There are two piers for docking your boat, fishing, or to provide access for swimming. A boat ramp for launching your boat is located at Pearson's Marina not far from the cottage. Sandy swimming areas are available by boat on Lake Freeman, by automobile at Indiana Beach Amusement Park, or Monticello public beach.
Lake Freeman is a residential lake that provides a wonderful environment for boating, water skiing, tubing, jet skiing, swimming, or fishing. You have easy accessibility to Indiana Beach Amusement Park by automobile. The Madame Carroll cruise boat provides excursions of the 7-1/2 mile long Lake Freeman plus entertainment.
Coming to visit Purdue University? Need a place to stay before and after attending a Purdue Boilermaker football game? Purdue University in West Lafayette is only 30 minutes away.
Don't forget to try the local eating and drinking establishment, The Oakdale Inn, "the best catfish by a Dam site", and get a taste of the local culture.

I was born and raised in Northwest Indiana. I attended Ball State University and moved to the northwest suburbs of Chicago upon graduation in 1978.
Why the Owner Chose Monticello
Born and raised in Northwest Indiana, my father would take me fishing on Lake Freeman when I was in grade school. I now reside in the northwest suburbs in Chicago. When my wife and I decided to purchase a second home I knew right where to look, Lake Freeman, Monticello Indiana. Once a Hoosier always a Hoosier. It has give us so much joy, we would now like to share it with others.
