Gallows Point Resort Suite 10B is a newly upgraded, NON SMOKING suite, that is extraordinary in its furnishings, amenities and location on the 5-acre ocean front resort property. Our location on the idyllic island of St. John, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, puts our guests at the center of most activities yet offers unbeatable privacy for relaxation and enjoyment.
The resort is a 5 minute walk to Cruz Bay where you find local restaurants, fine shops and the National Park Headquarters. We have beach restaurants all the way up to very fine dining, grocery stores, banks, wine and liquor shops and limited gambling. It is all just a short walk from your private island resort.
Suite 10B is located at the northwest end of the resort on Gallows Point offering privacy yet centrally located to the ocean side pool and jacuzzi hot tub. There are two decks at the waterfront, one for sunning, the other offering shade for quiet reading. Our small sand beach offers hammocks for lounging under the palm trees. The sun deck next to the poolis a gathering point for cocktails at sunset to watch the spectacular view.
The snorkel cove offers unparalleled snorkeling. Guests often comment that the best snorkeling on the island is right here in our private cove. We have enjoyed seeing sting rays, turtles, eagle rays, sand sharks, octopus, lobster, squid and numerous varieties of fish species from angel fish to spotted drums to queen trigger fish to porcupine fish. Everyday snorkeling here brings another surprise.
Attractive West Indian motif, mixing woods, textures and fabrics gives Suite 10B a feeling of the islands. Suite 10B has been designated as one of the few suites at Gallows Point Resort that "exudes a feeling of warmth and style in luxurious surroundings". Our newly remodeled kitchen offers all stainless steel appliances: refrigerator with icemaker, microwave/convection oven combo, energy saver dishwasher, glass cook top - complete with cooking utensils, dinnerware, glassware, silverware.
The bedroom opens onto a private screened terrace. Lay in the new King size bed and enjoy our large flat screen TV from a reclined position. The bathroom offers a garden-like over-sized shower to enjoy after a day at the beach or snorkeling. The living room has a queen size sofa bed and another large flat screen TV with DVD/VHS player, library of movies, CD player and a full range of CD's including islands songs from Jimmy Buffett, Jam Band, Island Mon and more.
Our deck, overlooking the point, is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee. Suite 10B is one of the few suites that has both views of the harbor and the passing boats along with views over the ocean to the surrounding islands. The sunsets are brilliant exhibiting colors of orange, red, gold, purple, blue and yellow in an ever changing pattern. As the sun sets the lights of St. Thomas begin to sparkle to the tune of a Jimmy Buffett song.
Activities around the island are numerous. Our vacation days are filled with fun, relaxation and just seem to fly by. Exploring the National Park above or below water is exhilarating. The white sand beaches are some of the best in the world. They are just a short drive or taxi ride away. Explore Annaberg sugar plantation or hike DOWN Reef Bay trail with a park ranger to learn about the flora & fauna, explore ruins, snorkel in Reef Bay and enjoy a boat ride back to Cruz Bay.
You can rent power boats, sailboats, kayaks and explore on your own or take a tour with local sailors around the island. There are day sails, snorkel trips to outlying cays, or speed boats to the Baths on Virgin Gorda, Jost Van Dyke and to deserted islands. Ferries leave Cruz Bay all day long for trips to St. Thomas where you can wander among the shops in the old Danish Warehouses or take a tour of the island. Or take a ferry to explore the British Virgin Islands. . . be sure to bring your passport! Car ferries are available on the hour to Red Hook and every half hour to St John.
Restaurants abound and most are within walking distance of Suite 10B. The closest is Zozo's Restaurant and Bar right on property. Just next to Gallows Point is Frank Bay and Patricia's native food restaurant. Sunday night is karaoke night where everyone is welcome to join in the fun. Ask about her pig roast and enjoy the conch stew - the best in the Caribbean! Walk the other direction into town and you have over 20 restaurants to chose from.
