Twelve members of our family spent a wonderful week in this lovely home right on the beach! This includes our two little granddaughters who spent hours digging in the sand, playing with the shells and sharks' teeth, and jumping in the waves. While others have to fight the crowds over spring break, we had our own private paradise. We did have some rain and clouds, but the water can be seen from the entire rear of the house. We felt that we were on the beach even when we were in the house. Henry the Heron stopped by like clockwork at breakfast, lunch, and dinner times. The book I create on this great week will be titled, "Henry's Beach."

Owner response: Thank you for your kind comments. I know our children and grandchildren share your thoughts. I will pass along your book tile to "Henry". Dave

This holiday home was perfect for our family holiday. Everyone from the grandchildren, parents and grandparents looked the house, its beachfront location and facilities it offered. The property was accurately described but even then exceeded our expectations. The interior is both very well furnished and very well equiped for all age groups in our party. Everything was clean and in good working order. There were plenty of beds, bedrooms, bedding, towels, sun loungers, etc everything you would need on holiday. The private beach was a big attraction for the whole party with it being accessible from the bottom of the garden and safe for the young children. The owner, most helpfully provided a full and complete description for the operating of the audio & television systems. Some of the party made a visit to the local "pub" about 2 miles south of the property and enjoyed an evening of food and drinks. This property is well recommended for its size, superb location, excellent condition, surrounding wild life, including turtles dolphins, pelicans, etc. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to friends and family.

We stayed a few days and the house is nice but dishes out of cabinet were not clean. We could not find some things we needed I guess we were to buy them but for the price one would think there would be trash bags laundry soap etc. provided. The grill was very dirty. You definately need shoes on deck, got a large splinter. It was a beautiful view and feeding the heron was fun. Probably won't stay again for the money.

I stayed there with my finace (now wife) since we got married on the beach and a few family members, and it was a truly perfect place. It is well represented by the pictures. There are bathrooms in every bedroom, the kitchen has everything you need. The views out of the windows are spectacular. The place was very clean and the description was spot on. It is very secluded rarely seeing anyone ever walk down the beach. The fishing off the beach was pretty good with the snook right near the shore. The beaches down the road had a ton of people on it and having a beach to yourself is wonderful. I would recommend water shoes since there are a few rocks in the ocean in the shallow area but that is not a big deal. Dave ordered beautiful weather and we had it on our trip. Overall I recommend this place for a very relaxing vacation.

The house was great and the weather was wonderful. Could not get closer to the water without fear of floating away. Listing was accurate, property was well maintained. Great open deck in back and screened in eating area. Back deck required shoes to prevent wood splinters. Owner was easy to work with and pleasant. Collected hundreds of shark teeth with the kids. Ocean was nice but reef was close to shore which made it more difficult for kids. Blind Pass beach down the street was good as was a trip to Boca Grande Beaches.

We were looking for the perfect getaway. We's been to Manisota Key before & stayed in a nice house with the public beach out our front door, but we were looking for something more quiet this time where we could relax without distractions. We found it! I was a little concerned knowing that sometimes strategic photos are taken and the photos that show the negative are left out. My concern was wiped away when we saw the place. It couldn't have been represented any better. There was no negatives to the place. It has beautiful views from the patio and upper deck, private beach, all the amentiies you could ask for, it was clean and we felt right at home. We won't be looking for a new place when we go again as we've found the perfect retreat. The owner was easy to deal with, quick to respond and very up front. If you are looking for peace and quiet on the beach and getting away to relax and you deisre a clean, beautiful place that lacks nothing, then this is it. My family loved it and we don't have a negative thing to say! Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home with the perfect setting!

