to the main business district full of unique shops and restaurants. And it's just a short drive to the Coconut Marketplace, Wailua Golf Course and the local grocery stores. All in all our experience in this condo was amazing. We are definitely recommending this condo to our friends and will for sure be coming back to stay here again.

  This condo is perfectly located to enjoy a walk to many fine restaurants, shop the many Kapaa stores, take advantage of the walking path along the coast and even walk to the grocery store. We found the unit perfectly suited to our needs, clean and very well maintained. The location made it easy to go south to the quiet beaches or north for surf and adventure. Don't miss the shave ice at Ono's or the BBQ at Scotty's, each a short walk from the condo. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the beautiful garden island of Kauai and would certainly check with these owners again as the lovely condo made our visit most pleasurable.
