Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2009

Richard Polk & Eileen Herman are co owners of the home. We have visited Amelia Island regularly for the last nine years, and finally bought a beach house of our own in 2009. A dream come true! We work and live in Atlanta, but have the opportunity to visit the island regularly, until we ultimately retire in Amelia. Richard is an Engineer who works for the FAA and Eileen works as a CPA for a public accounting firm.

Why the Owner Chose Other Amelia Island Properties

We enjoy the sense of community that exists on Amelia Island. There are wonderful restaurants in town, and downtown Fernandina is a warm friendly family oriented place.

The Unique Benefits of this House

We are just over a mile walk or bike ride to the beach. Waking up and riding bikes to the beach, then actually riding on the beach for a few miles has turned out to be our chosen form of exercise when we're here. We also love the public access to the beach. At every 1/10 mile there is an entrance and walkway to the beach, most of which also have free parking.
