Great Grandma's birthday

Guest: Curtis Singleton (-)
Date of Stay: 04/07/12 Review Submitted: 04/24/12

Our family had a great time staying at this house. The group of 8 varied in age from 95 to 8 and it accomodated well. We enjoyed watching the dolphins swim up and down the channel and the blue heron that enjoyed the back yard. Plenty of room in the house for us and additional guests with a kitchen full of lots of utensils and appliances. The pool was great for the kids and good size to really be fun in. Very easy to get to the Banana River with the kayaks and boat we had, just steps from the back door, with some decent fishing very close. We would use this house again.

Owner response:i am glad this family was able to have quality time with their great grandma in our home. i am glad they all were able to enjoy many different activitiess with her. they were great guests and hope they may cherish many more vacationing years with their family.

Best of both worlds

Do we or don't we stay right on the beach? We chose this wonderful option and had the best of both worlds...the sand and the grass as well as the ocean and the pool. But our experience and enjoyment was by far the best on Banana river. Our yearly reunion with our two adult children, their spouses and the four grandchildren was one of the best yet. The pool provided hours of fun; even after returning from the 15 minute drive from our outings on the beach. We fished from the dock and all claimed the biggest catch; we rented a pontoon boat for a day and enjoyed a picnic lunch on one of the islands, we never tired of watching the daily parade of the dolphins that sped past the dock as they chased their next meal, we captured many pictures of the great blue heron that magically appeared whenever we got the fishing poles out and during it all we agreed that it was the best week...ever. The house is everything and more. One day, there were 20 of us for an even larger family reunion and it never felt crowded. That day provided photos that will be cherished for years. Choosing which colorful bedroom for was one of our hardest decisions all week. The kitchen was a dream to work in and had appliances that I wish I had in my own home. I loved my morning coffee sitting out on the deck while watching the awesome sunrise and we all gathered there in the early evening to enjoy a wonderful breeze. The Hendersons have thought of everything to make any family have a most memorable week. We lacked for nothing and will be forever grateful for all that was gained during our stay in their home. My son-in-law was especially trilled to find out that a world class wind surfer was right down the street and was available to give a lesson and the two youngest granchildren were trilled that Disney was just an hour away. And at the end of the week, we were all trilled that enough fish had been caught to provide us with a delicious fish fry. The week far exceeded my expectations...which were very high to start with. I am most grateful for having the week to enjoy my family all under one roof.

Owner response:I am lost for words. This review brought tears to my eyes to know that this family not only expierienced but has expressed to us the happiness they felt while staying at our property. Thats all i wish for from my guests. I want them to experience what I have when I stay here. Its most enjoyable and relaxing. It was a pleaseure to meet this family and my daughter and myself loved the opportunity to speak with them. They took very well care of the house and you would of never known a large family had stayed here. I hope our paths cross again someday and Thank You!

Great vacation

We spent six wonderful weeks at the house and had family and friends visit. Everyone had a wonderful time. We really enjoyed the wildlife experience most of all. There were dolphins fishing righ off the dock every day. Manatees swam by, pelicans dived right by the dock, and a great blue heron spent a great amount of time on the dock even when we were right there. We also lucky enough to see a rocket launch from the house and that was great. The house was very comfortable for us and our guests and the owners were really great people. The house is convenient to cocoa beach, port canaveral, and cocoa village and many nature preserves.

Owner response:It was a pleasure to have this family in my home. They were happy and complimentive. They expressed the same joys that i like to share with my renters. Our home was very well taken care of. We did not like seeing them leave. I hope they return again.

Great Rental

Guest: Ann (Longmont, Colorado)
Date of Stay: 11/06/11 Review Submitted: 11/30/11

This home is exactly as advertised. We had 8 adults, the youngest was 51 years old, and everybody wanted their space. The 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms are upstairs with everything else downstairs (including a powder room). It was nice that the late sleepers could sleep in and the early risers could get up and start their day. We really liked eating breakfast on the screened-in patio out back; watching the day break and the dolphins swimming by. The house was centrally located for our trips to Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral, and the Kennedy Space Center. The neighborhood is very quiet. Really enjoyed our stay.

A great vacation rental!

Guest: Emily (Dayton, Ohio)
Date of Stay: 07/31/11 Review Submitted: 08/09/11

Our family had a great time staying at this home. We found it to be very clean and very nicely decorated. It was well stocked with everything that we needed. We spent most of our time in the pool, which really is as big as it looks! There were plenty of water toys for the kids, which was great. For us, it was the perfect location…a short drive to all sorts of attractions, restaurants/shopping and to the beach, but private (which was just what we were looking for)! We have a small family, with just two young children, but commented several times that we should visit again and bring the extended family (it is very large and can easily accommodate a large group without everyone having to share space. It has 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths). The owners were great to work with. We would highly recommend this rental home. If our travels take us to the area in the future, we will definitely try to book here!