Our family of 10 adults celebrated our parents 60th wedding anniversary on June 17, 2011. Each bedroom was perfectly suited for all with bathroom/shower in each bedroom w/additional half bath by laundry room.Laundry facilities are top of line. Kitchen was pleasantly supplied with more than we expected except no toaster. Toaster oven didn't work well & was dirty. Oven needed cleaned before using. Kitchen appliances could be updated. Found only 2 telephones that worked. Fax machine saved us when discovered we had to complete & fax health insurance forms to employer in Illinois for Benefit Choice period that was extended while in FL. We took large tent & set up on back deck for shade & it was a life saver. Would like to see owner put large retractable awning there for evening sunset watching on deck. Henry was adoreable & kept him happy with small slices of hot dogs in the morning & evening. Found several shark teeth on beach, watched several dolphins daily from beach house & men caught several large fish every day using silver spinner. Our laptop computer identified each fish so we knew if edible or not. Each one was! Catfish are poisonious if stuck by them & was told to cut the line to avoid any possible trips to hospital by catfish. Only caught one & was successful sending it back to the ocean. Overall, very pleased with beautiful home for comfort & roominess for all 10 of us. Our youngest was 18 year old niece who loved the small closet bunk beds off her parents bedroom with the pocket door. Her headphones & mac computer kept her satisfied while in her room. Her exact words when first viewing this beach house "When did our family get so fancy?" It's all good ! Very much enjoyed everything the home & the environment had to offer. Thank you.

We have spend a week at this fantastic house together with our family (9 adults) and everyone loved it. The house is exactly as described and as shown on the pictures. There is plenty of room and privacy as each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom. The kitchen had all we needed and all the rooms look very nice and make you feel at home. But we were only inside to sleep and to cook and enjoyed the rest of the day outside. We have spend most day outside, starting in the morning having our coffee at the back porch, ending in the evening with wonderful sunsets and starry sky. Everyone enjoyed the ocean and we all went shark teeth hunting with success. This beach is onsidered as private and it is, on some days we have not seen anyone else at the beach. Animals: Henry, a great blue heron, is coming by each day, he loves hot dogs and everyone of us enjoyed feeding him. We saw dolphins and manatees especially in the morning and evening and they even swam by when we were in the ocean, that was a once in a lifetime moment for us. Even a armadillo came by one evening. The owner Dave is very friendly, provided us with a lot of information in advance and even called while we were at the house to check that everything was working out fine. We already plan to come back to this wonderful beach house and can only recommend it to anyone!

The house is very comfortable. There's room to get together and there's plenty of privacy. The house is well stocked with kitchen needs, and the bathrooms are very well appointed. The bath and bed linens are of good quality. The screened patio is a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the ocean environment. The word "comfortable" keeps recurring. Our family of 10 (six adults and four children) had a great vacation. We enjoyed the beach, which is just steps from the house, the dolphins, herons, and egrets that visited daily, the sense of privacy, the availability of wifi and availability of the washer and dryer. I'd recommend this house to anyone looking for a top-notch vacation! We caught Dinner right on the beach, Flounder and Sea Trout!

This house is fantastic! I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the rooms and ceiling heights compared to what I anticipated based on the pictures! There are also sooo many extras...books, movies, swimming toys, granite counters, marble floors, multiple mini-fridges, ect, ect, ect. Even though it is a ways from the TPA, RSW & SRQ airports, the trek there is completely worth it...especially if you like relaxation & privacy. We were there during spring break and saw ZERO drunk college kids! Heck, we barely saw ANY other humans each day, which, to me, is fantastic for a vacation. You cant beat the sunsets. We saw dolphins about half of our 12 days, found sharks teeth EVERY day, zillions of shells, ect, ect. The owner, Dave, was great! He stayed patient, even when dealing with all of my annoying questions. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We hope to come back some day!

This place is BETTER than in the pictures. If you want a place that lends a sense of privacy and comfort, this is the place for you. We stayed the last week of Feb/ 1st week of March. We've rented before all along the west coast of Florida and this is the BEST place we've ever stayed. Cleanest. BEST layout. BEST views. This place feels like home from the moment you walk in the front door. Dave, the owner gave us an initial walk-thru and then left us to just enjoy. We spent the week with family fishing, swimming, sunning, shelling, boogie boarding, hunting shark's teeth, watching dophins (every day), and watching wonderful sunsets (every night.) You can't go wrong with this place. Very, very nice without being too stuffy. This is what Florida is all about.

