The Caleb Beal House is an ideal location to stay if you are visiting Boston,Cape Cod or touring New England.
Hingham is a beautiful and historic New England town with all the amenities you love on your vacation including lovely restaurants, cafes and local shops and stores. The house is downtown and mostly everything is within walking distance. The harbour and town beach are at the end of the street.
The Caleb Beal House was built in 1832 by Caleb Beal. We are still investigating his life but he may have been a tin plate worker and dealer in hardware stores, afterwards involved in navigation work. After several years he converted the house to a double residence and rented at least one side to a sea captain. Hingham harbour was busy with trade and numerous sailing ships at that time. Hingham is a historic town for many reasons and it is notably where the early Pilgrims settled and home to the Lincoln family.
Enjoy the ambiance of this antique house, cheerful and comfortable with fresh crisp linens and hard wood floors throughout. There is a cozy screened porch overlooking a small garden area; a wonderful way to relax on your New England vacation.

A great home in a real nice town

Everything from the town, the location within town, the house, and the hosts Tom and Milly were perfect and better then can be described on a website. We ran, biked, kayaked and sightseed our entire 7 days and were able to relax at night in the center of it all the fun.
Recommended for:Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers.

We stayed at Caleb Beal over Memorial Day weekend 2010. Tom and Milly were great. They even supplied us with bread, milk, and other items for breakfast. They have done a wonderful job of decorating the house and it is an easy walk to the beach. I loved the historic preservation they have done. The Johnsons.
