There are two piers for docking your boat, fishing, or to provide access for swimming. A boat ramp for launching your boat is located at Pearson's Marina not far from the cottage. Sandy swimming areas are available by boat on Lake Freeman, by automobile at Indiana Beach Amusement Park, or Monticello public beach.
Lake Freeman is a residential lake that provides a wonderful environment for boating, water skiing, tubing, jet skiing, swimming, or fishing. You have easy accessibility to Indiana Beach Amusement Park by automobile. The Madame Carroll cruise boat provides excursions of the 7-1/2 mile long Lake Freeman plus entertainment.
Coming to visit Purdue University? Need a place to stay before and after attending a Purdue Boilermaker football game? Purdue University in West Lafayette is only 30 minutes away.
Don't forget to try the local eating and drinking establishment, The Oakdale Inn, "the best catfish by a Dam site", and get a taste of the local culture.

Just returned from a great week at the cottage. The cottage was very clean and nicely decorated. We take a yearly trip to a lake with our daughters, son-in-law and grandson and this was by far the best place we have stayed. The cottage looked just like the photos on the internet. The kitchen was well stocked with whatever you needed. Fishing was not great but we have a wonderful, relaxing week. Would highly recommend it for a family vacation.

We had a wonderful visit to the cottage. The cottage was well stocked, clean and in a great location on the water. We loved the quiet cove with such a quick trip to the main lake. The docks with the yellow chairs were very inviting early in the morning with a fresh cup of coffee. The deck was a nice way to end the day! We enjoyed looking at the various antiques..well decorated and cozy. Thanks for a fun brief stay! We would love to come again next year.

The house looked exactly liked the pictures. The rooms were all comfortable and the house felt like we were staying in our own cottage! It was decorated perfectly and had a great view of the river. We loved every minute there!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