Eleven of us rented this house in mid-January (8 adults, 3 children). We loved this house, and could not recommend it more highly. The main thing we were looking for in a rental was a vacation setting that we would remember for years. This house met and exceeded that goal. There are numerous impressive houses for rent along the central west coast of Florida. Two factors set this house apart: 1) The setting; and 2) The house layout and integration with the beach. The setting of the house is unforgettable. Manasota Key is a one road island where the houses on one side face the Gulf, and the houses on the other side face the inland waterway. The road itself is narrow and beautiful, with numerous areas where tree canopies completely cover the road. The Key is neat, clean and upscale. Restaurants, shopping, etc are close enough to be convenient, but far enough away that the Key feels completely non-commercial. The house setting is even more spectacular. There are lots of beautiful houses on the Key, but almost none of them are right on the beach in the way this house is. There is no long walk across dunes, through scrub or past mangroves to get to the beach. At high tide, you could easily toss a football underhanded from the house into the Gulf. The beach is close in a way that few if any houses or even luxury hotels can hope to match. It is spectacular and memorable. The house itself was also great. It feels like visiting one of your friend’s homes –there are pictures on the walls, knick-knacks everywhere, too many remotes, and thousands of books of all kinds. The furniture is not fussy or formal – in fact, the whole house is comfortable from the minute you walk in. One of the best features of the house is the way it connects with the outdoors. There are an incredible number of sliding glass doors, porches, screens, windows and openings to outside. If you love eating in open air restaurants, or love the thought of sleeping with the ocean crashing literally right outside your open window, you will love this. The views from the main living areas are unobstructed and stunning (particularly at sunset), the breezes through the house are awesome, and the upstairs main bedroom is one of the nicest overall rooms we have ever stayed in. In short, if you are looking for a vacation you will always remember, this rental home will deliver, and then some.

My family and I stayed at this beautiful home over the New Year's Holiday. The location IS right on the beach! Plenty of parking. Kitchen large enough for several cooks and entertaining. Lots of cookbooks! The owner was friendly, informative, and accommodating to our needs. Nice restaurants in the area as well as a grocery store. Note: The upstairs blue and yellow room has a queen bed, and a set of bunk beds in the extra large closet. The upstairs master bedroom with the beach view has a queen bed. The king bedroom is the 3rd bedroom upstairs. Twin bedroom is downstairs by the laundry room. The 2nd downstairs master has a queen bed. There is a day bed in the den area off the kitchen. The lanai is large with plenty of seating, as well as the wooden deck outside with lounges. The best fun we had was hunting for fossilized sharks teeth on the beach. We even had a contest for who found the largest tooth, and who found the most teeth! Summary: We would go back again definitely. The owner is communicative and friendly, very pleasant to work with.

Can't go wrong with this lovely home! My family stayed here for Christmas and the property was even more beautiful and well appointed than we had expected. The owners are gracious and quick to respond to any questions. The view from both floors is spectacular and the beach is immaculate. The home is very private as there is plenty of room between neighbors. Would definitely recommend Manasota Key and specifically this property.

We especially enjoyed the panoramic views of the private beach, the bathrooms in each bedroom, the beautiful decor, the covered patio, and all of the personal touches that made us feel as if we were in our own home. We stayed here in April 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed the vacation. We had young kids, who enjoyed walking the secluded beach and hunting for shark's teeth. The area is very private, making you feel like you are out of the States. The house is on a key with other magnificent houses. But grocery stores are a short 10 minute ride away. The house is large and has many amenitites. Our family of four stayed in one bedroom that had a large closet with two bunkbeds. It was perfect for our two young kids. The owner has the house stocked with lots of movies to watch and with a nice big flat screen to watch them. The kitchen is well stocked with most of what you need to cook or prepare cocktails. The house is one of the only ones we found that was close to the water. It had breath-taking views with sounds of the rolling waves. Plus there were plenty of dolphin sightings. If we go back to Florida, I would not hesitate staying here again.
