Gorgeous mountain views surround Casa Santa Rosa, our home in La Quinta Cove. Located near the top of the 'Cove' and only one block from the hiking trails around the perimeter, Casa Santa Rosa is the perfect getaway for those who seek the sunshine, peace and tranquility of the southern California desert. The only sounds you will hear during the day are birds chirping and doves cooing. Hummingbirds are quite numerous and are attracted to some of the beautiful flowers in our desert landscaped yard. Relax near our private pool and read a good book or go hiking or biking on the numerous nearby trails. Nights in the desert are magical with a beautiful, clear view of the Milky Way Galaxy unhindered by city lights.

Our 1900 sq/ft home is only minutes away from over 100 world-class golf courses including Silver Rock Resort which recently hosted the Bob Hope Classic in 2008. Old Town La Quinta with its numerous shops and restaurants is also just minutes away. Our mild winters make us a popular destination for tens of thousands of "snowbirds," who travel here from all over the United States, Canada and many other countries to enjoy championship golf, tennis and polo, swimming, hiking, luxurious spa treatments, fine dining and unique shopping. And with an average rainfall of 3 inches, the Coachella Valley is a 'Fun In The Sun' destination for thousands of people from all over the world.

    • Linens Provided: All three beds are made-up with luxurious 300 thread count cotton sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers. There are two sets of high-quality towels in each bathroom and four pool towels are also supplied. There is a hair dryer in each bathroom and a make-up mirror in the Master Suite.

    • Off Street Parking: Extra parking is available in the driveway.
    • Gas Fireplace: Seasonal Propane-Fired Gas Log Fireplace.

    • King Bed: Master Suite features a Cal-King Bed, a flat-screen Hi-Definition LCD TV, remote control ceiling fan, French doors leading to the patio, an alarm clock, a telephone, a large walk-in closet, a bathroom with double sinks and a large walk-in glass, marble and tile shower, a make-up mirror and a separate office with a wireless, flat screen computer and a nice, well-lit, quiet seating area that is the perfect place to curl up and read a good book.

We also supply enough dishwasher detergent, hand soap and dishwashing liquid to get your vacation started. Our home is on a water softener system and we use only natural soaps and cleansers.

    • Catering Available: Catering is available for an additional charge and needs to be pre-arranged through the owners.

    • Deck/Patio: There is a patio with a nice table and seating for six, an umbrella and a gas barbecue in the rear yard. The rear yard is also beautifully landscaped with native desert plants, a grapefruit tree and a lemon tree (help yourself to any ripe fruit).

    • Mountain View: Our home is surrounded by the Santa Rosa Mountains to the south and west and Coral Ridge to the east. Blue skies, brown mountains and the gorgeous greens below all combine to thrill your visual senses.

    • Telephone: There are three telephone handsets in the house.
    • Free Long Distance: Free long-distance in the U.S. and Canada. No other International calling is permitted.
    • Computer: There is a powerful computer in the office off the Master Suite. Access to the Internet and e-mail is available.
    • Broadband Internet: High Speed 10 MB cable Internet access.
    • WiFi (Wireless Internet): Wireless network access is available for those guests who wish to bring their own laptop computer.

Why the Owner Chose La Quinta Cove

We fell in love with La Quinta and the 'Cove' the first time we saw it. The gorgeous Santa Rosa Mountains and the close proximity to over 100 golf courses made it an easy decision for us and we decided to purchase a retirement home here and to rent it out as a vacation home for a few years. It's an easy 2 hour flight from Bellingham, Washington for us to get here and the warm weather during the winter will certainly make it attractive.

Sun, sun and more sun! Golf, golf and more golf! Winters in Vancouver can be wet and dreary and it just made sense for us to have a getaway somewhere where the sun shines almost year round.

Mark & Judy are both avid golfers and skiers. Originally from Virginia, we currently reside in beautiful British Columbia where we raised our family. We are also able to take advantage of the temperate climate here to pursue our recreational interests. We have four talented adult children, five beautiful grandchildren, a dog and a cat. Mark is an Instructor with the local transit company in Vancouver after a 20+ year career with IBM and Judy works for a local police department.
