Located conveniently between Los Angeles and Orange County, this Alamitos Bay beach cottage is in the exclusive Peninsula neighborhood of Long Beach. You'll find you've arrived in a quiet little beach town with all the amenities of a large metropolitan city.
Your getaway is between the Bay and the Ocean - enjoy the sunrise on the Bay (just about 150 feet away), and the sunset on the Beach (maybe 250 feet away). But be sure to relax and take a breath! You're on vacation. And even if you've come for work in the City, at the University, or at the Port, we'll do our best to make you feel like you've just found your new 'home office' in this secluded spot.
Make your way through the gate and meander up the stairs to find your own spacious deck where you can BBQ, dine alfresco, or just lounge the day away. This cozy 1 bedroom/1 bath has everything you could want in your very own home away from home. We'll even customize your bedroom configuration. Would you rather have two twin beds? Done. On the other hand, would you prefer a cozy Queen Bed? The luxurious linens won't be all you'll be happy about. Let us make sure it's just what you'll need to make your stay a comfortable one.
Our goal is to make sure you're surrounded by things that say, "welcome, won't you come and stay for a while?" When you're ready to stroll out to the bay, or the beach, your beach chair and towel will be waiting. - On Sunday morning, make your way to the Farmers Market where you'll find everything you need for alfresco dining on the deck. Or if you like, go to Pine Avenue in Downtown Long Beach for some upscale dining. If casual is your choice, take a walk to 2nd Street to find Legends, Bono's (as in Sonny Bono), or in August, participate in Stroll & Savor. Any other day, you can visit Aquarium of the Pacific, Long Beach Pike, Queen Mary, Long Beach Museum of Art, Museum of Latin Art, or Shoreline Village. Special events include the International Quilt Festival, E Hula Mau, 20th Annual Classic Car Show, and the 27th Annual Christmas Parade, to name a few. Other attractions include Long Beach Ice Dogs, Home Depot Center, Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Knotts Berry Farm. Situated between the bay and the beach, this 1940's shingled beach cottage for two is tucked away from the every day. Have coffee on the deck, or meander out to the bay and take in a magnificent sunrise while planning the rest of your day. In the evening, grab your running shoes, or a glass of spirits and head out to the boardwalk to watch the sun set over the ocean and the Palos Verdes Peninsula. For dinner, visit Belmont Shore and 2nd Street - just a short stroll away - or stay home and cook in a fully appointed kitchen - or BBQ if you like, instead. Set up your computer and work, or set up your sewing machine and quilt. Or just come and 'set' a while...whatever you choose, you'll choose to return again and again.

After 85 days, what can we say...thank you for the opportunity to see the first three months of our grand daughter's life. We will be back soon to watch more of it! We were happy to meet the neighbors - and found them all to be kind and patient. The beach cottage is right up there with our favorites, too.

We loved our stay--it was perfect in every way--just as described. We walked the bay or the beach every day--usually 2 or 3 times, watched lovely sunsets (and too few sunrises), talked with friendly neighbors, and found the local cafe a few blocks away. The house was well appointed and if we needed anything, Natalie was right there to help us. The best part is that I was able to host my large Long Beach-based family for several dinners for the first time in nearly 40 years. This house was perfect and I would without reservation recommend it again and again. We are already planning our next stay. Thank you so much! Judith and Jim

This is the second stay for my wife and me to the "Cottage By the Sea" and found the first visit / stay only exceeded by the second. In addition to being a great location, for getting anywhere in Long Beach, you will be only steps away from the Ocean or the inlet if you head in the other direction. Natalie takes great care to ensure all the little nice touches are in place (for instance flavored coffee creamer) to help you enjoy your stay. All in all we have absolutely no hesitation in providing a 5 STAR recommendation.
