  This was our second stay at Lil'Bear, and it was just as enjoyable as the first. The view from the cabin and the deck are what makes Tennessee so special. Enjoying the hot tub at night with a full moon is about as romantic as it gets. We plan to return as soon as can.

  We had such a wonderful time at Lil Bear. The cabin is immaculate and the scenery is divine. The cabin was so well stocked (dishes, etc). Our stay was glorious!

  Our family of 4 recently stayed at Little Bear during a reunion weekend at the University of the South. This was my first time using VRBO, and I didn't know what to expect - but immediately I was amazed at the ease of communicating with the owner. She is friendly, professional and extremely organized. The cabin itself is wonderful - very clean and well-kept, as well as stocked with all the essentials and amenities. We all loved the hot tub, and the view from the deck was amazing. It was the first weekend of chilly weather for us, and Lil' Bear Cabin was the perfect cozy little retreat. It was such a pleasure to return there after each time we went into campus. I highly recommend Lil' Bear Cabin - it truly felt as if we were borrowing a cabin from a friend - it was a true pleasure both before, during and after our stay!

  We had a wonderful stay at the Lil' Bear. This is a very well maintained cabin that is just 2.8 miles from Main Street in Monteagle. This great location is just a short distance from the interstate, and an easy drive to numerous hikes of the South Cumberland Recreation Area. We used it as a base to do several short day hikes. It was great to come back to the cabin in the afternoon. The owner was very organized and easy to work with when we booked the cabin, and the cabin was well stocked with kitchen supplies and information about the area. I would highly recommend.

  We were at Lil Bear for 3 weeks while we helped daughter's family move to Tennessee. The description of the cabin in the ad is so accurate. The view from the deck is spectacular. The grandkids loved the hottub. We found the cabin well equipped and very clean. We are renting the cabin in November for 3 days for granddaughter's birthday. We would recommend Lil Bear to family, friends and anyone who loves a magnificant view over the mountainous valley.

  Dear Lil Bear, We had many things to celebrate with our friends this weekend. A birthday, an engagement, and a new baby are life's stepping stones to rejoice. Lil Bear Cabin provided a perfect backdrop for all our celebrations. For Sewanee alumni, there is nothing more magical than returning to our beloved mountain. Through watching th fog rise in the morning and sunsets in the evening, we reconnected and rediscovered our "salad days".(As we always called them.) As avid cooks, we definatley appreciate all the kitchen supplies which were clean and after exploring a bit found everything we needed. The cabin atmosphere was cozy, welcoming, and clean...it made our annual Sewanee pilgramage complete! Thank you for sharing!

  We enjoyed a superb 3 week stay at Lil Bear Cabin. We aren't actually certain that we did not have a lil bear visitor...two different nights we filled the hummingbird feeder and the next moring the liquid was gone. It probly was a racoon getting a midnight snack, but it makes for a better story to be a bear! :) The hot tub was refreshing after a long days work. Our granddaughters loved spendiung the time in it with us! The view of the valley is breathtaking especially in the morning as the clouds hover over the trees. We were so happy to be here for the Arts and Craft weekend. We bought many American Girl handmade outfits which our granddaughters adore! We found High Point and Mi Casa wonderful dining options and enjoyed both. We are quite intrigued by Monteagle Sunday School Assembly.   My husband and I just returned from two wonderful weeks at Lil Bear Cabin in Monteagle, TN. The cabin was just we had hoped for: very comfortable and homey, extremely clean, well-outfitted, and in a gorgeous location. We had our coffee in the mornings on the deck overlooking a beautiful wilderness, with mountains in the background, and sat in the hot tub (also very clean and well-maintained) every afternoon with our wine, and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. There are many beautiful hikes within just a few miles of the cabin, as well as some very good restaurants, if you choose not to cook. There was plenty of room for both of us, along with our daughter and son-in-law and their new baby. Lil Bear is the perfect combination of rustic, comfortable and well-kept. We loved it and will definitely return in the future.

  We chose this cabin and the the surrounding area for a vacation getaway with friends. This cozy cabin comfortably accommodated 3 couples and the area had everything to suit our varied interests, from hiking to shopping to dining and sightseeing. We loved the hiking and the gorgeous views from the mountains and recommend stopping at the South Cumberland Visitor Center where the helpful staff will provide all the information you need to find the numerous hiking and scenic areas nearby. Visitors should make a point to visit Sewanee and the University of the South for its awesome architecture, landscaping and history...make sure you see the Cross and the amazing view of the valley from the campus. While in Sewanee, we had beer and sandwiches at Shenanigans and back in Monteagle, we enjoyed some live country music at Jim Oliver's Smokehouse where the gift shop is a hoot. We drove the 45 minutes to Chatanooga and highly recommend visiting the Tennessee Aquarium. Back at the cabin, we enjoyed the hot tub under the stars, mornings watching the fog roll over the mountain, and just relaxing in this little bit of paradise. Thank you Renee!
