Our stay was very accommodating. Our hosts, Flavio and Antonella were wonderful! We were 6 adults and had lots of space, beautiful views, clean bathrooms and restful nights. Beautiful Terrace. Thank you for a wonderful space and absolutely impeccable hospitality! Metro is nearby, taxi stand also close, just a few steps further from the taxi stand is a great restaurant for dinner, opens at 7pm. On the street, next door to rental property is a little pizzeria, great sandwiches and roasted chicken with veggies. This is about 1-1/2 miles on foot to the Vatican. Loved our stay here! Thank you, Flavio and Antonella!

This home was lovely and exactly as described. The photos were accurate and the place was very clean. Flavio was extremely helpful and we were brought in breakfast for every morning. The location was very convient. Bus stop right to the left of building. Beautiful balcony. Food stores within walking distance. There were several restaurants on the walk towards the Vatican. Also a very good bakery along the walk as well. I would highly recommend this property. Very high value for the cost and Flavio is fabulous. Hope we can return soon.

There were 7 of us that stayed at this home in June of 2011 and we will do so again. We can provide a very strong recommendation based on both the quality of the rooms and furnishings and also the service. Flavio and his mother are very friendly and are lovely hosts. Flavio spent an hour with us when we arrived to point out features of the home and also told us how to get around in Rome. He was so nice to help us with some extras like printing out tickets for the Vatican that we needed. We were provided with continental breakfast items each morning that were quite adequate. We ended taking some of them as snacks on our daily trips. The home is on the top floor of a residential condo building and is surrounded by large connected verandas accessible from every room. We typically ate breakfast and some dinners on the veranda outside of the kitchen. There is a market just down the street. One night as we were eating, we saw fireworks on a distant hillside from the veranda - some sort of festival going on in Rome. Each day we walked about 1 km down a pleasant boulevard to the San Pietro metro station. It is the metro stop that you would take for St Peter's Basilica. Sometimes, we took a bus that traveled the same boulevard when we were tired. It was a very pleasant holiday in a very nice residential location!

We were 7 people traveling to Rome for our first time. Flavio, the owner, was very flexible and accommodating to our needs and schedule. This is the first time we used VRBO and after finding this penthouse definitely will use again. The apartment was very clean, comfortable, spacious, convenient to a supermarket, public transportation (bus line), and easy 20-30 min walk to the Vatican (depending how fast you walk). What we liked about the apartment is that when you are touring Rome, you visit all the tourist places to start. So you are in crowded places that don't show the Roman way of life. Staying here you are in an authentic neighborhood. You see people going to work, walking kids to school, and stopping in the local coffee bar or supermarket. The neighborhood is similar to a residential area in NYC. The restaurants are neighborhood places so don't expect English menus or much English support. You are really experiencing Rome. The terrace was an excellent place to eat meals, drink prosecco, people watch, and start or end your day. Flavio and Antonella are special people with gracious and kind spirits. Try to get to know them. They are very nice and accommodating. Definitely try this place. We will stay with Flavio and Antonella again when we visit Rome.
Owner response:thank you so much i have read with very pleasure your beautiful words, only my regret is the occasion to gift you some typical italian products. we have a wonderful memories about your family. we wait for you on Rome.

What a wonderful time we had, thank you Flavio and Momma for making our trip so much better! This apartment was the perfect place for us to lauch our Rome adventures from. We rented two adjoining penthouses with unbelievable outdoor space that we really enjoyed. There were eight of us, but the two spaces could handle more people easily! Flavio took the time to show us things on the map of interest which helped us get oriented, and gave us some tips on how to avoid trouble and find our way home. His recommendation of a local restaurant about 1/2 block away was a great one. Edmundo's was a fund place to eat with " locals" the food was excellent and the wine just as good. This apartment is close to the busline and the subway. The owners were very helpful from booking til the day we left, thank you! We hope to be back soon. Our group especially liked the firm beds, the easy wireless access, the feeling of safefy and security, and the outdoor space. We recently recommended this apartment to a client who will be visiting in September.

We stayed here in June for 5 days. The place is just off the beaten path from the Vatican about 10 blocks but after about 6 blocks you get in to the "locals" area of Rome. The first impression of the outside is not that exciting however when you go in side you will not be let down. We stayed in the top penthouse that is surrounded by the terrace. It had 2 bedrooms, however sleeps 8 comfortably. The owner's Mother Antonella was a gem. She was completely accomodating and showed us the little mercado, and bakery just around the corner and even gave us her favorites. Flavio was extremly helpful. Flavio's English is pretty fluent which was very helpful. I can't say enough about how clean this place is. The floors shine and there isn't an ounce of dust anywhere. The linens and beds are very clean. I never really found a completly comfortable bed in Italy but these worked just fine. The bathrooms seemed as if they were spit shined. Antonella brought in breakfast items every evening for the next morning. Juice, milk, pastries, cookies, crackers, nutella etc. Which is above and beyond. We most especially enjoyed the terrace and just realxing out there with a glass of great Italian wine. We also had a 12 year old with us who enjoyed how spacious the place really is. One of the best features of the penthouse is they do have a washer and provide blow dryer, and iron if needed. The kitchen if very modern and has a dishwasher and generous refrigerator. We walked down to the Vatican every morning from the penthouse and it was a great starting point for our daily adventures. We discovered some great bakeries and a local eatery called the Sicilano. You can catch the local bus right down the street and the metro about 8 blocks away. There were local clothing markets and great shops along the way as well. We always felt safe on our walk back. I would highly recommend Flavio's place for a great local flare kind of stay.

We had a group of 12 [9 students, 3 teachers]. We rented this flat and the adjoining penthouse. The location is about 2km north of the Vatican. It if off the beaten track on a very safe street. It is on a bus line and about 1.4km from a metro station. The public transportation in Rome is excellent - you can get most anywhere on it - and don't ignore taxis as some say. If you have 2-4 passengers, it isn't expensive. Use the city transportation pass. Can't be beat for economy. There is a good grocery store nearby, a pharmacie, and a tobaccanist - as well as a decent place for cappucino around the corner. I would think the best time for rental is in warm months when you can take advantage of the enormous porch that surrounds the place. But we had a few warm days on the porch as well. The owner, Flavio, is quite accommodating and loves his city. Please note there isn't a "dryer" as the ad says - there is a washing machine in the upstairs penthouse - not in the lower two. But air drying your clothing worked anyway - even in March when we visited. The place is immaculate - i mean high quality clean with fresh towels, clean dishes and appliances, wireless internet with good to excellent transmission rates and TV's with satellite in every room. Breakfast was brought in around 7pm each evening and set out in the kitchen. Everything you need for a comfortable home away from home is present. There is a small elevator as the walk up is pretty exhausting even to energetic teens. I would recommend this place to anyone I know who wants to visit Rome. If you are going in the off months, ask for a lower price - Flavio was very helpful in this regard. We could not have afforded it otherwise. Don't be put off by the listed price.

Few word say how great our stay was. The photos don't really do justice. It was much more than we imagined. Our stay was comfortable and the hospitality shown to us made it more like we were staying at the home of family. We have nothing but positive to say! The next time that we stay in Rome, there is no question that we will stay here again. Truley, a home away from home.
Owner response:i'm very glad to have you at Home Holidays, i hope you will again soon,i appreciate a lot your words, your group was so kind that we speak too about you.
