Molly's Dune is a wonderful home located in Pirate's Beach! My family and I , two sons (1 & 4 years old) and my hubby, went down to Galveston for a very last minute get away. Nancy was super helpful and her willingness to get us booked made the trip that much easier. She is probably one of the most thorough owners we have ever worked with...down to the very detailed arrival instructions. The house is very cute, nicely equipped and perfect for big or small children. The fenced in yard made our outside play very relaxing and enjoyable. There is even a sliding built in gate on the top patio to keep the little ones from climbing stairs. Overall I would 100% recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing get away. Beach time @ Seaside Cottage!

This was our second time renting the Seaside Cottage house for the weekend! I gotta say the whole family enjoys and love it and their the ones that wanted to re-rent the same house because it's so close to the beach and it's very relaxing and peaceful. Despite the strong wind on Saturday, the kids didnt get to enjoy the water, but that didn't stop them from sun bathing or just lounging around.. We deffinately will be returning again next season! Thanks again Nancy for welcoming us into your beautiful home!

We Loved Molly's Dune!

The beachy decor at Molly's Dune instantly put us in Vacation-Relaxation mode! Loved the comfy beds - especially the huge master King. The kitchen is very well-equipped; we made several meals at the house and found everything we needed. It was easy to settle in and feel at home. The neighborhood is perfect for a family vacation - it felt very safe for the kids to explore on their bikes and chase down the ice cream truck. My favorite part of the house was the front porch - with a gently breeze & a cocktail in hand!

Just returned from a long weekend stay at Molly's Dune. This house is lovely, everything is in top shape, clean, new. Loved sitting on the front porch and enjoying the breeze. The ocean is not visible from the house, but just a few short blocks to walk to the beach. I cannot recommend it more highly. It is very well maintained, even the flowers in the front and the well kept lawn which is enclosed with a white picket fence. So, it is kid friendly for sure. The lower ground floor space has a great table and chairs for out door dining and a propane grill. It was also nice to have access to the Galveston Country Club, although we never pulled ourselves away to take advantage of that.

Labor Day Vacation 2011

We (4 adults and 4 young children) stayed at Molly Dune for the Labor Day weekend. We had a fabulous time! We did not want to leave. Molly's Dune is beautiful. We loved the bright decor and the beds and furniture were very comfortable. We all felt right at home. Everything was just as we expected and more. The fenced yard and upper deck gate was great for the kids. The outdoor shower was also very nice as to not track sand inside. We can't thank you enough for a fabulous vacation.

Our family of eight, including two teenagers, an 8-year old and a 4-year old, had a great time. We were very comfortable and even though the temperature outside was in the mid to high 90's, the Gulf breeze kept it pleasant and we spent most of our time outside -- on the front porch or the patio underneath the house or on the beach. We used the propane grill and ate at the table downstairs several times. Very clean, nicely maintained with comfortable furnishings and charming decor. We'll be back and will stay longer next time.

Your beach house was wonderful and it was definetely everything we expected and we totally enjoyed every single day of our stay! We were very pleased to see that everything you offered was truly there for the enjoyment! The house was very bright and cheery and very clean! The location was perfect for beach, stores, shopping, everything was in reach and it was nice to have the pool and golf course usage as well...that was a GREAT perk! The grandkids thought the place was awesome!! :) Again, we do appreciate you opening your home up to us to rent and should our next vacation be yet another beach house stay, Molly's Dune will for sure be on the top of the list! :)

Well equipped, nice home with Country Club Access

We enjoyed our time at Molly's Dune. We normally stay in Pointe West but thought we would stay a little closer in for once. The house is well equipped and nicely located. You have access to the GCC for a daily fee of $5 per person for the pool, which has a covered kids pool. GCC itself is OK for a club, a little outdated. The porch on the house is very comfortable but there is no beach view at all. The walk to the beach is long in the summer heat if you are carrying anything other than a cold drink! The master bed is OK but not great. The kitchen stove is a flat top range. The decor is sparse outside of the paint in the two front rooms and the linens are not so very special. Overall, I liked the house well enough and enjoyed our stay. Nancy was easy to work with and very responsive. But, for the amount we paid in high season, I would probably pick a different house next time or return to Pointe West.

