Wonderful LOCATION in the Upper West Side - New York, NY

Guest: Sharmarie (Edmonton, AB Canada)
Date of Stay: 03/23/12 Review Submitted: 04/03/12

This apartment has the most incredible location in the Upper West Side-- beautifully situated behind the American Natural History Museum and so close to everything: shopping, restaurants, groceries, museums, Central Park and transportation (subway, bus and walking). It’s wonderful to have a three-bedroom apartment available in Manhattan, as we were three generations traveling together. We appreciated the wireless internet connection so our teens could use their iPods. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and with Fairway Market, Trader Joe’s and Zabar’s within walking distance we were able to cook up some delicious meals. Thank you to the owner Anthony who made this a great rental experience. We will certainly recommend this wonderfully located apartment to our family and friends.

Ya-Ya's from California

The best feature of this apartment is location, location, location! Transportation to East Side, West Side by subway or bus is excellent. Nearby attractions & activities are convenient -restaurants: Sarabeth's, Good Enough to Eat, Monaco, Nick's Burger/Pizza Joint, Shake Shack, Zabar's, Trader Joe's,Fairway,Central Park, Museum Row and more(not enough days to try other eats)! The neighborhood is safe and friendly. The property is as listed, clean & well-maintained; owner Tony is responsive and helpful. We (4 'youthful' ladies from California would definitely recommend & stay here again. My only suggestion is updated linens and towels. Thank you Tony for a fun-filled 9 days!

Three British sisters

There were only three of us so we had a room each, plenty of space and privacy although the walls are not soundproof both in the apartment and the apartment floors above. Apartment clean but some attention needs to be paid to maintenance which could be easily remedied. The apartment is nicely situated with convenience to grocery stores, subway, and restaurants. We enjoyed the apartment and description is fairly accurate. The owner was helpful and courteous. We would recommend this to others.

Great Location

Guest: Applet (Colorado)
Date of Stay: 04/27/11 Review Submitted: 07/19/11

Located one block from subway/bus lines. Walking distance to Central Park, museums, restaurants, and Zabar's grocer. Accommodated 6 adults comfortably. Modestly appointed apartment. Quiet except for heavy foot traffic from the neighbors directly above. Disappointed in the owners attention to detail and addressing minor repairs. For example, the front-door handle was loose and broken, missing batteries in the smoke detector, paper towels were not provided.

Owner response:The front door handle was repaired, batteries were replaced in the smoke detector We provide cloth towels and linens, not paper towels.

Great Time in NYC

This is a great place to stay!. Very convenient to the subway (red, blue and orange lines) about 1.5 blocks in each direction. The owner was very helpful with some directions. We would have been late for our tour of the Statue of Liberty, except Tony warned us to leave earlier. The apartment is very nice and clean and well-stocked. The neighborhood is nice and we felt safe at night. Lots of good local restaurants nearby and a grocery store. We had a group of 7 and had plenty of room. I would definitely stay here again!

New york apartment

This apartment was used by 5 people from 0ctober 2010 for over a week it was very well equipped, and maintained to a high standard, We had good customer service and I would recommend it ,The owner was helpful and allowed us to stay in the apartment later as we had a night flight, however it must be said that the apartment does not have any natural light.Which was not mentioned in the literature and would have made a difference to the booking . It was safe and secure and central to all local amenities.

