I must say with all sincerity that this was the best choice for may family vacation. We usually stay in a hotel or resort but this was by far . . . THE BEST CHOICE EVER!!! The house is soooo peaceful, quaint, clean and adequately equipped with all the comforts of home. My children enjoyed having their own spaces to relax in and the family really benefited from not having to eat out for every meal. We were able to walk to the beach within minutes and it is close enough to Coligny Circle for a nice walk or a bike ride. The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors we nice. The perfect spot for peace, quiet, and relaxation. We even grilled out a couple of times for dinner. This is definitely a spot that I would return to again, and again! The owners were very helpful and welcoming through the communication and correspondence. No complaints or regrets!!!! WONDERFUL!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Just got back. This house represents amazing dollar value for a very pricey vacation area. It is nestled dead center of the best beach. Easy to walk to carrying whatever you need for a day at the beach . So convenient to the bike path as well. You could leave the car parked all week easily and get everything you would need by bike. Owner does not live right in town but is easily accessible by phone and has a maintenance guy on retainer for any small problems you may have with the home systems. You will enjoy the escape to the calming shade patio if the beach gets too hot. I can't say enough about what a value this represents compared to local hotels!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Just returned from a great week at 16 Pelican... The house was a perfect size for a family of five! We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood, as well as as the quick bike ride to Coligny Plaza for coffee, lunch and great libations!.. oh and the 300 steps to the beach was great for quick trips back to the house for drinks or snacks! The grill is a nice touch and was used to cook up some fresh-caught shark and local veggies. The house and owners were everything you could ask for in a vacation rental, kudos for making our visit to HHI both relaxing and fun!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We love staying in North Forest Beach and this house on Pelican did not disappoint. The owner is very sweet and easy to work with. The home has a TON of extras. The kitchen has all the right tools. All the extras (coolers to take to the beach, beach towels, and throw blankets to use on the couch) that they provide were a great touch. We had a great week and can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

We loved staying here. There was plenty of room for our family to spread out or come together. The kitchen was well-stocked and had a table large enough to accommodate everyone. I was a little worried about the walk to the beach with two young children, but it was really easy and a great way for them to dry off on the way back. Also, the beach was not crowded at all. We had a fabulous time and were very comfortable in the home. I would recommend it to anyone.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We absolutely loved our time at 16 Pelican; the home was perfect for our two families with young daughters. The bedrooms were spacious and well appointed and the kitchen/dining area was perfect for meals and cocktails. We hit the beach daily and the walk was no trouble at all; both girls loved their time on the beach as well as the fountain down at Coligny circle. The distance from the Coligny shops was perfect for a bike ride and all the recommendations for meals and drinks were spot on. We ran into a little inclement weather from tropical storm Berwyl but enjoyed our day inside nonetheless. The rest of the week the weather was perfect and we look forward to visiting again in the near future!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just got back from our third year going to HHI. This place was so clean and so organized. I loved waking up in the morning and having coffee on the back porch:) everyday we went to beach right across the street and came home and watched movies:) my kids all loved it to and really slept great in all the beds, wich had cozy updated sheets and comforters:)we had other family staying on the island and when they came over they would all say how it was such a beautifully decorated beach house! I recommend this to everyone...it was soooo peaceful too. We all said we miss it and can't wait to go back:) the owner was the nicest friendliest accommodating person too!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

My family had such a wonderful time staying at this beach house. You get the best of both worlds. It is a very quiet neighborhood to come home to at night but you are just a walk or bike ride away to the beach or shops and restaurants at Coligney Plaza. This is a very family friendly home with everything that you need. There was just three of us on this trip but this house is very roomy where you could bring a couple of families. The house is very clean and the kitchen is stocked full of supplies. This is a great beach getaway house in Hilton Head!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband, 17-month old daughter and I just got back from a week long stay at 16 Pelican. Although the weather was cooler than we'd bargained for, the house more than made up for it. We enjoyed both the AC and the heat during our week! The house had more than enough room for the three of us and would comfortably fit several couples with children. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you would need and the house is a short distance from anything else your heart desires - walks on the beach, restaurants and shops, hikes through the Sea Pines Preserve. We did it all and had such a great time. We can't wait to return in the future, hopefully with friends!Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Our vacation at 16 Pelican Street was extremely relaxing for all, which included 6 adults and 2 young children. This house had everything we needed, enough room for all, even during naptime no one was inconvenienced due to lack of space. Tracy and her husband have definitely put time and effort into making this house wonderful for all who stay there... beach towels, coolers, linens, etc. This was definitely a delightful vacation had by all. We also did a day trip to Savannah to visit the historical district, another wonderful time. The house is just a short walk to the beach, done many times, along with walking to shopping, local restaurants. A vacation to remember and we all look forward to our return trip.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Our group of six stayed at this home last summer in search of quality family time. Coming from the DC area with four children, the idea of being packed in a condo is not our idea of a vacation, so we booked this property hoping to be able to spread out and do things at our own pace. It was perfect in every way! The owners are wonderful and have taken care to include special touches that create a very comfortable atmosphere. They've thought of everything! We like to cook two of our three daily meals ourselves, and the kitchen is well equipped. We made use of the outdoor gas grill. The neighborhood is safe, with a good mix of tourists as well as full-time residents. We were glad to be able to return to a residential community each night. Take the owners' advice regarding eating establishments and entertainment. Opportunities exist for more elegant evenings as well as casual evenings. We rented bicycles times six from Bike Doctor - good choice. We tried several restaurants, went on a family fishing excursion, flew kites, kayaked, crabbed in the estuaries, and hit the outlets to mention just a few activities. The highlight for my seven-year-old was when he caught his very first blue fish on the surf-fishing rod he got for his birthday, ran back to the house with his catch and cooked it for all of us. We never did make that day trip to Savannah as we were having so much fun on the island. Must come back this year to do the golf, tennis, and horseback riding we couldn't fit in last year. Tracy, thank you for letting us stay at your wonderful beach home! We rented this house from Tracy in June and our stay was wonderful! The house was perfect for our needs (two families with 4 kids 7 and under). The kitchen was really well stocked with useful things that actually worked! Having the cooler and beach towels was great and saved us packing space in our car. Our kids loved the screened in porch and spent hours playing games away from the direct sun and bugs. The beds were super comfortable and we just really enjoyed our stay - it's a short walk to the beach and close to the bike paths. We had a few small issues during our stay that Tracy immediately took care of. Her attention to detail and desire to make us feel at home was very much appreciated. We hope to return to Hilton Head and also hope to stay at 11 Pelican St. upon our return.Recommended for: Families with young children, tourists without a car.

