My wife and I decided to take a last minute weekend trip to Stratton. Found this house, sent an email and appreciated the quick email responses to all our questions, and booked the house for 2 days. House was very clean when we arrived, and had everything we needed for a ski weekend. Price was very reasonable and it was about a 10 minute drive to Stratton. There are 3 bedrooms with queen size beds in each room so it was a little big for us, but we will visit in the future with 3 couples. Not a huge house, but great for a small group looking for a great price in a great location.

A Delighful Chalet Value for Small Families

Never having been to the Stratton area before during winter, I was appalled at the cost of lodging on the slopes. Even the lowest prices at the base were only going to reward us with cramped accomodations sharing noisy common hallways, and traffic. We wanted more room to stretch out, get away from people and cars and have a place where the kids could play in the snow outside. We found this chalet and could not believe how INEXPENSIVE it was, yet so CLOSE to the mountain. A number of ski shops, services and small market dot the main road between the chalet and the entrance road to Stratton. A larger market is north as you head toward the Londonderrys. Restaurants and a large grocery store are in Manchester & Manchester Center. How convenient! We found everything we wanted in this chalet and it was wonderfully quiet being slightly off the road. It was very clean, well supplied with towels, pillows and blankets, comfortable for the 4 of us and allowed us to make our own meals and do our own laundry without feeling like we were tripping over each other as I would expect in a Stratton condo cell. The morning after we arrived, we woke up to 12+ inches of snow. The driveway was plowed at sunrise knowing we may want to skeddadle up to the mountain early-- deck and stairs too. I had to dig out the car a little bit just to get doors and the trunk open, but I didn't mind. The driveway and turnaround were completely cleared after we got back later that day. We had a small problem with the washing machine cold water pressure during our stay and Theresa, the property manager, always responded promptly to our concerns. We were just so impressed with the whole package. The proximity, the prompt attention to a problem, the value. It didn't take 20 inches of new snow to fall on the mountain that first night to make our stay highly satisfying! That was just gravy!