Owner response:I've never had anything but rave reviews on my home so I am surprised at a couple of this guest's comments. After reading her review I counted the "decor" on the walls and it totaled up to 56 peices of wall art not counting the "decor items" on shelves & tables.... so I'm not sure she actually stayed in my home, but the photos speak for themselves. The beach is a 4-5 minute walk away as clearly stated on the web description, and I even suggested that she drive her vehicle down to the end of the street at the beach if she had chairs, etc to carry... evidently she forgot to do this. The mattresses are brand new pillowtops, the same as I have in my main home, and I have received numerous emails & comments from guests regarding the "surprisingly cushy beds". Upon inquiring to rent my home this guest bad-mouthed her Pointe West experience so maybe she is inordinately difficult to please. My home has Pottery Barn and Ralph Lauren furnishings, but maybe she desires something different. I strive to assure that the guests in my home have a great experience.

We stayed at Molly's Dune over the weekend and we had a blast! The stay went by too quickly, so we are definitely planning a longer stay for next time:). If you are looking for a cozy beach house this is the place to go. The beach is a short drive away and there are several other locations to set up for your beach day:) We hope you enjoy!

We found this home very clean and comfortable. The decor is very nice, cheerful and uncluttered. We especially appreciated the gate at the top of the stairs, fenced in yard and uncluttered decor for the sake of our toddler. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked for a vacation home. We cooked every evening and not once couldn't find the right tools. This house has everything! Nancy, the owner, was a joy to work with!

RELAXING GETAWAY

Our stay at Molly's Dune was AWESOME! We were excited to see how the pictures were a true reflection of what we saw when we got to the home. The location was great and we weren't far from area resturants, stores and attractions. Molly's Dune was across the street from the Golf Course and minutes away from attractions like Moody Gardens and other activities on or near the seawall. The house was very clean, spacious and maintained from top to bottom. The beach was just a nice walk away from the home. From the General Store across the way to surrounding neighbors, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The owner was wonderful and very helpful in answering our questions and this made our stay even more enjoyable. I won't hesitate recommending Molly's Dune to anyone I know and I hope to visit again very soon!

Nancy, just wanted to let you know we had a great time at your beach house. We had everything we needed for a nice, relaxing few days. We loved our stay at Molly's Dune over spring break 2011. The house was great, with everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Kitchen and living area is big and bright, master bedroom is huge. Outdoor areas are perfect for relaxing and enjoying the ocean breeze, day or night. House is very close to the beach, walking distance, but if you are taking a load to the beach, its a 1 minute drive. We will definitely be back.

We just returned from 4 days in your beautiful home. We had a wonderful time and have never stayed in a home that was so well equipped (we usually rent homes when we travel so this is not our first experience) and that was so warm and inviting. There were 3 generations in the home and we all enjoyed staying there. The sliding gate on the deck was an unexpected bonus to keep the little ones safe but not restrict them from enjoying the wonderful breeze and sounds of the ocean whether we were cooking a meal or sitting out enjoying the deck. The fenced in play area also gave the adults the ability to relax and let the little ones play without worrying about their safety. Nancy you were a pleasure to work with and it now feels like you are a friend. We highly recommend this home, it's gracious owner and will be staying here again on our next trip to the beach.

We stayed at the house in Nov 09. We've stayed in several beach houses on Pirates Beach and this is one of the nicest. The layout with 3 bedrooms, front room and kitchen/dining area, as well as the outside deck make the house perfect for families. The beach is a couple of minute walk in one direction and a convenience and liquor store are a minute drive in the other direction, what could be better? Owner is responsive and easy to work with.

Nancy, What a great beach house... we loved the beautiful furnishings and super comfortable beds & sofas. I was also really impressed with your kitchen... it was incredibly well stocked for a rental property. We felt it was a great value for being so close to the beach & I enjoyed the nice gas grill outside and patio dining furniture. The kids got to the beach in 3 minutes flat (2 minutes ahead of me)
