Year Purchased: 2007
We kept treaveling to warm climates for years before our move to Florida as we lived in the Western suburbs of Chicago and could not wait to get out of the cold, dreary weather. We looked for a long time before purchasing this house and have renovated it and provided all the amenities of our own permanent home. We love it when we are down here and enjoy spending time relaxing at the beach or by our heated pool.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Mid Island
This location on Fort Myers Beach has the widest, soft, white sandy beach on all of Fort Myers Beach and is in a residential location, but shopping, restaurants, and movie theater is less than 1 mile away and Times Square is accessible using our beach trolley so you don't have to drive and pay for parking in that area. The sand sculpting festival is held across the street on our beach once a year and sculptors come from around the world in October to participate in the contest and it is amazing and something you don't want to miss seeing. We also like to get dressed up in our pirates costumes for the pirate landing and festival which is also one time a year. We have a lot of fun on the beach even being outside on the beach dancing at happy hour.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Benefits of staying at our property are that it is kept in immaculate condition, across the street from the beach, and located in a quiet residential area but just a short distance to night life, movie, doctor, shopping and restaurants. It's fully equipped just like your home. It sleeps up to six people with a king bed in the master and two twins in the guest bedroom and a pull out . It is heated and air conditioned with ceiling fans. Sitting on the dock overlooking the canal is fun because you get to fish and also watch the "Jumping fish". Yes there are really jumping fish. Birds come to visit us by the pool which is heated and has chaise lounges around it for relaxing and rafts are provided for floating in the pool. But most important is that it is kept in immaculate condition and is so relaxing. It is a real getaway from reality.
