Our secluded mountain log home is a throw back to the real Colorado before strip malls, traffic jams, and light pollution. Here your vacation starts with a dead-on unobstructed view of majestic 12,900 ft Mt Sopris as it towers 6,800 ft (Americas greatest vertical) above the top-ranked adventure town of Carbondale.
The secluded 5 acre mountainside property delivers solitude, relaxation, and the convenience of a short 5 minute drive to town. From the wrap-around deck, you will feel enveloped and embraced by a thick green pine forest without a neighbor in sight. At night, enjoy the full splendor of the Milky Way or a moonlit Mt. Sopris from our private hot tub retreat tucked away in the forest.
Just like the first settlers of the Roaring Fork Valley, you will be bedding down in a rustic log home. But unlike those hearty soles, you will have all the modern conveniences like high speed internet, hi-def TVs, and modern Viking equipped kitchen. The 2000 sq ft home feels spacious with upstairs and downstairs living rooms and an elegantly appointed rustic modern interior. Enjoy family time on our cozy leather couches, retreat to the office for a read, watch the kids play ping pong in the garage, or retire to our western log beds with new linens.
Sure…you could spend a fortune to stay ski in ski out in Aspen but why…the real charm of Colorado is a short drive down valley and the views better. We hope to have you as our guests.

Great Get Away in Aspen Area

We thought about Aspen but the price and views are better here down valley. Only a short drive up to skiing and so much more Colorado in feel that being jammed in a resort town. Its a cozy log home with a great piece of property. Your on a steep mountain side in a forested area with a feeling of seclusion. House has great Franklin Stove fireplace which adds to cozy feel. Just what we wanted.

A gorgeous well-kept Colorado experience in the heart of this outdoor playground! Only 20 minutess to the skiing, nightlife and shopping in Aspen!!! Every amenity was provided for and can't wait to return back to this log house with my extended family and friends. The hot-tub, panoramic views, kitchen, bathrooms and sleeping arrangements are luxurious.

I expected this house might be sort of average based on the price I paid, but I was very pleasantly surprised to the up-side. About a quarter of what I'd have paid in Aspen, it had all sorts of great features such as: big flat screen tvs, high end kitchen, 5 bedrooms nicely appointed, three bathrooms, game room w/ping pong, two living areas, hot tob, view, nice dining room area for playing board games with friends and family (I played many games of uno and clue with my parents) easy access location etc. but what I really thought stood out from many places is that there is a downstairs with bedrooms and living room and upstairs with bedrooms and living room. This allows you for a lot of privacy from the other guests staying with you. I also liked how well built and heavy duty the wood was in this house. Even the furniture was really nice to sit in front of the fireplace. Oh, and lastly - the beds were very comfortable. Being there in June was interesting. We went to dinner at Snowmass, festival at Aspen, rodeo! in Carbondale (this was way more fun than any rodea ive seen on tv) nice bars in Carbondale, where we watched game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. We also played golf at a very low priced golf course about 2 miles down the road. It was very pretty and well-maintained as well. Next trip for us to stay in this house again will be during ski season which we are excited about. This summer stay was great. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give the house about an 8, but with the location and especially the very fair price that raises the overall experience to a 9+. I'm very happy there are still good honest people out there willing to rent at a very nice price rate:)

his property was absolutely perfect for my family. The house had EVERYTHING we needed / wanted and enough space to spread out at our leisure during our stay, which was priceless for all 3 generations of family who made the trip. It had the peace and quite of Colorado nature but still only 10 minutes from Carbondale (and a 30 minutes beautiful drive to Glenwood Springs). All of the furnishings were both aesthetic and comfortable. My Grandmother loved to watch the deer in the mornings while enjoying her coffee and although we didn't have enough time to experience it, the hot tub had an AMAZING view. I would recommend this property to anyone for a short stay or a long stay alike. If we return to Carbondale this will definitely be where we stay. Thanks again!!

Abosolutely beautiful cabin, Good location (only about 10-15 from Glenwood springs and El Jebel) Very well stocked and clean. I would recommend staying here to anyone. Our bachelorette party had an amazing time and there was plenty of space for everyone.

I was looking for something different than I get in the city. I did not want golf course community, city thing, or something buried in the valley. I hunted around and this house fit the bill. I was able to really relax in the private location without any neighbors but a great view of the stunning Sopris peak. The log home was spacious enough for our entire family of 9. Downstairs separate living room was perfect for the kids to have their own getaway. Nightlife and dining in Carbondale was very close short drive. Only issue we had was ants on the porch but I think it was just that time of year. For the $s this beats other places I have stayed in the area. We plan on returning for ski season again and will rent this place as its close to the slopes but you get better views in Carbondale down valley.

I highly recommend this cabin for families or for a romantic couples retreat. The log home is nestled in the mountains, but is only 5 minutes away from Carbondale main street. The inside is spacious, clean and has large, flat screen televisions and a Viking cook top in the kitchen. The owner is extremely friendly and available any time of the day for questions (I called him a couple times). The outside has a phenomenal view of Mt. Sopris with a large, wrap around deck...and a brand new BBQ grill! I've stayed at a number of places in the Roaring Fork Valley and will definitely come back to this cabin for another great vacation.