After deciding upon a beach wedding, I knew that Hilton Head Island was the only place for us! Our family all looked at different places here and there trying to find a private but convenient place that was close to the ocean/beach but still within our budget, We found this wonderful house and were MORE THAN PLEASED with what we found. The owners were SO HELPFUL with their accomodations and help with some things that we needed for the wedding. They included information to us about local places to dine and shop and the house was nothing short of PERFECT for what we needed! The house is close enough to the beach, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of a resort or public access areas that our ceremony was PERFECT! We are hoping that we can make the trip somewhat regular to celebrate and deffinately reccomend this location to ANYONE plannin a trip to HHI! Great location - close to everything, but far enough away to be able to relax and just "get-away" from everyday life!!!!! Hope to get back VERY SOON!!!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. You were right, we could have invited several couples to join us for the week. The house is so charming and didn’t feel too big for one couple just trying to relax from the NYC hustle. But with 4 bedrooms – we could’ve easily extended invitations for visitors and still enjoyed our privacy. We’ll know for next time, and I’m confident there’ll be a next time. Your house was quite simply – PERFECT! You provided everything from beach towels, coolers, linens, bath towels, a complete kitchen set up as well as outdoor grilling and seating for back yard BBQ’s – perfect, just perfect. I appreciated all the extra features you provided for your guests including the Bose CD player in the kitchen where we cooked our meals and danced to our favorite music we brought. Plus it was nice to work out to our Biggest Loser DVD each morning before our hour walk on the beach on your huge flat screen TV and DVD player. Your house couldn’t be more ideally situated for a private spot on the beach. We were practically the only ones in that area. Coming from Manhattan, we really appreciated that. Each day we walked one mile on the beach. It became more and more crowded as we approached the hotel areas and quite frankly, we couldn’t wait to turn around and get back to our private secluded section of the beach. Of course, we occasionally enjoyed a few pina coladas at the Tiki Hut while watching the volley ball games at the hotel. And finally, we can’t thank you enough for your detailed information booklet you left at the house as well as the detailed brochures. Your personalized booklet guided us throughout our vacation. We went to several of your recommended hot spots for both food and cocktails. At each place we visited, we’d always ask the locals about their favorite spots, and 9 times out of 10 would recommend one of your suggestions. Simply one of the most relaxed, carefree vacations we’ve had. Thank you. We look forward to visiting your lovely house again real soon. We can't begin to tell you how much we loved this house! It truly is one of the loveliest homes we have stayed in over the years, and we have stayed in many up and down the Atlantic. Your decorating and finishes make it the perfect getaway! We found every modern convenience we could want, with the patio area, grill and screened porch a plus. It was sparkling clean and comfy, cozy. The location is perfect. We biked everyday up and down the bike path, especially to Coligny Plaza. You are right, you are only 300 steps to the beach--we felt spoiled! We came over our Spring Break (3/27-4/3) and we had beautiful, warm weather with bright blue skies! We love Hilton Head, and this house made it an even better vacation place for us. We will definitely rent again. Thank you for your attention to all the details that make your house so special.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

Beautiful, Quiet and Relaxing. What a wonderful location. There were 9 of us that went down to Hilton Head for a week of Thanksgiving. The house had plenty of room for all of us. The items supplied in the house had more than we expected. There were board games, movies, books, mini coolers, and even beach towels. It was much nicer than any hotel could ever provide. We actually only really ate out once (excluding a snack here or there). We went to the Wild Wing Cafe, which I would suggest to anyone. A couple of us did drive to Savannah to visit Paula Deans resataurant and even were lucky enough to get a picture with her and one with her husband. Some went golfing, some played putt, putt and some did some shopping. The area (all within walking distance) has a little of everything and if it is not right there it is very drivable. I would rate this as one of my most relaxing vacations, even considering that I had my 2 kids with me ages 8 and 11. I can't wait to get back down there and do it all over again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

If are looking for a great place to stay for a family vacation you have found it on Pelican Street in Hilton Head. My family and I have stayed in many different condos, hotels, and apartments for vacations and none of them compare to the relaxing comfort and accessibility of this house. The house is newly remolded and absolutely charming to be in. The comfort and quietness of the neighborhood makes the already beautiful house even more enjoyable. Anyone who stays will agree that this is one of the, if not the best place they have ever stayed. The screened in back porch and closeness to the private beach will enhance your enjoyment even further. My wife and I sat on the back patio and had coffee every morning and drinks in the evening. We had a wonderful time on Hilton Head Island there is so much to see and do. I hope to come back to the island and visit again and if possible we will stay in the same place. The owners are so easy to work with and do everything possible to make sure your stay is hassle free and relaxing. Thank you Tracy and Rob for making our vacation so great.
