Men's Journal voted this neighborhood as ONE OF THE TOP 5 NEIGHBORHOODS in America: "In burgeoning East Highland, Colorado’s capital finally has its own Brooklyn. Overlooking the downtown skyline, E-Hi's brick brownstones, row houses, and modern condominium complexes are bringing in single professionals who party like grown-ups, couples who aren’t quite ready to settle down, and young families who are looking for a little more color than they might find in the increasingly beige neighborhoods of Cherry Creek or Washington Park. Up the 15th Street hill is the neighborhood’s core, where unique restaurants and bars are multiplying at such a clip that the area has already established itself as the destination district for the rest of the city. Vita’s rooftop terrace is usually packed with the city’s smart set (but without the attitude), and high-end Mexican place Lola offers up a new twist on tacos, with an excellent view of the downtown skyline. Locals know oddly shaped Little Man Ice Cream as “the giant milk can,” and Root Down, the city’s most interesting new restaurant, is a rehabbed gas station with a mod-retro vibe and the South Platte River Greenway, a five-minute downhill spin from the center of East Highland, offers the best urban biking in town. For a midweek fix, check out the 45-foot-high climbing wall at REI’s massive flagship store, housed in an impressive century-old brick building. Or, for those who prefer escaping farther into the city, a new pedestrian footbridge handily links East Highland to LoDo (Lower Downtown) high-rises and nightclubs, along with Coors Field, the city’s beautiful retro ballpark."

Beautiful home with amazing location

I stayed there for four nights to go to a Broncos game and go skiing with a group of friends. We were all amazed with the house. Everything about the house was five star including the owners. The transactions and communication with the owner could NOT have been better. As for the house, one word, AMAZING! I would love to call a house like that, my own. The location was great, the sidewalk lead right to Mile High Stadium. We thought we would drive to 16th street mall, it turned out we could have walked there! The interior of the house was above and beyond any rental I have ever seen. From the furniture to the linens, it was all top notch. The backyard was awesome. It might have been December, but we spent every night out back. The fire place, hot tub, water fall, and heater lead to amazing nights. I can honestly say I would recommend this house to anybody wanting to come to Denver and stay in a beautiful home!!
Owner response:WOW!!! Matt, we are speechless (which is pretty unusual!). Chuck and I can't be happier that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay AND the Broncos won. :) Someone even asked if we've seen any bumper stickers saying "Tim Tebow for President". Thank you so much for the wonderful review. We try hard to make everything nice for our guests, and truly appreciate it when it is noticed. We have to humbly agree that it is a pretty nice place! We'd love to have you guys back for another home game. Thanks again. Ginger and Chuck

We stayed at this home for 5 days and all the pictures do not do it justice, it is absolutely beautiful. Owners - The owners are very responsive, available and professional. The transaction of renting the home and whole process in general (getting there, stay, departure) had no bumps and the owners were very helpful. House - There is a 2 car garage then entry to the back yard which is an oasis with hot tub, patio tables/chairs, grill/fridge, fire pit. The kitchen is fully equipped from high end appliances to every kitchen item one would need to be functional. In the kitchen is also a desk area. The living/dining area is spacious with stereo and plenty of seating. There are 2 master bedrooms upstairs, and the basement has another super nice living area & bar and bedroom with bunk beds, laundry, etc. The house decor is amazing, stocked with toiletries, towels, etc. Location - The location is so close to the freeway and easy access to many hot areas in Denver. In summary, great experience, beautiful house, just pack your clothes and show up and be ready to enjoy a cozy yet fully equipped home. I would absolutely stay here again!
Owner response:Hi Doris! Thank you so much for the kind words and enthusiastic review! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay in Denver. We have to humbly agree that the location is pretty terrific. :) We work hard to make sure the home (especially the kitchen and bathrooms) is well stocked with everything our guests need. We also take pride in responding quickly and professionally to inquiries and questions. It is very gratifying to hear you loved it! We hope you come back sometime to experience Denver in another beautiful season. ---Ginger and Chuck

