Our charming New Mexican home is located on two gorgeous acres snuggled in the foothills of El Salto Mountain. Apples, wild plums, currants and choke cherries, along with numerous wild rose bushes, abound on our land. The silence can be profound. Every window is like a landscape painting. The beauty here is unequaled. Our home is comfortable and attractive. The maximum number of occupants we can accomodate is two.
Our location is ideal. We are just a half mile from Arroyo Seco where you will find charming shops and galleries and several delightful restaurants. World class alpine skiing and phenomenal hiking is just 15 minutes away. Also 15 minutes away is the Rio Grande Gorge and town of Taos. Taos is an artists Mecca. It has a rich and diverse cultural and artistic history. The 400 year old Taos Pueblo is the oldest continuously inhabited dwelling in the country. For those so inclined, the Pueblo has a casino in the vicinity and there is a variety of night life.

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1999
My husband and I are semi-retired. On occasion we remodel homes and rental property for sale. We enjoy hiking and cross country skiing. We have just begun to do some traveling. We are avid readers and interested in many topics. We are the parents of a son who is currently in graduate school.
Why the Owner Chose Arroyo Seco
Years ago our spirits were captured by the area and compelled to find land and build on it. We are continually amazed by the great natural beauty of Taos and the internal silence it cultivates. We love the community of people, its diversity and arts. We are very active outdoors. It has been the perfect escape from Albuquerque for us as it is close by for a long weekend. We love the variety of things to do when we choose. Often we choose simply the spaciousness of mind to do nothing. You'll be surprised by the magic of Taos when you let what happens just come up!
The Unique Benefits of this House
Our home is unique for its location and phenomenal beauty. Some people call Taos one of the world's power points, and, while that is something of a mystery to me, I recognize it has transformative effects on us when we are visiting. Our home is relatively new. It is easy and well equipped.

We stayed here in early September and the house and property exceeded our expectations! The house is charming and cozy. The morning views from the upstairs bedrooms make you want to stay in bed and gaze out of the windows at the northern New Mexico mountains and mesa. The location feels secluded with surrounding trees, plus I loved hearing the horses in nearby pastures, and the frogs(!) at night. Looking forward to coming back in the spring and summer to experience the wild roses and fruit trees.

I was fortunate enough to spend 3 months in this lovely house. It has ALL the amenities you may want (except Internet, but the Taos Cow 3/4 miles away in Arroyo Seco has free wi-fi). The house is comfortable, private, and quiet. My stay was in the winter; travel to Taos Ski Valley is quick - about 15 minutes. Time to the town of Taos is also about 15 minutes. Arroyo Seco has a good Japanese restaurant, and you're also close to Sabrosa's for fancy dining if you'd like it. Arroyo Seco has a natural foods market, so you don't have to go into Taos if you don't want to. The owners of the home are great to deal with. I highly recommend this home for a weekend, week, or longer. Best for a couple, or a couple plus one (or maybe 2-3 friends). I hope to stay here for a long weekend in the summer, as the property has a huge field of wild roses, and is likely gorgeous.
