You will love our Tahoe House as much as we do during all of the seasons of the year...Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring are all great times for a great family/friends getaway to Tahoe House.
Situated in the family friendly neighborhood of Tahoe Swiss Village and only two blocks from the private HOA beach with two piers and ample beach area. The location is ideal for year-round activities and is only 5 miles from Tahoe City, 1 mile to Homewood Ski Resort and is close to many other ski areas, hiking & biking trails, shops and restaurants.
The cabin can accommodate up to 12 people with a bright open floor plan with 5 bedrooms & 3 remodeled bathrooms. The large and sunny decks to the front and back of the house are equipped with a BBQ, patio furniture & lounge swings. A brand new 7 person hot tub is situated on the back deck which is perfect for warming up after a dip in the lake, or soaking after a long day of skiing. The new furnishings, TV, DVD, VCR and stereo offers the comforts of home. The house also includes high-speed internet access with wireless modem. Children are welcome and the inclusion of a port-a-crib and booster seat, plus plenty of toys & games, make it a very child friendly vacation rental. We are past residents of Tahoe and we return frequently for visits. After many VRBO stays, the Chigos house rates Number One! So perfect for our three grown sons, one of whom is married with two young children. The downstairs is perfect for games, pool, air hockey, watching football on the flat screen....family fun. Many bunk beds for all who want to sleep down there. The adults can enjoy their own time in the spacious upstairs, with so many amenities I couldn't do the home justice! The kitchen is, by far, the best we've experienced in a rental. The location is ideal--a 5 minute drive to Homewood, near Tahoe City, Tahoe House bakery (one of our favorites!) and the Fire Sign, which is a Tahoe institution for breakfast and lunch. Easy walk to the lake, yet off the main highway. Very quiet and private. Great beds, so clean....Yup. I could go on and on. Thanks so much, Philip. We will be back very soon!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: That pretty much sums up how three generations of our family feels about The Tahoe House. The house has been such a wonderful blessing for our family for these past 40 years. We are equally as happy to have the opportunity to share this treasure with considerate and lovely families such as yours for years to come. Until next time.... Cheers, Philip

Our group of three families with 5 kids had a blast at The Tahoe House. We skied at Homewood, which was about a 3 minute drive. We came back to the cabin for lunch everyday and to rest our feet in comfort and headed back for the quick drive to the mountain. The cabin has abundant living area so both the parents and children could enjoy their "serenity" while on vacation. The three bathrooms are all remodeled and beautiful. The best amenity of the cabin was the large and wonderful hot tub on the back deck. We took in the stars while soaked in the hot tub every night and could not think of a better way to end each and every great day vacationing in Tahoe.Did you find this review helpful? We spent our magic white Christmas with our family friends at this very lovely house. The house was perfect for our perfect vacation. The owner was very nice and accommodating, we were able to check into the house earlier than our originally scheduled time due to the heavy snow storm. The house was very nicely decorated. It’s only a mile away from Homewood Ski Resort, which makes dropping and picking up the kids to and from the ski very easy. We will definitely come back for future vacations, we will also recommend this house to our friends. Thanks for letting us celebrate our holidays at your house!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, pet owners, families with young children, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We rented this house for a family gathering and it was perfect. Conveniently located on the West Shore, close to Sunnyside and Tahoe City. The dock and private beach are walking distance from the cabin. The house was clean, well-maintained and with great amenities (hot tub, pool table and air hockey). The house is exactly as described or better. The owners were very helpful and responsive to all of our questions. We highly recommend this property and can't wait to stay here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

What a perfect house and a perfect vacation. The house was so well equipped and clean. Everything you could want in a Tahoe house and more. Owners generously share tubes and extra sleeping bags and blow up beds. Game room and downstairs in general was the perfect hangout for ALL the kids. Proximity to the lake was perfect with it's own beach for the days we didn't feel like loading the car or for sitting on the pier for an evening cocktail! Thank you for sharing your home with us.....we will be backRecommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind words. Our family is incredibly happy to share the treasure of this house and Tahoe with people who equally appreciate the Tahoe House. Our family of 12, three grown children and their spouses and 4 grandchildren, spent a fantastic week in the Homewood Home. The house is beautifully decorated, bathrooms are modern and well appointed, and the beds are so comfortable. We loved the two decks for morning coffee or dining as the sun disappears into the forest. The kitchen was well equipped with high end appliances and every piece of cookware you could need. The private beach was a surprising treat. We were able to lauch our kayaks with just a short walk. The game room was very entertaining to the kids, (big and little). Can't wait to come back next year.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing.

We loved our stay at the Chigos Home in Tahoe. We were surprised to find the home even better than it appeared on the web site. The pictures do not do this home justice. The kitchen is much larger than it looks - well stocked with everything you need, and a wonderful professional cookstove. We spent much of our time in the game room. Pool table and full air hockey table were the highlight of our weekend! Close walk to the lake and hiking trails. We loved the fact that this place felt like home to us and we are so grateful that this family is willing to share their beautiful home. The home was equipped with baby gate for the stairs, a high chair and porta crib.- Also the additional full living room downstairs was a wonderful bonus room with a fold out King size bed which was reported by a family member as the most comfortable fold out bed she had slept on. We loved it here and will stay here again! Last thing this home can accomodate a large group or multiple families - very roomy and all the comforts of homeRecommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

Having been to Tahoe many times both during summer and winter visits, I was so pleasantly surprised at how amazingly nice this home was! We were travelling with another family and all had kids ranging from 10-16 - needless to say that there was plenty of space for all of us to enjoy! The bunk room slept the 5 kids with room to spare, they had their own living room adjacent and their own bathroom, as well as the game room which kids and adults enjoyed together! Upstairs, we relaxed by the fire in the living room, and really enjoyed cooking in the kitchen together! The 3 bedrooms upstairs were all nicely appointed with very comfortable beds. A short walk to the lake offered beach visits for the family pet, and the close proximity to Tahoe City is a definite plus! I would definitely stay at this home again! Thank you, Chigos Family, for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful home which you have clearly taken such great care of!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just spent five days at Christmas with our entire family (8 adults, 4 kids) and had a great time. It's decorated for comfort...first of all, the chairs! In the living room, there are 3 comfy, rocking leather chairs; and downstairs, there are about 5 more. The adults sank into those in front of a fire, while the kids had a blast in the game room. The bathrooms are lovely (virtual high-five to the decorator). Even though the king-size bed in the den is a pull-out, it's just as comfortable as the regular beds (but bring your own king sheets...we had to improvise). Lastly, perfect location. Family loved it!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This place was perfect for our two families with 6 teenagers and 4 adults. Plenty of space, beds, and bathrooms. Large dinning table so we could all sit and eat together. Location is literally a 2 minute walk max on level ground straight to the lake and a private pier. Very clean and well decorated with everything you need. Great deck out front to start the day off while waiting for the crew to get ready or to relax in the evening. Also a larger deck out back with the gas grill. The pool table and air hocky got alot of use late into the evening by all with the ipods hooked up to the stereo. Only problem was the stay was too short.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
