great place to get away

Had a great time staying, relaxing and fishing on the Edisto River. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to get away and enjoy nature. The only bad thing about the experience is that we had to leave. Great house!

Stunning view

The property is conveniently situated to hwy but secluded with a remote feel. Stunning views of the river. Needs a thorough cleaning and some updating to be really exceptional. Too much dust, spiderwebs and bugs with 70's genre appliances to be a real find. The property itself is heavily wooded and beautifully built on pole beams with glass in a unique locations. Just needs TLC.

Serene setting in an interesting and remarkable home

This is a fascinating home with a sensational setting! Quiet, beautiful and remote location. The owner is readily available and responsive to questions. I thoroughly enjoyed the surroundings and the unique attributes of the home and outdoor areas. I look forward to visiting again! Probably not a good choice for those who have high end demands and need state of the art electronics. This place is for nature lovers and people looking for a calming retreat. Also, I would not recommend small children for this setting due to the issues cited by owner.

Very Private Getaway

My husband and I stayed at Wild Bluff last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were visiting family and needed a private retreat close by. It is truly a treehouse and allows beautiful views of the river that are particularly beautiful at sunrise. I especially liked the laid back atmosphere of the place. We will be back!!

Perfect Getaway

We had the best time this past weekend at Wild Bluff. Everything here is perfect- from the amazing architecture to breathtaking sunset views. We were looking for a break from the city and we found it. We brought our two dogs and they loved playing in the river. The private dock goes right into the cool, calm waters of the Edisto. There are a few deeper swimming holes but when we were there the water was at waist height or lower out towards the middle of the river-perfect!. We saw some beautiful wildlife and relaxed on our tubes while floating the river. We will absolutely return to Wild Bluff soon. This place really is a hidden treasure.

Rustic Getaway

Guest: Kylan (South Carolina)

If you are looking for a quiet place away from civilization and modern technology, this is the place for you. The cabin is very rustic with amazing views. We felt as though we were staying in an adult tree house. The home is completely open with no curtains or walls to obstruct views. Would be travelers should heed owner's warning regarding small children. I would not recommend this home for folks with children under the age of 12. There are steep gullies and a narrow pathway to the dock that overhangs a ravine which is only railed on one side. In addition inside the house, you have a narrow spiral stair case and lots of glass doors that open to allow air in. Once the glass doors are open, the only things seperating you from the water are thin screens and trees. We had a wonderful time and will likely go again.

We had a great time tubing down the river and sitting on the screened porch and dock. Very relaxing and comfy. Did not want to go home!

Pure Relaxation!

I had a wonderful and relaxing stay here. It is a beautiful setting in the trees overlooking the river. The way the house is positioned on a bluff affords a panoramic view of river and woods. Great kayaking (I covered 25 miles from Green Pond to Mars Oldfield landing in two trips). I definitely want to return!!

There is no place like it. You can't beat staying in Robert Marvin's hidden log cabin on the banks of the longest and largest river system completely contained by the borders of South Carolina. Make sure you bring your "river rat" so you can enjoy tubing the Edisto. If you want a get-away, this is where you should be. It is quiet & peaceful with all the outdoor amenities including plenty of shooting stars (only if you dare to venture down the long boardwalk to the dock).

Wild Bluff is a fantastic getaway! Peaceful, like being in a treehouse right above the river's edge. Views from all directions of forest and river. Rustic. No carpet, no big screen TV. Compact kitchen and bath; designed for the smallest footprint on this incredible site. A place you'll never want to leave.