We stayed at this beautiful property while in town for a week for a family wedding. It is every bit as lovely as it looks in the photos, but the location really made the whole trip incredible! Here are some of the great adventures that we enjoyed: --Walked to Coors Field for a Rockies game --Ran on the Cherry Creek and Platt River paths almost every morning --Picked up cruiser bikes for rent (only $6 !) and cruised Cherry Creek --Explored the Children's Museum and Downtown Aquarium (5 minute drive!) --Walked to LoDo (Lower Downtown) and caught the free 16th Street Mall bus --Easy driving from central location to wedding events around town If you are a fit and active family, don't pass up this wonderful spot! The owners were very professional (you'll see this from the very first email) and the house and gorgeous yard are perfectly maintained.
Owner response:Thank you so much for the kind words Helen! The terrific location is why we originally bought our home and then later thought it would make a great VRBO. We are so glad you and your family had a great time during your stay in Denver! There is no better place than Denver in the summer for fabulous outdoor activities, or our beautiful backyard for relaxing in the hot tub or hosting a family/group BBQ. Please come back to visit Denver in the winter. Our mountains are spectacular! --Ginger and Chuck

Owner response:Hi Dat. I'm really glad you guys had a great time at our Denver VRBO. We have had lots of large groups stay there and the house seemed to work out well for them. Come back to see us in the summer. The backyard is really beautiful then with lots of flowers, a big waterfeature, hot tubing, and BBQing. Of course, hanging out in the hot tub while it snows is pretty cool too! (No pun intended!) Thanks for taking a few minutes to share your thougths. ----Ginger

This clean property really fit our needs well. Eight members of our family all flew in from various states to celebrate Thanksgiving together. The kitchen was great to cook such a large meal in; the owner even bought us several new dishes so we could cook with ease! We have great memories of sitting around the outside fireplace and heat lamp after our feast! The owners were very helpful and accomodating. We loved the location and could walk to so many places, our favorite being the LoDo area. It would be fun to return during a warmer season!

Ginger, My wife and I were part of the Chadwick group over the first week of October and as far as we are concerned this place is as good as it gets in Denver. Close to everything downtown, and has a great little backyard for relaxing and grilling. This place is in tip top condition too...very clean. Just a great place to come back to after each day of sightseeing and concerts. We are already talking about making this an annual trip, and this will be the place we stay everytime. It was definitely the anchor piece to an amazing vacation on the other side of the Rockies. Thanks again for everything! Jon & Rena
Owner response:Hi Jon and Rena! I'm so glad you guys had a great time on your Denver birthday get-a-way! Isn't Red Rocks Amphitheater just the best place to see a concert?! Many famous concert videos have been filmed there. (We have even been in one...LOL!) I understand you saw Denver at its best when the Race for the Cure went right down the street Saturday morning. Last year it was the biggest race in the country. And thanks for mentioning that the property was very clean. It is gratifying to hear our efforts to make it comfortable and spotless are noticed. I hope you guys can make this an annual retreat. Wyandot will be waiting! --Ginger

We rented this property for a couples retreat in Denver to fufill my dream of seeing a show at Red Rocks in celebration of mine and a friends birthday. We could not be more happy with our stay!! The place was just as we expected from the pictures and more! We were all so sad for our vacation to end, we absolutely love the Denver area and this property was ideal for experiencing all that Denver has to offer. It's literally across the freeway from the Pepsi Center, Elitch Gardens and Lower Downtown. We went to Elitch Gardens and had a great time, hit the 16th Street Mall, drove to Estes Park and had a ghost tour at the Stanley Hotel, ate at the Morrison Inn in Morrison, tailgated at Red Rocks and experienced an amazing concert at the most amazing venue I've ever been to. When we arrived everything was clean and properly maintained. The pantry and refrigerator were stocked with all kinds of essentials, with a quick trip to the grocery store we were set for the weekend with all the food we needed to eat in for breakfast and lunches! Saved us a ton of money having a place to cook and eat in. The backyard patio is perfect for grilling steaks for a night in, which we enjoyed! Ginger was the ultimate host. She was helpful and available by phone with advice and instructions when needed. I will highly recommend this property to my friends and family who may be traveling to Denver and I plan on staying here anytime I vacation in the Denver area in the future! Thanks for everything Ginger!! You're the best!!
Owner response:Erin!! You are so sweet! This is just what we love to hear as a VRBO property owner: our guests had a great and relaxing time, had exciting adventures in and around Denver (including the fabulous concert venue Red Rocks Amphitheater), loved the property, and can't wait to come back. We feel so lucky to have wonderful guests like you guys. By the way, Denver is also pretty amazing in the winter, with snow falling around the hot tub and world class skiing an hour or two away. Come check it out! Thanks again for the "kind" words. --Ginger

