Our family of 5 stayed at this property for 4 nights. We would have stayed longer but wanted to see the other side of the island and didn't want to drive back and forth. We all agreed that the accomodations were excellent. The home is so nice and comfotable and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. My son-in-law said it was the nicest place he had ever stayed! The location was perfect, quiet, peaceful but close to everything in the area. The downstairs rental area was more than enough room for the 5 of us. It could have easily accomodated more people. Ralph is a very gracious host and provided lots of helpful information about the area. All 5 of us would highly recommend this home to anyone looking to vacation on the Bid Island.
Owner response:We love our renters. Thanks to all who choose to make our place theirs.

Our group of six stayed at this Kona house during the Queen Liliu'okalani outrigger canoe races. When we first drove up to the house, we thought we may have had the wrong house because it was sooo nice:) We had a wonderful experience there. it is spacious, fully self contained. There was everything we needed and more. The kitchen was well equipped; beds all comfortable; the TV room had a great supply of DVDs and the ping pong table ad games were a great addition. The house is a short drive down the hill to restaurants, shops and the ocean. You get the early morning sunrise over mountain from the back of the house and can sit around the front in the evening to view the beautiful sunset over the ocean. The backyard is a well manicured paradise. We would recommend the house to our friends and family for sure!

Our group of seven stayed at the Kailua Kona home for six nights. The rental area is the lower half of the home that the owner lives in. We seldom ran into or heard each other. I asked if we were making too much noise and the owner said no; I think he was being nice. There is space for two cars in the driveway. The home is situated in a quiet neighborhood overlooking downtown Kailua Kona and the ocean, which are minutes away. The home is very comfortable. There are three bedrooms, which allowed for each of the three couples in our group to have their own. Our daughter slept in one of the four twin size beds in the cubicle area. One of the bedrooms is separated from the main living area by a curtain instead of a door-I'm guessing that this is because it doesn't have an egress window to exit through in case of an emergency-which makes it a little less private than the other two bedrooms. However, this last bedroom is still very comfortable to sleep in. All of the rooms have overhead fans to help circulate the air. The kitchen is nice and has plenty of dishes, pots, pans and utensils. This makes it easy to cook in for most meals. There are two sink areas, each with their own refrigerator; the second refrigerator came in handy. There is also a propane powered grill on the patio that you're allowed to use. There are two bathrooms, each with its own shower. There are plenty of towels, but there is a washer and dryer in one of the closets in case you run out. Having the washer and dryer makes it easy to pack light since you can do laundry during the week, if you're so inclined. The media room is handy if you happen to be there long enough to get tired of all of the beaches-Did you know the water goes all the way around!-snorkeling, seeing the volcanoes, zip lining, shopping, etc... My only complaints are that the Halo 3 DVD is scratched and won't load and the Packer game wasn't on any of the 100's of channels! The yard is nicely landscaped and makes for very scenic breakfasts. The hammock became a favorite place to relax for everyone, one-at-a-time that is. We didn't see any turkeys, but we heard a couple of gobblers one morning. Highly recommended.

This peaceful home has become part of my daughter's weeding pictures. We where there from May 2 until May 8, 2010. We where 10 adults and this place has plenty of room for everybody, very gorgeous back yard, one morning i was resting on the hammock when a wild turkey flew over and landed on the yard, I think it was a turkey. The owner lives upstairs, but you don't even notice, he is a very nice and friendly person.

