The studio apartment had everything that a traveler needs - good bed, full bath, basic kitchen set up, closet, and a great location. It was within walking distance to public transportation on a quiet, residential street in a safe area. There are many resturants nearby, and Old Town is also within walking distance. I enjoyed my stay, and, if I return I will check with the owners first to see if it is available again.

We stayed for 5 nights and it was a peaceful, quiet and lovely historic home. The rental is at the back of the house on the lowest level. Separate entrance and a view of the garden. Hosts were very friendly and even provided us with muffins for breakfast the next morning and drinks in the fridge. Within about a 10 minute walk to King Street in Old Town Alexandria and a little less to the King Street metro stop. I would definitely stay there again.

A wonderful warm reception upon arrival, even the neighbors were welcoming! Very neat and Very clean. Accommodations were accurately described with wonderful surprises, i.e., a chest of drawers and secretary desk. Quiet neighborhood and a wonderful children's park just a couple of houses down which was great as we were there to visit grandchildren. Felt more like "coming home" in the evenings rather than walking through a hotel lobby. Loved the proximity to Old Towne. We will definitely stay again and we hope it is very soon. We truly enjoyed our stay!

A VERY comfortable and affordable place to stay in the Northern Virginia/DC area. The King Street Metro and an abundance of great places to eat on King Street are a ten minute walk away. The bed is comfortable, the patio is a very nice place to sit outside, and the owner is incredibly responsive.

We have been very fortunate with VRBO rentals thus far, this property was no exception. The studio was exactly as described and pictured, and had everything that we needed for our long weekend in the DC area. The owners were helpful and accommodating, welcoming but not intrusive. The neighborhood is beautiful, and we enjoyed the walk to and from town or the metro. We were fortunate to have the beautiful weather, which was perfect for using the outdoor grill and sitting on the lovely patio. And we really appreciated the free parking!! The ceiling is low in the kitchenette area, but the owners are obviously aware, since there is a corner guard in a much needed place. And Alexandria is not flat as you walk away from the waterfront, so unless you plan to drive, be prepared with good walking shoes. We loved it! We would absolutely stay there again as a great alternative to a stuffy chain hotel.

It was our first experience in renting an apartment forour vacation and how wonderful it was! Willie and Linda were gracious hosts. The studio apartment was very cozy and quiet to our liking. This area was very convenient for the thours, public transportation, shopping and restaurants. Should we come to Washington, DC again, we would definitely use your apartment! Thanks so much for having us, Linda and Willie!

We were visiting our son in Alexandria and this little space was so much more comfortable than a hotel would have been. Cozy and quiet, it was a great place to come back to and relax after a day of buzzing around the big, crowded, busy city. There was always a parking space in front of the house on the street, no matter how late we came in. We slept well - and that's not always a given when you're away from home!

Every time we find a VRBO gem I am hesitant to let the word out, but we tell everyone we know planning a visit to DC this is a perfect place for couples looking for an inexpensive, clean, comfortable and quiet alternative to a stale hotel. Willie and Linda couldn't have been more accommodating before and during our stay. We were even able to park our vehicle, put our bikes in the locked garage and extra luggage in the apartment a day before our scheduled four-day stay while we took the train to Baltimore for the night. Looking forward to a return visit.

We were attending a family wedding with our 13 year old granddaughter. We also were making the trip a study of our Nations Capitol, Mt Vernon, Gettysburg and all other stops that a student entering the eighth grade needs to know... Linda and Willie were wonderful hosts and their little home away was perfect. The Metro is close and handy, and you are far enough out you can also drive without trouble. "Old Town" was great and turned out to be a bonus we did not expect. We will not hesitate staying again when we are visiting the area.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Moncure's studio apartment. It was absolutely perfect! Quiet, peaceful, and very relaxing. Great neighborhood, and we felt very safe during our stay. My husband attended a conference in National Harbor and commuted everyday, and our son and myself were within walking distance to the metro and trolley. Definitely would stay here again. Thanks Linda and Willie!

The studio was perfect for two visitors. Willie was a gracious host and regaled us with dining suggestions and logistics for DC trips. The patio was lovely and secluded and we enjoyed visits from Shasta and the cats. I have already suggested your place to a couple who plan to visit next year. Thanks, Mike and Leslie

We loved staying in the Moncure's studio. It was super clean, comfortable, and they provided lots of nice extras that made the stay very enjoyable. It is conveniently located for exploring both Alexandra and DC. The charming neighborhood made the walk to the Metro a lot of fun. We would definitely stay there again!

My small family and I (husband and a toddler) stayed here in April. It was very clean, in a great neighborhood, and an easy walk to the metro. It was great going in to the city and then getting to come back to a place that felt more like home then a hotel room. Linda knew we had a toddler coming and left some kid movies, books, and plastic plates and bowls for him to use. And the back patio was a great place for him to stretch his legs while we unpacked. It was a great stay and I would definately reccomend it for a small family.

My wife and I stayed at Linda's studio the first week of April this year (2011) We wanted to see the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC and all the usual tourist sight there as well as experience Old Town Alexandria. Linda's studio was perfect for us. The price was reasonable, the place was extremely clean,Linda and Willie are great people. The metro station was a reasonable walk ( I am 62 with RA ) and we were at the National Mall in DC in about 20 minutes each day. No parking hassles in DC. On street parking at Linda's was very convenient. We had some fantastic meals in Old Town, we found it was not difficult to find on street parking in old town every day as well. All in all a great time, would recommend Linda's to anyone.

My husband and I stayed at Linda's place for four nights. We were familiar with the area and couldn't have been more pleased with the location, place, or hospitality offered at Linda's home. She made us feel welcomed right away. We came into town with our two small dogs. The park across the street was a wonderful place to walk them and the dog friendly atmosphere of old town could not be beaten. We used the metro to go into the city one day and the short 10 minute walk to the King Street metro was great. We really appreciated all of the little extras offered by Linda, including offering to take our dogs out on the day of the ceremony in order to allow us to celebrate. Parking, although on street was easy and always accessible, which if anyone has been to the DC area knows this is not something one would take for granted. My husband, dogs and I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend their place to anyone. Thanks Linda for a fantastic stay!!!

My wife, Terri and I spent a week in early May, 2010 at Linda and Willy's place and feel we got a REAL good deal for our vacation $$. The location was excellent for us as we like to walk in the mornings. The property is in an established, very secure neighborhood for walking the 10 minute walk to the DC area Metro or just for exercizing and looking at all the beautiful houses and yards including theirs. It is also close to the "old town" Alexandria area with many interesting and historical places to see and many choices for meals. Our Hosts were very heplful and gracious which made our stay very memorable.