Perfect house for a bachelor party weekend
Guest: Bob
(Wyoming)

Review Submitted: 09/29/10
Eight of us recently met in Denver for a bachelor party weekend which included a Bronco Football game. We found the house perfectly met our needs. It was close to Downtown and only a mile from Invesco field. It had easy access from the interstate and since several nights were spent downtown, it was a short taxi ride when the celebrations for the evenings were over. The house was exactly as described and provided a place where we could all just lay around and enjoy each other's company. The owner was great to work with and left plenty of notes so that within a few hours we knew how to operate everything and knew where items where. The Safeway Store on Federal Bldv provided all the food we needed and was very clean and nice. I highly recommend this property for anyone spending time in Denver.
Owner response:Bob, I'm really glad you guys had such a good time. And thanks for leaving the house in such good shape....for a bachelor party! We agree that a short and inexpensive taxi ride (5 minutes and less than $10 with tip) to and from downtown at night is the way to go. You can also walk to Invesco Field or Coors Field, or take a short taxi ride there and back. It is good to know that even with a large group, the house has enough private spaces for people to "get away" plus great spaces for everyone to be together. Please come back to visit after the wedding. The backyard is great for couples, too. The hot tub and fireplace are awesome with falling snow! ---Ginger

My family and I rented this amazing house for the week while we were in Denver for our son's wedding. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed. We had our grandchildren, a 6 year old and a 3 year old, with us and the downstairs was a perfect place for them to unwind and have their own space. We were able to relax and not worry about being in a hotel. The back yard was a fantastic oasis for everyone. The owners had it timed so that 2 water lilies bloomed while we were there! The kitchen provided everything we needed. Shopping is close by. We hope to use this very convenient location the next time we are in town. Thanks for making the week so much more enjoyable than it already was!
Owner response:Thank you, Mary, for your kind words. We love hosting families and groups attending weddings! The house sems to work out great, especially for large parties, and parties with kids. I know how hectic that time can be, so I'm glad you were able to relax a little bit. Please come back to visit when you have more time and can take in all that Denver has to offer, including our beautiful mountains. There's nothing quite like being in a hot tub with the snow falling all around and a roaring fire in the fireplace. --Ginger

We rented this property for our son's wedding week. This was the perfect location/house for our families to come together and relax between the wedding events. We would start with coffee on the deck, breakfast in the gourmet kitchen and end with grilling dinner on the back patio and a few minutes in the hot tub. The house was setup perfectly (very clean) with everything we needed. We could walk downtown or for ice cream at the Cream Can. We were in the center of the action and everything was within 15 minutes. We highly recommend this property for anyone wanting a great Denver vacation.
Owner response:Thanks Tim and Gloria! I'm so happy your son's wedding week went well. And thank you for sending a picture of your family! It was great to put faces to names. We have had quite a few wedding parties stay there, and I am grateful to know our efforts to set up the house with everything you need to host dinners or parties have worked out. I really appreciate that you took such great care of the house and left it so clean! I hope that you can come back to Denver sometime soon and get a chance to really relax at the house and enjoy Denver fully. ---Ginger
