Private Homes house description
A rare find on Siesta Key- a true beach house available for rent! This is not a hi-rise with elevators and jammed parking lot. It is a charming old house with plenty of space directly on famous Point of Rocks Beach. Its not new and fancy, and neither is the price. Each bedroom has it's own entry from pool- so you can leave those sleeping children alone while you enjoy your morning coffee on back yard deck!
Enjoy your family dinner on big comfortable leather chairs at a table that seats 8. Additional seating for company. Table and chairs on back deck with umbrella. Terrazo floors and built-in shelving throughout!
Additional one bedroom beach cottage for rent with kitchen and bathroom also on property that rents separately. Houses like this are a rare find- being replaced with tall condos or torn down to make room for mansions. You will love this place this step back into what old Florida beach houses used to feel like. Please check out virtual tour! Please call Robin Turner, property manager at ERA Waterside Rentals- (941) 376-7322 *****

Great family vacation home
Great family vacation home
We are just concluding a week long stay for our three generation family. This home was great! I had an issue with the pool temperature upon arrival and called the manager. I was very surprised that she took my call on a Saturday evening and said she would handle. She was here in 30 minutes or less to see if she could help while she was trying to contact her pool guy. I wanted the water temp high due to two yr old grandson wanting to get in and of course it takes a little time to heat that many gallons of water. The pool guy came a short time later on a Saturday evening and explained the timer and set it so we had very warm water the next morning and a happy toddler. I found the house to be quirky in a very charming comfortable way. It could use some updating but overall is great. The location couldn't be better as a 1 minute walk to a nice secluded beach spot. It was a toss up on whether to stay in pool or go to beach. The house is clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. I am quite a germaphobe and it passed my scrutiny. I didn't see any bugs or rodents and I certainly looked. The gas grill is large enough to cook for a big family. Lots of towels which is always an issue. Great cable and big screen that satisfied the Super Bowl crowd. The house layout was great to get away and have a little space from the rest of family :) any pan size or utensil we needed could be found in the kitchen which I have never encountered in another vacation rental. The cottage was perfect for the 20 something's to sleep in and getaway. This was truly bring your clothes and groceries and have a great week. Thanks Robin for being so helpful!

Manager response: I am so happy that your family enjoyed this traditional Siesta key Beach house. Thank you so much for taking the time to let me know about your experience. I was happy we got that pool heater on and heating for your grandson. Yes, it really doesn't get any closer to the beach than being in this home. and unlike many beaches around the country, you don't worry about your feet getting dirty- the quartz in the sand makes it powdery and shakes right off. I hope you enjoyed the spectacular sunsets and I look forward to hearing from you again. Guests, like you, are a pleasure! I really appreciate your time in making these comments.

Towards year's end, a 2013 vacation mistake. Unfortunately misrepresented description of charming, very antiquated home. Slim on dish cloths and towels, food containers for left overs missing too, no basic ice maker or even ice cube trays; let alone rat trap found in kitchen cabinets. If satellite tv, where's ESPN for bowl games? Our instructions provided condo information. Um...Trash shoot to where? Want to barbecue on New Year's? Half way through cooking, sorry, gas grill all out. In the end, we waved goodbye to our lovely enclosed pool and beautiful beach when, low and behold, a real life rat crawled under the ill-fitting garage door.

Manager response: I am extremely sorry for any inconveniences you endured. This is an older home, but we keep it clean and stocked with things that any renter would enjoy. We usually have a refill for the gas grill and I am sorry it must have been overlooked prior to your visit. As soon as the property manager was aware of any issue, it was handled immediately, as with the gas of propane for the grill. I am sorry the weather was horrible while you were here- it certainly would have helped you enjoy your vacation if we were having our normal climate temperatures. I don't think the sun came out at all during your stay, and it would be very upsetting to me too. I am extremely sorry for your dissatisfaction and believe that everything you had an issue with was taken care of very quickly. Yes, there is a new mouse trap- but it is still in packaging. There have been instances of mice and rats, and even palmetto bugs in Florida, and Siesta Key. We sometimes have found snakes. There are ice cube trays there, and while I find it inconvenient too, many guests go out and buy bags of ice. It helps to have extra for this warm climate when beverages go down quicker- not even an ice maker could keep of with that. As far as the dish towels- upon inspection- there were at least 2 dozen clean towels in the kitchen drawer. And I agree- ESPN for watching games is a must. I am sorry you didn't locate it on the new big flat screen TV, and guests before and after you were able to watch that channel. Perhaps there was a cable issue during the bad storms we were having. Once again, we are very sorry that you found so many things wrong, and it kept you from having a wonderful vacation. It is the same property manager that has been in place for many years. Hoping you have sunny weather for your next trip to Siesta Key.
Exceptional! Can't wait to return!
Exceptional! Can't wait to return!
My family and I stayed at this incredible home for 7 nights, and couldn't have had a better vacation! This very spacious house is unique, and the pictures don't begin to do it justice! The path to the beach is much shorter than the pictures make it look, and is an easy walk, even for our older family members that were vacationing with us. The pool is decent sized, and has a large patio area around it, with plenty of chairs and tables. This home is tucked away from the business of the public beach, yet close enough to enjoy a little slice of your own paradise! We even had dolphins swim in front of the house every morning! There were plenty of extras at the home, such as towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, toys etc. Our family ranged in age from 6 months to 78 years old, and it fit everyones needs. I can't say enough positive things about this home, and our exceptional vacation experience our family had. As we were leaving, we were already trying to figure out when we could return!

Manager response: Thank you Mrs. Z. The pool has been refinished and we have added a new dining set for casual dining outside on the back deck. The sunsets are spectacular too, as you know. I look forward to you contacting me again to rent this one of a kind beach house.
Our extended family stayed here last year for 4 nights. We are returning again this year for a week. We also rented the cottage which was perfect for our college graduate and her friends. The house is in a perfect location with lots of living space. We especially loved the large dining area and separate breakfast nook. We could accomodate a dozen people comfortably for evening gatherings. We enjoyed incredible sunsets on the beach. The pool was great, and the house had plenty of beach towels, boogie boards, umbrellas and beach chairs. It even had sunscreen and sand toys. We did have a problem with the BBQ grill, but it was immediately fixed so we could enjoy grilled dinner that night. The beach is in a quiet area, right next to Point of Rocks. Do be careful though not to get too deep in the water right next to the rocks. The undertow brought us in a little too close for comfort. Thanks for a great stay!

Manager response: Thank you Mrs. B. There is now a new concrete deck at the rear of the house- to make it easier to gather family and friends without slipping through the wood deck! The sunsets are the best on the west coast ~ and there is always a breeze when you are directly on the water. And I am happy you found plenty of room inside to gather all your family. thank you for taking such good care of the home!
After spending the last 25+ years renting condos on our favorite beach, we stumbled across this gem. Absolutely perfect for our family with it's great pool, perfect location and very comfortable furnishings. The cottage provided a nice escape for my parents when they needed a break from the younger group and it was clean and comfortable. After walking past this house yearly on our shell hunt at the Point of Rocks, we were amazed that we had NEVER seen it as it is hidden by the dunes and foilage. If privacy and plenty of room are what you are looking for, then...look no further!

Manager response: Thank you so much Ms. P. I don't know why more guests aren't adding their comments- because everyone who visits loves this place! Let me know when you want to come again! There aren't many places like this on Siesta Key- that's FOR SURE!
