Thinking about vacationing in Germany? Why not spend a few days in the beautiful wine country of the "Pfalz" region in Southwest Germany?
The place is located in the suburbs of the town of Ludwigshafen, about 50 miles South of the Frankfurt airport. It is only approx. 10 miles to the wine country, about 20 minutes to Heidelberg and less than one hour to the beautiful "Alsace" region of France, incl Strassbourg and Colmar. If you are looking for "cookoo clocks", the Black Forest is less than 2 Hours away.
Golf courses are close by in the wine country with most fairways in the vineyards. You can pick grapes, apples and cherries while playing golf.
The friendly and helpful housekeeper will be happy to show guests the local town (in walking distance, where you can go grocery shopping and dine in one of the local restaurants). She will also serve coffee, juice, rolls/croissants in the mornings.
Public transportation to the center of town, as well as Mannheim across the Rhine river, is within walking distance.
Wine tastings and wine tours can be arranged upon request.

Year Purchased: 2006
Actually this is not the typical vacation home. It was my parents home and also mine until I left Germany for the U.S. in 1973. The house was built in 1969. After my parents had passed away I bought out my brother and own the house since 2006. My wife Barbara and I live in Georgia but travel to Germany frequently. We use this house as a base for further travel within Europe. We decided that we want to offer fellow Americans an opportunity to get to know one of the most beautiful wine areas of Germany by making our house a "vacation" home. Upon request we can arrange for wine tastings and visits to wineries.