Owner response:Thank you for the 4 star rating, there is natural lighting in the living room and kitchen and all the bedrooms especially the third bedroom which overlooks the backyard

Wonderful Trip and Apartment

Guest: +++! (Turlcok, CA)
Date of Stay: 09/12/10 Review Submitted: 10/08/10

Our family reunion trip (6 adults) stayed in the apartment for a week in early September, 2010. From our initial contact with Tony, through the arrival, until we departed, the "rental" process went very smooth. As far as the apartment itself - it exceeded our expectations. The location is ideal. Walk to the Natural History Museum, Lincoln Center, Central Park, it's all around the neighborhood. Quick access to two subway lines and we felt like "native" New Yorkers as part of the upper West Side neighborhood. With all the restaurants in the neighborhood we never even ended up cooking a full meal at the apartment, although the kitchen was well stocked. One of the best was a Thai place over on Amsterdam. We were impressed with the clean apartment and I would recommend this place to anyone. Sure, the "closet" bathroom is tight, but was sure workable for our group. Having a private bedroom for each couple worked well. Only one minor annoyance, the wireless is a non-secure connection, and in during the evenings the internet speed would get very slow, sometimes even bumping the connection off-line - I am guessing other residents from nearby apartments are "sharing" this unsecured internet connection. I would strongly recommend that Tony simply make this connection secure, note the password in the on-site instruction guide, and call it a day!

Owner response:Thank you for the excellent rating of 5 stars. As per your comments we have installed a private wireless internet connection

My family (of seven) was so pleased with the apartment! Location was great - two blocks to Zabar's, two blocks to subway or bus, two blocks to Central Park, etc. The apartment was clean, comfortable, convenient and well-equipped. Our four full days in NYC were full of museums, shopping, Ellis Island trip, etc. and it was always great to return to comfortable beds, and bagels for breakfast the next morning. Three generations existed in this lovely apartment and had a great time together. Thanks Tony and Elaine for providing such a great reasonably priced place for our visit.

Great Apartment near Central Park

Guest: Canucks (Canada)
Date of Stay: 03/15/10 Review Submitted: 03/23/10

We loved staying in this apartment. It was in a great location, very near to Central Park, the Museum of Natural History, the subway and lots of good restaurants. It was very clean and well-maintained with a beautiful kitchen and dining room table. There are 3 nice-sized bedrooms and two bathrooms (although one is very small). We were able to find FREE parking outside on the street and the neighborhood was very safe. The apartment was very quiet at night and we were able to sleep well. I would definitely recommend the apartment to others and we would love to rent it again.

This is a fabulous place to stay in NYC. Five adults in my family spent three nights, and we couldn't believe how roomy the apt. is. It is also very, very clean. It has all hardwood floors, an updated kitchen, and three decent sized bedrooms. One full bath is fully updated; the 2nd is the tiniest full bath I've ever seen - I think it's in what was a coat closet. But with five people it came in handy. The owners, Mr. Hom and Ms. Eng, are very pleasant and very organized. They have a wealth of information in a binder in the apt. on where to find anything nearby: food, ATM's, churches, etc. I would highly recommend this apt. for a trip to NYC!!

This apartment is a first class accommodation. There were five of us, and the layout and spaciousness of the apartment provided privacy as well as communal space. It was very clean, every appliance looked brand new, and the owners were very easy to deal with. I would highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful time in New York and the apartment's size and location was perfect for us. We could not have had a better. It was clean, spacious and surprisingly quiet. The entire experience of renting through Tony and VRBO was extremely straightforward and easy. We would rent this place again in a heartbeat when we come back to New York.

This is one of the best and most exceptional vacation rentals i have encountered. The photos do not do this apartment justice. The apartment is immaculately clean. Everything from the beds, to the furniture, to the appliances and utensils is new, and of really good quality. From the sensational cooking range to the top quality fridge freezer which provided an endless stream of chilled water and ice. The two bathrooms made for extra convenience and the apartment was large and set out allowing for personal space so you were never in each others' way. We were there during a summer heatwave and the airconditioning was adequate. The location is safe and great with easy walking access to 100s of eating places and two of the worlds' best supermarkets, some great bakeries and a FILENES basement clothing warehouse. There is a choice of 2 subway stations, each 2 blocks away. The apartment truly had everything, and everything worked. An extra sofa and a larger aircon unit in the main room are the only things I would add to this great and hassle-free vacation rental. And trust me - I am very fussy
