This immaculate 2200 sq. ft. lakefront home is located on Hi-Land lake on the Half-Moon chain of lakes. Our lake house has recently been professionally remodeled and includes hardwood floors and tile throughout. Four bedrooms and three full baths easily accommodate 8 adults. A sofa, recliner and lots of floor space that can accommodate blow up mattresses will accomodate a couple of kids (or tolerant adults). Two kayaks, two mountain bikes and a 24 foot pontoon (for use in Hi-Land lake) are included to all responsible renters when an increased security deposit is paid.
Thousands of acres of state land surround the area and are just steps away. The Potawatomi Trail offers 17 miles of some of the country's best mountain biking and beautiful rolling woods to hike in. Boating or kayaking on the Half-Moon chain is spectacular as the chain has an incredibly diverse character. Each of the eight lakes takes on its own personality. Hi-Land lake is an all-sports lake with a substantial portion of its shoreline surrounded by state land and offers natural beauty, abundant wildlife and incredible fishing!!! A navigable canal connects Hi-Land lake to Half-Moon lake, the largest of the chain. Half-Moon is over 80 feet deep and also offers a slalom water-ski course for avid skiers. Continuing up the chain you'll want to stop and swim in Blind Lake. Some say the color of the water rivals that of the Caribbean. After your swim, you can continue up the chain to explore Bruin, Watson, Island, Patterson and Woodburn lakes (another fishing favorite).
An additional 1200 sq. ft. finished basement apartment, with its own separate entrance, is maintained under the owners control during your rental stay, however, it may be made available for larger groups at an additional charge.

Why the Owner Chose Pinckney
We invested in our lake house in 2008. We were drawn to the Half-Moon chain after being introduced to the area by very good friends who also owned a lake house on the chain. The chain’s diverse character and natural beauty combined with the surrounding state land hooked us. We also noted how the areas activities seemed to be a catalyst for our friends entire family to enjoyed time together whether they were on the water, hiking, or just surrounding a lakefront campfire.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The lake chain and surrounding state land make this property unique. Kayaking up the chain is particularly beautiful in the fall. You can bring your ski or fishing boat if you like. We'll provide a nice pontoon boat, as well as a couple of mountain bikes and kayaks. Hell Michigan, close by, offers sightseeing, Putt-Putt golf, food & drink and the Potawatomi trail adds to all the things to see and do.

Hi-Land Lake has lots of great fishing. This bay borders the state recreation area and is one of the local's favorite spots.
A favorite swimming spot because of the beautiful green/blue water. A swing rope suspended from a tree will attract the kids.
Bruin Lake offers underwater sandbars that attract boaters who want to play Frisbee, just cool off or even barbecue.

Our 24 foot Pontoon with fixed top and tall console will not fit under this tunnel, so its use will be limited to Hi-Land lake. Kayaks (and boats of lower hight) can continue up the chain.

My wife Lynn is transplant from Wisconsin. She is a true "cheese head" as she grew up on a dairy farm and is still a Green Bay fan. I am a lifelong Michigander and love the water and the outdoors. We have three children and we enjoy skiing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking and kayaking.