Great for family vacations

Guest: Larry (Orlando, FL)
Date of Stay: 07/24/11 Review Submitted: 08/03/11

We selected this spacious home for our annual family reunion with all 14 children and grandchildren. We needed 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. It was close enough to the beach and to Cape Canaveral for enjoyable outings daily. And due to the extremely hot weather, the large swimming pool (large and deep enough for our senior high water polo team members to keep in practice) was a great asset. Fishing off the boat dock, catching over 25 fish, delighted all for the family, as did the canoe rides and dolphin sightings. We highly recommend this beautifully decorated, well furnished, and comfortable home. Susan and Randy provide a perfect place for a large group.

A Perfect Anniversary Celebration

Guest: Dag (N. Manchester, Indiana, USA)
Date of Stay: 12/21/10 Review Submitted: 01/13/11

To celebrate our 50th anniversary, my husband and I wanted a house in a warm, safe and pleasant place, large enough to accommodate comfortably ourselves, our four children and their spouses, and our five grandchildren, ranging in age from seven to two. Because we are a family that loves boating, fishing, and swimming, the location on the water, with a pool, was very attractive to us. We also like the location of a dead-end street, that made playing in the front year, with the many toys provided by the owners, fun and safe for young children. We were concerned that between the house and the canal at the back of the house there was only a slender strip of grass. For that reason, when the children were near the canal and the pool, we required them to wear life preservers and to be carefully supervised. Our fearless toddlers enjoyed riding in the canoe provided by the owners and fishing from the dock, and our two-year-old was very excited when he caught a fish. The house was perfect for us. The large, well-appointed kitchen made it easy for us to prepare large, elaborate meals. There was room to serve 15 people at several tables, including a small table for the four toddlers. The house is well-provided with large, wall-mounted flat screen TV's, with DVD players; mostly they kept the children happy with episodes of "Wonder Pets." We did have warm enough weather to enjoy the beach and even for the bravest members of our party to take dips in the pool However, during a record-breaking cold snap, we appreciated the efficient central heating system. Nearby there were attractions the children enjoyed: Cocoa Beach, The Dinosaur Store, and the Brevard Zoo. Two families went to the Space Center, but found the long lines difficult for the children to endure. We enjoyed dining with the children on the Cocoa Beach Pier. Adults found Merritt's Table a good choice.

Amazing!

We organized a large group of 15 people to all live together in this house for a week waiting for the STS133 Shuttle launch. While the launch was delayed over and over we all had an incredible time hanging out at the house and in the surrounding areas. This house is big, well equipped to handle large groups, centrally located, and great for BBQs and pool lounging. We cannot express how amazing this week was, and how grateful we are for the opportunity to stay here. We WILL be back.

Wonderful Vacation Home

Guest: Candace (Clayton, NC)
Date of Stay: 09/16/10 Review Submitted: 10/12/10

We are a family of 7 and the Henderson's home in Merritt Island was the perfect getaway for us. We have 5 kids (4 teenagers) and they all had a blast. Inside the home is beautiful, spacious, and we loved the kitchen. Not only was it large, but it was well-stocked with a large variety of pots, pans, baking & cooking utensils. The upstairs screened porch off the master bedroom not only had beautiful views, but was a relaxing place to hang out and drink our morning coffee. The home was clean, and beautifully decorated. The grounds are just gorgeous and we spent most of our time out by the pool, fishing off the dock, and watching for manatee and dolphins. The kids also enjoyed rowing out and exploring the Banana River. We highly recommend this home and hope to return!

My husband and I with our 15 year old son and 12 year old daughter, had an awesome 2 weeks at this practical and comfortable home. The pool was as large as it looks and was well used. The kids loved having their own bedroom and TV and the master bedroom was very comfortable. We visited various theme parks, all within 45 minutes from the house. Everything was conveniently nearby and we loved "Fishlips" restaurant!

Our vacation

We had such a great time during our stay at the Henderson's rental house. Every day, we watched the dolphins swim in the canal and sited manatee's a couple of times. We had two teenage boys who never got bored. With the pool, our Waverunner parked at the dock for rides on the Banana River, and fishing every night, they had a great time. We even found two skateboard parks in the area which they enjoyed while my husband and I enjoyed some alone time. A few minutes drive to Cocoa beach (beach service available at the pier and at the end of the 520). Just down the street from the house were plenty of restaurants and stores for every need. Even a mall, right on the island. The house was great and the water views were awesome! We will be back!

This vacation rental home is so beautiful. All rooms are tastefully decorated in Florida decor. Very large kitchen and the views from the Master Bedroom are spectacular overlooking the pool and in the distance the cruise ships docked at Port Canaveral. The location of the home is convenient to 528 and minutes to Cocoa Beach. We highly recommend this rental home to anyone considering a vacation in this area. The owners were wonderful to deal with and went beyond our expectations to ensure we were comfortable and satisfied. We definitely would rent this home again.

Located on a quiet culdesac this home was the perfect rental for our group of 4 couples. The kitchen/dining/family room was large enough for all of us. The remodel of the 2nd floor is very nice and we selected this home because 4 of 5 the bedrooms had king/queen size beds. The driveway and garage was perfect for storing our 35 foot toy hauler and the motorcycles for bike week. We saw dolphins swimming nearly every morning during our 7 day stay. The pool area and view of the river was amazing - especially enjoyable were the sunrises which were easily viewed from the upper balcony sun room. We would definitely consider this rental again in the future!
