Location: Pelican Lake, Central, Minnesota, USA (45 Minutes to Fargo-Moorhead & 15 minutes to Detroit Lakes)
Accommodations: Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-3)
Keywords: Log Cabin
Perfect for a couple looking for a romantic lakeside vacation or a small family wanting a taste of the lake country magic, this cozy cabin on the north shore of Pelican lake offers the best of the lake country. Imagine yourself sitting on the bench at the end of the dock, scanning the lake horizon for a sign of your loved one returning from a day of fishing. Maybe you'll want to put a line in yourself, from the end of the dock. Imagine waking up to the sound of a loon or the low hum of a fisherman trolling out for the day. Imagine drifting on your inflatable or taking a kayak ride along the north shore. Enjoy a romantic sunset from the front window. And for all you hardy ice fisher people out there, the cabin is available in the winter as well.
This brand new log cabin was just completed in September of 2009. It contains a fully furnished kitchen, queen size bed, fold-down futon, and all linens. There is an eleven foot lake kayak at your disposal during your stay, stored on the kayak rack attached to the 24' dock. Sorry, no boat is available, but you are welcome to bring your own....we now have a boat lift, and the public boat ramp is only a mile west.
This energy efficient cabin has all the modern conveniences with none of the hassle. It has a air source heat pump climate control system that keeps your cabin at a steady temperature, heated in the spring and fall, and cooled in the summer. In winter the backup electric baseboards kick-in. With an R-44 roof system, you won't need to use much energy to keep the cabin just the right temperature. The Rennai hot water heater gives you instant hot water, no need to run the water for minutes while it warms up.
During the summer months, the cabin is available by the week, month, or season. From mid-September to the end of May the cabin is available for 2 day minimum rentals.
And speaking of convenience, the world famous Zorbaz on the Beach is right across the road, if you don't feel like cooking. The Yacht club is the closest neighbor to the west (about 1/4 mile away), so you can enjoy the boats coming and going during lazy summer afternoons. It just doesn't get any better than this.
Pelican Lake has recently achieved the status of a Minnesota Star Lake!

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2008
My husband and I enjoy living in sun drenched Colorado, but when it came time for a vacation home, I returned to my roots in Minnesota. There is something about the Minnesota lake life that cannot be duplicated anywhere else. This property belonged to my aunt's estate, and when I bought it in 2008, I realized that the original cabin could not be saved. I had the local fire department burn it down for a training exercise, and had Log Homes, Minnesota, erect the new structure.
Why the Owner Chose Pelican Lake
Minnesota lake living is unique in many ways. The people are fun loving and generous of spirit. The pace is slow and relaxed.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
I love an early morning kayak on the lake. Often I can only hear the sound of the paddle hitting the surface of the water.

This cabin is a delightful getaway spot for a couple or small family. It has been beautifully built with all the conveniences of home and is well maintained. It certainly lived up to it's listing and we had a wonderful time while we were there. Sleeping on a comfortable bed with the cool lake breeze at night was a real treat for us trying to escape the summer heat for awhile. The appliances in the kitchen are first class as is everything in the cabin -- the only thing missing was a microwave. The deck is a great place to sit or eat a meal and the bench on the dock is a perfect place to relax and enjoy all the boaters on the lake. We even had some friends stop by in their boat and the boat lift made getting aboard for a ride so much easier.......... One restaurant we can highly recommend is the Cormorant Inn -- their walleye is "to die for" -- I ate it twice while we were there. The Inn is also a great place to do your laundry -- less than a mile from the cabin. We also played golf at the Detroit CC and the Hawley CC -- both courses were in beautiful condition and we hope to do that again. We highly recommend renting this property...........
Owner response:Thanks so much for the kind words, Bob. I have taken your advice and added a microwave.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+.
