I bought the apartment because I could sleep so well in the private courtyard off Campo dei Fiori Like many streets in the area the Via dei Cappellari gets its name from the profession of a number of its inhabitants, in this case the “hat-makers”. The palace where the apartment is located (Number 13) was owned by The Tebaldeschi family who owned various palazzi in the street and whose coat of arms, a rose, can still be seen on the Via dei Cappellari no. 13. The building in front, with loggia and tower, was also owned by the Tebaldeschi. The Italian poet Pietro Trapassi, aka Metastasio, was born in the house underneath the arch (no. 29), as a plaque testifies....moreless

Giusy was very good to deal with during the booking process and the property information very accurate. This apartment is well-appointed, spacious and in a safe location being entered by a locked gate into a central courtyard. It's on the ground floor at the end of the courtyard with steps up to the front door and for the most part it's quiet. We may have been unfortunate in being disturbed by people in the street on Friday and Saturday nights as their loud voices echoed around the courtyard. However, we enjoyed being able to walk to all the major tourist sights and have a comfortable apartment to return to exhausted but happy. We did part of the "night walk" which we loved. Cory and his team were superb. We were collected from the airport by Guglielmo and arrived in style and comfort with no worries about transport. He also drove past most of the sights on the way in and we found him extremely informative and interesting. So much so that we booked the return journey with him. The booking service was very smooth - once I'd discovered that Cory's emails were being routed to my SPAM box. Thank you Monica for returning the item to us which we inadvertently left in the safe. Thanks to everyone for making this a memorable visit to Rome for us.

I am so sorry for the noice on week end nights. The police should control the noise after 10pm. We hope it will not happen again. Thank yo ufor being such a wonderful guest and give feedback to Cory, onica and Giacomo. they are great!!

One cannot really know Rome unless one experiences the ambiance of the Renaissance part of Rome where the houses were built in the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. Our stay (2 couples) in via Cappellari was mind boggling; not only were in the heart of Renaissance Rome but the facilities were totally first class and modern. literally we were a 10 to 15 minute walk to just about every important historical place in Rome. Also, this apartment is literally 50 steps from the largest 'farmer's market' in Rome (each morning from 7 to 2, except Sunday), Campo di Fiori. Having stayed in this area before, we really appreciated the quiet courtyard that we opened to. It totally insulated us from the late night noise of the street (both traffic noise and revelers). Very spacious, totally modern, great beds, great (large) showers, and much more. We will stay here again and always recommend it.

Our family of five (2 adults, 3 early teens) enjoyed 5 days here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The best part is the location which is only 100 m from Campo di Fiore and a few blocks from Pz. Navona/Pantheon. You can't beat the ability to have a short walk to the best bakery/pizza at Forzo and Roscioli a few blocks farther for the best cheeses, meats and deli. The apartment itself is comfortable with a large great room for relaxing and two bathrooms for getting ready. The location is very private, safe and quiet as you're nestled into an atrium far from any traffic or revelers in the square. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay. Cory met us and welcomed us with helpful information about the area. We were able to walk everywhere and enjoyed the market, bakery and many restaurants in the Campo de Fiori . The apartment is well represented in the photos, lots of room, clean and well maintained.Very quiet area even though close to many restaurants. Booking the apartment and communicating with the owner was easy. Having Cory a local representative was very helpful. We also booked a taxi with him to meet us at the airport and get us to the apartment .Would recommend this apt.and would stay again.

Hello Giusy: I can't thank you enough for the use of your apartment in Rome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Cory was wonderful. He was a delight and very thorough in reviewing everything we needed to know. The location was PERFECT. We utilized the market, the food and wine shops, patissceria, flower stalls, and restaurants. If it weren't for visiting all the wonderful sites in the city we wouldn't have left the apartment or neighborhood. You were a pleasure to work with in helping us arrange for our stay. Let me know if you are in DC. Would welcome the chance to meet you. Thanks again. Molly

So much so, I could have stayed forever. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in a great neighborhood. It is just steps from Campo di Fiori with its daily market, several restaurants, a patissceria, pharmacy, and a couple of small but wonderful little shops for food and wine. I would love to return. Thank you.

