Our new attached home is out in the Fraser Valley in the quiet country village of Tabernash. Pole Creek runs through the property with a 9-acre stocked lake including picnic area and walking path around it. It's on the Fraser to Granby Bike Path that connects up with Winter Park, Fraser, Snow Mountain Ranch, Granby and 600 miles of trails.
We walk to our favorite upscale restaurant, the Tabernash Tavern, with a great wine and beer selection, gourmet chef, and weekly changing menu. Our friends own the horse ranch across the gravel road from our place. It's a 5-minute drive for golf at Pole Creek Golf Club and 10 minutes to the trailhead going to Columbine Lake and Mt. Neva.
Enter our comfortable home either through the covered front porch walkway or the 2-car attached garage. The first floor great room has a vaulted ceiling, windows all around, stone-timbered gas fireplace, CD/IPod stereo system, 32 inch 1080P LCD HD TV with Direct TV and Play Station 3 for gaming and Blue Ray DVD. The newly built fully appointed kitchen has comfortable counter seating for three. The adjacent dining room has great views out the picture window of the Continental Divide to the east. Also on the main floor is a large walk-in closet, bathroom and closeted washer and dryer. The patio is off the sliders. There is a closet full of board and card games and jigsaw puzzles.
Climb the stairs with a view of the great room below to a loft area with a futon/double bed. Enter the master suite with views of the Continental Divide and Winter Park Ski Area. It also has a vaulted ceiling with queen bed, large walk-in closet and luxury bathroom. This includes a glassed walk-in shower and a large soaking tub for two. We have plug in for the HD TV here also if you prefer the living room to be just for conversation, reading and watching the fire.
Across the loft is the second tiled bathroom with a shower/tub combination. Next to it, the second bedroom with queen bed and large closet and views of Byers Peak to the west. The third bedroom is set up with a bunk/futon/trundle combination that sleeps 4. It also has a second entertainment center with DVD for movies or games and a large closet.
Feel free to bring your pets if you don't want to leave them home alone. We are comfortable with maintaining a clean environment in our home.
Enjoy this "home away from home" with other families or friends. You will love the location in this mountain valley central to the year-round fun activities of Grand County!

Why the Owner Chose Tabernash
The best feature of our home is that it is out in Fraser Valley in the quiet country village of Tabernash. Pole Creek runs through the property with a 9-acre stocked lake with picnic area and walking path around it. It also is on the Fraser to Granby Bike Path that connects with Winter Park, Fraser, Snow Mountain Ranch, Granby and 600 miles of trails. It's 30 miles from Grand Lake with boating and fishing and Rocky Mountain National Park. Of course, the main reason we are here is because of the powder, bumps, and back country skiing and riding of Winter Park Resort. You'll love it here too!
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome
We walk to our favorite upscale restaurant, the Tabernash Tavern. It has a great tapped beer selection, wine selection and gourmet chef with weekly changing menu. It's always busy; you need reservations. Our friends own the horse ranch across the gravel road from our place. We have found a local fly fishing guide that knows all the good places. Golf at Pole Creek Golf Club is only a 5-minute drive away. The trailhead to the hike up to Columbine Lake and Mt. Neva is only 10 minutes away. Snow Mountain Ranch and Devil's Thumb Ranch with horseback riding, cross country skiing and fly fishing are also only 5 minutes away. This gorgeous spot in this open valley with mountains around and views of Winter Park ski area is the most convenient location of Grand County.
Upscale restaurant, great wine selection, popular gourmet chef, changing weekly menu, you need reservations!
Fully equipped, just opened rec center with large pool area for all ages. Great kids area with 3 story water slide, lazy river and zero-depth entry pool. Check their web site www.fraservalleyrec.org
Wonderful hike to fishing or climbing the peak of Mt Neva
Ice skating, dining, shopping, mountain bike park, wall climbing, miniature golf, alpine slide, maze, summer chairlift to mountain top
Large park just built. It gets a lot of use. Next to it is an infant outdoor play area with extensive play equipment.
You'll be amazed at this place and you're close enough you can go at non crowded times or spur of the moment.
Owner's Map of Tabernash
We have always lived in Michigan but have traveled to Colorado since we were kids. We hope this home is where we will retire. Our kids live in Pittsburgh, San Francisco and Minneapolis and we are hoping we can snatch their kids and bring them to this easy to get to, closest to Denver, Amtrak stop, central Rocky Mountain location. We had a place in Summit County years ago but fell in love with the slower paced, less crowded, not over developed feel of Grand County. The snow is better at Winter Park, the hiking is close, the bike trails cannot be beat and fishing and water sports are better here.

We went to Tabernash with teenage girls and a plan for fun at a variety of locations. We ended up going to the SolVista ski area one day, Fraser tubing hill another, and the Hot Sulphur Springs for a good soak one night. Tabernash is middle ground for all of these activities while only 4 miles from Fraser where we got groceries and ski rentals. We had thought about going to the YMCA (very close to house) to ice skate, sled or cross country ski but didn't have enough time for everything. It was nice to have a quiet home after busy days to come back to for family meals. Would definately recommend this duplex unit to others that want a bit of peace and quiet while having good access to a wide variety of activities.
Owner response:So true that we are in a quiet spot with many activities in either direction from our home. And just staying in allows for great views of the Continental Divide and the Alpenglow!
Recommended for:Pet owners, families with teenagers.

Our stay in Tabernash was wonderful! The condo was super clean and very comfortable to stay in. We chose this condo because it was pet friendly and very reasonably priced. The pictures represent exactly what you will find. There was a lot of snow when we were there and we appreciated the access to the two car garage. The neighborhood is tucked away off the highway which was suitable for taking our dog for walks. The owners were very professional and responsive to all of my inquiries. I would definitely recommend this rental if you are planning on heading to the Winter Park/Tabernash area.

We loved the house. It was better stocked than we could ever imagine. We were two families of 4 and 5 (with two small dogs) and we fit very nicely. The only problem with the house it is a 10 drive away from us. Otherwise, I would stay there more often.

We recently stayed here and we really appreciated Cathy working with us on a last-minute stay. We looked around at a bunch of weekend getaway options, but needed to keep it as affordable as possible, and this home worked great. Really nice home at a very affordable price. (Not charging a separate cleaning fee, which can be really expensive on many rentals, is a huge bonus!) While Tabernash itself is not the most scenic town, it is close enough to plenty of other things to do and you'll save money so you can afford to do fun stuff while you're up there. We'll certainly try to stay here again if we do another weekend trip.
Owner response:At this point Tabernash is a tiny village, unspoiled by shops but with a great restaurant/pub, flower nursery, lumberyard, and awesome natural views 360 degrees!

This mountain getaway is truly a "home away from home". It not only sleeps 10-12 comfortably (which is great for multi-family vacations or large friend vacation gatherings), the attached garage, modern washer and dryer, and fully stocked kitchen allows us to feel totally at ease during our mountain adventures. The quiet town of Tabernash gives us a feeling of living in the mountains, just up the road from the ski resort, rather than bunking in the touristy hotel-like rentals next to the ski base. We love staying here and will continue to choose this cozy, pet friendly home for our Colorado vacations. Thanks for renting this place out! ~Connie

Very cozy feeling place. Room for a lot of people, but homey enough to feel full with just a few. Very convenient for Winter Park access, but still in a relaxed town setting. Great amenities. Amazing mountain views. Highly recommend this place.
