Why the Owner Chose Grand Sierra Lodge
We have been coming up to Mammoth since high school and love the Sierras, in all seasons as there is so much to do. We bought at the Village because the location is perfect, you never need a car, the Gondola takes you right up to Canyon Lodge and soon there is now a ski back trail right to the back yard of our unit making it a 'ski/in ski/out' location which is great. The Village is by far the best place to be for all the new restaurants, and ease of every amenity you can imagine. Even if we didn't own here, we would be regular guests because it is just so easy and fun and with our unit being on the quiet side of the building, it's just perfect..we think you will agree! :)
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
There is so much to do here at the Village, or NOT to do which is what we like. Our unit is on the quiet side of the main building, Grand Sierra Lodge, and the location is perfect. You can park your car underground for your entire stay and walk to great restaurants, shops, Gondola right outside to take you to Canyon Lodge. In spring, summer, fall enjoy hiking, fishing, backpacking, mountain biking, golf, Bluesapalooza beer festival, Wine Fest, and many other events in Mammoth. In winter..all things 'snow'..spectacular skiing, snowboarding, views of amazing beauty, fresh, clean mountain air. You will love it, and Conde Nast travel just voted Mammoth as one of the top 50 ski destinations in the world! We would agree, and think you will too. About us: Bill is an avid snowboarder, brew master of fine Belgium beers, loves the outdoors for backpacking, cycling and 'unrestricted' space and by 'day' he is a Psychologist working with a large Medical Corporation heading up their specialty division. Lisa is a lover of all things re: the home, baking, gardening, and construction/home remodeling. She is a breast cancer survivor, a Pilates and Aerobics instructor and by 'day' (evenings, weekends, 24/7!) is a realtor in Southern California. They live in Southern CA in a tiny cottage, that has a big yard with lots of animals and a vegetable garden where they grow organic foods to share and enjoy. They both went to UCLA which is where they met (on a blind date!) and fell in love and have been married 21 years. They have no children, but love being an uncle and aunt and have many friends with kids whom they adore. They feel blessed everyday and in many ways..

Perfect weekend getaway! The unit was beautiful, very clean and so close to everything that we never took the car out of the garage! We hit the Mammoth Brewery which was fun; the hot tub was perfect after a long day; and the restaurants and shops were fun. Loved the weekend and hope to come back! Great value, that's for sure! Highly recommend, and I'm very particular about places!! Thank you!!!

This was a great place to stay and very close to everything. The pool was heated and we were able to enjoy it during the day in the middle of October. The condo was exactly as shown and the kitchen had everything that you would need. The owner was excellent to work with and every easy to get a hold of. We will definitley be back and renting the same place. Spent two days fishing and caught 15 fish!! Would love to go in the winter with snow......and maybe without the kids! :)

This is just what you want and hope for in a vacation rental. We found the description, photos, and reviews to be accurate. The condo was spotlessly clean, the kitchen well-equipped, and the bed very comfortable. The owners respond quickly to any questions you may have. The Village is a great location for dining and night-life choices, but that can be a drawback if you're in the "wrong" unit. This unit is truly on the quiet side of the Village. If you go to Mammoth for hiking, as we did, Duck Lake is worth the effort - it's a jewel.

My family and I love coming up to Mammoth and we periodically rent a condo for our stay. This particular condo is located in a wonderful setting with all imaginable amenties. Close to restaurants and shops that are litterally a short walk away (don't need to cross any roads, or drive). Pool , spa, gym , small video games room will keep the kids busy for hours. Underground security parking was a plus and we didnt have issues with our open bed truck. Friendly and receptive staff. The room itself was great - clean, spacious, with a deep tub for soaking, and well stocked kitchen. We appreciated the rooms location at the beginning of a long hallway, being close to all exits/elevators, and we didn't have any problems with noise whatsoever. Would seriously consider using again in the future. Thanks Lisa.

We enjoyed our peaceful, refreshing retreat in the beauty of the mountains with equal beauty inside the condo owned and appointed by Lisa and Bill Gillis. This condo has every amenity anyone could want, whether staying for a few days or a few weeks. We found it natural to refer to this condo as "home" upon returning from hiking or sightseeing for the day. We stayed for 8 days, enjoyed the quiet, conveniently located home within the Village, and got the rest and recreation we were hoping to get. We look forward to coming back!

Stayed four days. Hiked all day then came back to a truly 'home away from home'. The condo has all the comforts you could want, right down to a portable humidifier in case you have trouble with dry mountain air. We especially enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen. It was obvious the owners, Lisa and Bill, care about the comfort of their guests. The lodge concierge was also very helpful, and walking to shops and restaurants is a plus. We would not hesitate to return.

Our family of four had the most amazing time. It was clean, had everything we needed including cooking utensils, paper towels, TP, towels, extra pillows (although we were glad we brought extra blankets/sleeping bags), dishwasher & soap. The location was perfect and the price was right. Cleaning fee seemed a bit high. Overall it was an incredible destination for a weekend getaway.

In reading back over the other reviews, I second all responses! Great place, great location and very reasonable! Loved the proximity to the elevators, lobby, pool & spa, and Village. Owners are so responsive and very friendly. Condo was clean, well equiped and we had everything we needed and all questions answered. Thank you, we had a great time and even a break in the weather!
