Great house for your stay in Tucson. MUCH CHEAPER THAN 2 HOTEL ROOMS. You never had it so good! Whether you came to live, laugh, or meditate, or howl at the moon; you will love this little piece of the Wild West. This 3/2 Guest House is secluded in a "saucer" formed of gentle hills. The VIEW OF THE CATALINAS is stupendous! This 1800 sq ft home is totally private with plenty of room to roam outside and inside. All the comforts of home are there: air conditioning, central heat, wide-screen TV, comfy couches and a deck so large it looks more like a stage than a deck. The "backdrop" for that ”stage” is the grandeur of the Catalina Mountains, as big and as bold as one could ever expect. There’s plenty of room for you and your guests to lounge around the outdoor fireplace and watch the sun set.
It's a good place for your children or grand children to ride their bikes in the yard. Have friends who would like to hook up their RV? A high covered carport accommodates them with an electrical line that runs to the cabin.
This is a great spot not only for a family or a couple but it would be great for a writer or an artist who has some projects to complete and wants to feel like he is getting away from it all.
You are only a mile north of shopping and services at the intersection of La Cholla and River.
This 3/2 Guest House is secluded yet close to great suburban amenities and I-10. SWIM at nearby YMCA that offers heated pool and short term passes (No Charge for Silver Sneakers Members). A crib is available at no charge for babies.

Why the Owner Chose Casas Adobes

We set this house up for people looking for an alternative to expensive hotels. When we go on vacation we almost always use VRBO, with four kids it is much better than Hotels. It's on our 3 acre lot and totally private from our house. We have been making improvements and decided that it is time to share it as a vacation rental. As a casita, it's the largest in the area with everything you need to relax and enjoy Tucson.

The Unique Benefits at this House

We enjoy the great Fall, Winter and Spring weather, Hiking and Geo Caching in the Catalina Foothills. Great restaurants all over Tucson. Championship Golf Course within 20 minutes. The nearby shopping suits many needs.

quiet setting & good hiking location

Guest: hikingcrone (seattle)
Date of Stay: 12/17/11 Review Submitted: 12/27/11

Four of us spent 1 week in the Coyote Cabin in Dec 2011. It has a good location in NE Tucson for hiking in the Santa Catalinas, and beyond. It is very quiet there (at least in the winter). Everyone slept well as there is no road noise. The deck looks out on a rural setting and has spacious seating. We had breakfast out there twice which was most pleasant. The other days it was too cold to sit outside. We used the BBQ grill once for dinner, and it worked great. We did a lot of cooking and there is more than adequate equipment to cook with. The frig, stove, oven, microwave & dishwasher worked perfectly. The knives were very sharp. The only complaint from my foodie family was that there wasn't a citrus squeezer! The beds were comfy, although the only other complaint was that the twin beds had very thin mattresses. The big screen TV provided evening entertain some evenings with DVDs rented from the ubiquitous red boxes. The wifi was super fast. All in all a very good & homey stay in Tucson. The house was super clean and neat, too. Thanks to the owners, who were available to help with hiking suggestions & restaurant ideas, but respectfully gave us total privacy.

Coyote Cabin Rocks

Guest: TomB (O"fallon, MO)
Date of Stay: 06/12/11 Review Submitted: 06/14/11

Coyote Cabin was the perfect getaway place for our family. Lots of space and excellent amenities. This place exceeded our expectations and made our side trip to Tuscon worth the drive down from Mesa. We went to the Pima Air and Space Museum and had an excellent and entertaining family dinner at La Fuentes. The hosts were extremely accommodating and their suggestions for sightseeing and dining were great. The listing description was accurate and the property was clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend "Coyote Cabin" to friends and family who would be visiting the Tuscon area.

Much Room for Improvement AND Within Owner's Control!

Guest: Doug (Nemo, South Dakota)

"5-Star-Rating" Categories: Close to shopping. Great views of the Catalina Mountains. Spacious area for extra parking, such as a trailer. "2-Star-Rating" Categories: CLEANLINESS...Spent 1/2 day cleaning, to make place acceptable (even though this VRBO listing charges a significant cleaning fee). MAINTENANCE / PRIDE IN OWNERSHIP....1) Many chipped dishes, from which we had to eat on. 2) Not adequately furnished....a) Only two steak knives. b) No hot-pan holders. c) No hair dryer. d) No iron / ironing board. e) Broken glider rocker (which we repaired). f) Fire extinguisher needed recharging. g) Dresser drawers broken / not functional. It appears the owners are not putting any money back into the cabin to get it up to acceptable condition. "1-star-rating" Category: NON-RESPONSIVE TO CUSTOMER REQUESTS.....Owner did supply us with a used propane grill, to replace the totally delapidated charcoal grill. Other requests which were addressed unsatisfactorily or ignored.......1) Requested an iron / ironing board. Received a used iron, which needed to be cleaned because of burned-on gunk on the bottom. Never received the ironing board. Ended up using the coffee table. 2) Requested a hair dryer. Never received. 3) Requested the fire extinguisher by recharged. Didn't even receive a reply. 4) Requested hot-pan holders. Received dirty ones with gunk baked on. Told owner this was unacceptable. Owner supplied new ones. SUMMARY: The major issues associated with this VRBO rental (i.e. cleanliness, maintenance / pride in ownership and responsiveness) can be corrected by the owners, should they choose to do so. During our stay, they chose not to do so.

Owner response:We are sorry to see this bad review after we clearly tried to satisfy our guests needs.  We went out and bought a gas grill at their request  even-though it was clearly advertised as only having a charcoal grill.  In addition there were other items not listed on the site that we provided for them including the  pot holders, iron ect....  We did not realize the steak knives we had in the home had gone missing and when requested we responded the same day with a new set of knives. When unsatisfied with the vacuum, we gave them the one from our own house.  When told that there were small very tiny dust particles the vacuum was not picking up, we held our tongues not to remind them that we live in the desert (there is small dust particles in the desert). When unsatisfied that the pot holders were not brand new we went out and bought new potholders. When requesting that we go and buy them a fly swatter my husband requested the need to talk.  When they realized (after 6 weeks) we were done with running around for their high maintenance requests they decided to write the review. We are truly sorry that they were unsatisfied in our guest house as it is a very dear place to us and we were hoping all who stayed would feel that energy.

Great setting for family stay

Guest: Elliek (Boston)
Date of Stay: 03/11/10 Review Submitted: 03/24/10

Our adult children joined us from both coasts for a mini-vacation in Tucson in March. The house was perfect for us, with 3 bedrooms (1 master, 2 small), comfortable living space, a wonderful, expansive outdoor deck with views of the mountains, neighboring horses, and saguaro and teddy bear cholla. Nothing fancy, but very relaxed. The location gave us non-Arizonans a feel for almost-desert life, and, with a car, it was convenient to visit Saguaro Park West, the desert museum, Sabino Canyon, and downtown. A grocery store nearby made meals easy. I'd definitely stay again if we come back to the area.