How many ways can you say terrific? Since space and attention spans are limited, I will mention only the highlights of this charming and peaceful apartment that comes complete with impeccable service. Walk a few hundred feet from your door and savor the sights and sounds of bustling Campo dei Fiori marketplace. Enjoy the whirl of activity as you indulge in espressos, vinos and meals – or pick up fresh produce and delicious baked goods to eat quietly back at the apartment because as soon as you return to the courtyard and the gate clicks behind you, you are transported to tranquility. Public transportation to wherever else you want to go is easily accessible, but the allure of the Campo and its surrounding areas is powerful enough to keep you thrilled to come back home each night. Now to the service! Maybe you’ve been told that Italy doesn’t always adhere to the highest maintenance or service standards, but you’ll find nothing lacking at this apartment. A short list of evidence: the property manager (Cory) clued us in about why we shouldn’t keep a rental car in Rome, arranged our transport from the airport when we arrived, gave us a list of fantastic and affordable places to eat, offered suggestions about tours vs. going it alone, responded to any questions we had immediately, and coordinated an early luggage pickup with a later pickup for us to get to the airport when we left. In between, he resolved an unforeseeable maintenance problem in the most efficient and accommodating manner possible. I rarely write reviews, but our Rome experience was exceptional in a way that had to be shared.

We loved our stay at this Campo De Fiori Apartment. With 2 teenagers it was perfect as it had 2 baths/2 bedrooms and a pullout. The listing was exactly as described and was very updated and contemporary. I think it was more spacious than the photos even portrayed and yes very clean. Gave us plenty of room between sight seeing trips but was super close walking distance to almost everything! We were less than a block from the piazza but the location was very quiet and on a street that did not allow cars. We went to Piazza Navona and the Pantheon several times because they were our favorites and just a couple blocks away. The owner, Giusy, was great to work with as was Cory with the management company who met us upon arrival. We would return here again and highly recommend!

We loved this place. We took our kids, aged 10 and 12. Everything was exactly as represented. Giusy was great to work with, and her on-the-ground manager, Cory, was super helpful. We arranged our transportation to/from the airport with them and everything went smoothly. The apartment is in such a central location--it was great with kids because you were in walking distance to so much (Vatican, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trastevere). So many restaurants in every direction. We didn't really like the ones in Campo d'Fiori, but the ones around Piazza Navona were great (fun place to hang out in the evening). The apartment is really quiet and located in such a unique courtyard. We found it very peaceful after a day of hot sight-seeing. It's a slightly strange layout, but it worked just fine. We found it convenient for breakfast, a little tricky for a major dinner production--but why cook when there's so much great food to eat out? We appreciated the A/C since it was so hot! Everything was clean and tidy and comfortable. I would highly recommend this apartment for anyone needing a good base for seeing Rome.

We had a wonderful time at Guisy's place. The apartment was clean and very close to the area of Campo dei Fiori. Every morning my husband and I sat outside in the square with our cappicino and our croissant. One thing I would however recommend is better directions for working the dryer. The system is very complicated and other than Cory's directions there was nothing written down for us to refer to .Thankfully there was a portable drying stand for us to use. Cory was very helpful to us and Guisy gave us many suggestions as where to eat. My personal recommendations are the little side streeets on Via Dei Cappelari, very good food! Restaurants in the square were not as good. The FORNO bakery was excellent. The circus atmosphere at night got a bit tiresome. My daughter and I enjoyed a nice glass of wine in one of the side street restaurants and Piazza Farnese close by is a nice quiet place to enjoy a meal. The air conditioning unit in the living room and in one of the bedrooms could have been better. The weather while there was in the high 90's everyday and the rooms were not cool enough. I would recommend this apartment for a family of 4-5 not 6 as we had 6 people and found it to be a little tight. I would recommend this apartment, the area is excellent.

                              Year Purchased: 2000

About: I am Italian, born in Tuscany - Siena. I lived in Rome and London for most of my life. I purchased the apartment in Rome in 2000, fully refurbished twice in 2000 and 2006. I lived there for 3 years in 2002 and loved every single day being able to walk everywhere and to sightseeing the beautiful Rome - which I consider a open-air museum. At current, I live and work in Los Angeles - with my husband Stefano, also Italian.

                              Why Navona:
I always loved Campo dei Fiori in Rome. It is a beautiful square, where cars are not allowed. It hosts a farmer market every day, since 1490! It is a open air museum, where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine, coffee, for hours and hours...and just steps from Vaticam , Forum, Navona Suqare...I never needed to use a car during my stay in my Rome apartment.

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
I choose this loction because it is a quiet spot. Via dei Cappellari is a walk street. The apartment is located in the private building court-yard, beautiful setting. Thus it is quiet, secured, private...yet steps from the most lively sights in Rome