OUR FAMILY STAYED AT THE SUDBURY PROPERTY 5/18 - 24/2010. WE WERE IN HAWAII TO WITNESS OUR SON'S WEDDING. WE HAD SIX IN OUR GROUP. MY PARENTS, WHO ARE IN THEIR 80'S LOVED THE PATIO AND THE BACKYARD. IT WAS THEIR FAVORITE PLACE TO BE. ALONG WITH MY PARENTS WERE MY WIFE, MYSELF AND OUR TWENTY-SOMETHING DAUGHTER AS WELL AS OUR TWENTY-SOMETHING SON WHO GOT MARRIED. THE PROPERTY WAS AS IT WAS PRESENTED IN THE PICTURES ON THE INTERNET. IT WAS CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED. ANY QUESTIONS WE HAD WERE PROMPTLY ANSWERED. IT WAS RELAXING AND COMFORTABLE. IT MADE OUR STAY IN KONA AN ENJOYABLE ONE. ONE DAY THE OWNER LEFT FRESH BANANAS FROM THE BACKYARD FOR US TO ENJOY. THE LAYOUT OF THE LIVING SPACE WAS VERY NICE. WITH THREE BEDROOMS AND TWO BATHROOMS AND IT WORKED WELL FOR OUR FAMILY. THE KITCHEN WAS GREAT. WE USED IT MAINLY FOR BREAKFAST AND LUNCH. I AM RECOMMENDING THIS PROPERTY TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY WHO HAVE ASKED ABOUT OUR TRIP TO THE ISLANDS. WE ENJOYED A DINNER CRUISE ONE EVENING AND ATTENDED A LUAU ANOTHER EVENING. WE ALSO DID AN ISLAND TOUR THROUGH ROBERTS HAWAII TOURS AND I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT. OUR TOUR GUIDE WAS HARVEY MOO AND HE ENLIGHTENED US CONCERNING THE ISLAND OF HAWAII FOR THE ENTIRE DAY. HARVEY SUGGESTED WE EAT AT QUINN'S AND THAT WAS A VERY GOOD DINING EXPERIENCE. THE HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP TO KONA WAS WATCHING OUR SON AND DAUGHTER-IN-LAW BE MARRIED IN THE LDS KONA TEMPLE AND OUR STAY AT THE SUDBURY PROPERTY CAME IN A CLOSE SECOND. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY TO A GROUP OF TEN OR SMALLER. OUR GROUP OF SIX FIT VERY COMFORTABLY.

We came to Kona with high expectations, but this home far exceeded them. The house was perfect for my family of four, including two small children. The interior is immaculate, with stunning and tasteful details throughout. The home was also perfectly clean and very well equipped, with all of the kitchen equipment, entertainment, and beach gear we could ever hope for. The backyard is even better than the interior, if that is possible. The landscaping is spectacular, with mature fruit trees, lots of shade, an expansive grassy play area, an extremely comfortable hammock, a view of sunrise over the volcano, and a large shaded table for dining and spending time. The house sits on the very edge of a residential area, so the back yard faces undeveloped, quiet mountainside, the front has unobstructed ocean views, and there is no traffic noise at all (just birds chirping). I can't say enough good things about this home, or the kindness of Ralph and his family. Thanks so much to all of you!!

Our family of seven adults stayed at this property for two weeks, we really cannot think of a bad thing to say about it. It was very spacious, clean, nicely decorated and the yard is nothing short of amazing. Ralph was very helpful and even though he lives upstairs in the house you feel like you have the place all to yourselves. Everything you could possibly need is there and if you should think of something missing, Ralph is more than happy to find it for you. We really wanted to have the real Kona coffee and after purchasing some we found no coffee grinder in the house but as soon as we asked we had one delivered to us. We cooked most of our dinners at the house and ate all our meals out on the lanai with the beautiful view of the yard, it was so relaxing and a great way to spend family time connecting with one another. Our favourite beach was Hapuna and it was quite a drive to get there but we did it almost every day and had a blast with the boogie boards. Coming back to Ralph's home was so great after a long day out exploring and playing in the water. We would definately come back and stay here and would recommend it to any one especially if you have a larger group. Downtown is a very short drive and lots of good restaurants, the farmers market and shopping are just minutes away.

Our group of 5 adults and 4 kids LOVED this property! The house is lovely and our group never felt crowded. Ralph and family are super hosts; if we had any questions they were ready and willing to help. We found the home to be exceptionally clean, tastefully decorated and well stocked with amenities. I would recommend this home to anyone, and I will definitely stay in this home again!
