This recently and extensively remodeled home offers Mexican charm on three lots set in a large garden shaded with ancient Mesquite and Pepper trees. The effect is quite romantic yet we are only a five minute walk to the center of town. We enjoy a formal indoor living room with fireplace and a large estancia (outdoor living room) which looks out on the large terrace with fountain and views the large garden. Each room is artistically designed including the serene master bedroom with fireplace which overlooks the garden and the glassed-in dining room which at tree-top level is excellent for bird watching. There is extensive use of hand-hewn beams, tile floors and Mexican tile work throughout the house as well as special examples of folk art. In addition, there is a separate guest suite which includes a sitting room, bedroom and bath.
The house is located within walking distance of all the historic sites and attractions of this World Heritage Mexican town established 1547.

We are a recently retired professor and researcher in the mental health field from the University of California at San Diego and have spent twenty-four years enjoying San Miguel de Allende whenever we have the opportunity.