Some are fine dining, beach restaurants, tapas, pizza, right down to take out. Take out BBQ from Uncle Joe's is a treat not to be missed. Sunday afternoon Jazz at the Beach Bar is very popular. The best Italian restaurant is Da Livio and across the street is the Lime Inn - where Wednesday night is all you can eat shrimp.
Known for the freshest lobster available, Lime Inn is moderately priced and is a must for any visit to St John. If you want to wander a little further, Asolare at sunset is spectacular with Asian infused cuisine.
On top of Bordeaux Mtn. there is more fine dining at Chateau Bordeaux or head over to Coral Bay for the best burger in the Western Hemisphere at Skinny Legs and don't forget an ice cold greenie. Skinny's is a great stop on the way back from any of the beaches on the east end of the island. Some other East End spots are Miss Lucy's for Sunday Brunch, Aqua Bistro and Vie's Shack for local chicken.
For a local treat walk to Coconut Studios and enjoy Elaine Estern's unique interpretation of our island home. Exploring in Cruz Bay you will find other artists and their unique works.

Why the Owner Chose Cruz Bay
Prior to purchasing at Gallows Point Resort, the five partners would sail together around the Caribbean. Sailing in and out of Cruz Bay gave us the idea to purchase our own island home. We were always fascinated with Gallows, its private cove and location to Cruz Bay. In all of our travels we could not find a more idyllic island to call home. St. John is small and friendly with world class beaches and restaurants. We chose 10B because of its location on Gallows Point. We are a short walk to the pool, we look out over the harbor and the surrounding islands and the "point" is a quiet place to enjoy the sounds of the ocean. We are a 3 minute walk to town, but our position in the resort makes us feel as though we are on a remote island. We enjoy steady trade winds most of the time so AC is not usually necessary. We all like the outdoors and the floor to ceiling doors brings the outside into 10B for all to enjoy. We welcome you to our island home and know you will fall in love with Gallows Suite 10B. The Unique Benefits at this Condominium
Suite 10B is located on a private point in Gallows Point Resort. We are close to the pool & hot tub, sun decks, small sand beach with hammocks and a private cove for the best snorkeling on St. John. The point is private and we have enjoyed seeing iguanas, pelicans, egrets, herons, land crabs, bananaquits, parrots, brown booby, frigates, hummingbirds and much more. Our deck is a great place to wake up, enjoying your morning coffee, listening to the waves lapping against the shore. Our kitchen has all new appliances, complete cookware, utensils, everything for a gourmet chef plus an additional table for dining al fresco on our deck. The king size bed has a brand new mattress and box spring. The bedroom has an enclosed private terrace. Televisions are oversized flat screen TV's with the bedroom TV mounted for relaxed viewing. When you come back from a snorkel and just want to enjoy a warm shower our over-sized shower room does the trick. Ample closets and storage. Beach toys and floats are available in the unit.
Call ahead for lunch or dinner or order take out. 693-8587 Butter conch, shrimp, chicken, roti, burgers,lobster,or any combo of above. Sunday is karaoke night. Ask about her pig roasts.

For over 40 years, the 5 partners in Suite 10B have been friends. As the years have gone by, we have all moved to various parts of the country. Robert & Diane are in Nevada, Mike & Barbara are in Colorado and Bal lives on Long Island. Our lives and families stretch across the United States. Gallows 10B gives us the opportunity to travel to a place we all love, catch up and enjoy a relaxing time together. We all enjoy carnival and often find ourselves meeting on St. John to enjoy the festivities. Always a laugh, a rum drink and some local flavor to bring a smile; Patricia's local conch or an upscale restaurant in Cruz Bay or maybe a trek across the island to Skinny's for the best burger in paradise are just a few of the things we enjoy on St John. At Gallows, meeting people at the hot tub, talking about all of the sea life we encounter snorkeling around our point or winding down with a sunset cruise has always been part of our ongoing friendship. We hope you and your friends will enjoy Gallows 10B, the resort and island as much as we continue to do every year.
