We highly recommend staying here, it is a wonderful location for exploring this part of the island, & has everything needed to make your stay easy & comfortable. Amanda & Debby were awesome to work with. We would happily stay here again if we get the chance. Don't see this area in one day, you are really missing out if you don't stay longer, & this was the perfect place to stay to do it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

This is much more of a house than a cottage-very well appointed and quite nice with upscale appliances and nice dishes. We happened to be visiting during a very rainy time in late February and the small river next to the house rose dramatically with the flash flooding coming down from the high country. We enjoyed the views of flowers and lush tropical plants from our windows. I loved soaking in the deep tub in rainwater that's supplied to the house. The owner, Amanda, did everything possible to make our stay comfortable. The house is clean and the pictures are very accurate. Mahalo Amanda!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Aloha Susan, it sure was exciting to meet you both and to enjoy the senses of the river roar! I hope you captured many memories & are now enjoying them on your beautiful farm back home. All the best, Amanda

After a day of geocaching and sight-seeing along the Hana Road, we finally came to our destination. It was more than we expected -- we'll furnished and delightfully appointed. As we missed getting to the recommended Thai restaurant for dinner, we found our way to the Hasegawa General Store for some dinner fixings and name back to the "cottage" for dinner. Worked just fine. My wife and I spent a week here in the nice cottage. The cottage is just past Nahiku road on the Hana Highway -about 6 miles from Hana. It is well situated to explore te Hana area. We also went to 7 sacred pools twice from here and the venus pool(highly recommend). We loved red sand beach and Waimanapnapa Park. It is well equipped and we enjoyed cooking our meals here. There is TV,movies, internet, free long distance here.We had a great Pizza cooked in an outdoor oven at a roadside side banana bread stand about 3 miles away at the welcome to Hana sign. We used the beach chairs many times at Hamoa bay and Koki beach. The property is very quiet at night and has a jungle feel to it. The stream was dry when we were there. Had a problem with the garburator and Amanda took care of it right away. Amanda was very nice to deal with and we wish we could have met her. Good value here. Mahalo Amanda.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Many thanks Amanda, for making your beautiful paradise within paradise available. Even better than described, exceeding our expectations - on first vacay without children. We'd hoped for an in the jungle-with-comforts-of-home experience and found exactly that - plus great food, friendly and welcoming Hana-ites and incredible fruit. We already look forward to next trip. Giving you Thanks, this Thanksgiving Weekend; Kathy and Marvin from Toronto CanadaRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

I booked this place as a sleepover spot instead of driving back the same day on our Road to Hana exursion. We arrived around 4p after a great drive and found this place to be the perfect end to a perfect day. The place was very clean with newer appliances and ammenities. The location was perfect...it had a view of the ocean in the front and a view of the tropical flowers in the back. We actually went next door and took a quick tour of the tropical flower plantation. The cottage was the perfect size for the four of us (my wife and 2 kids). The kids loved exploring the grounds. The owener was very helpful and easy to work with. Highly reccommend this place!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is a great treehouse of a place. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Hana area. What I liked: view from the balconies, close to the little fruit/banana bread stand at the entry of the driveway, privacy/quiet, common items available in pantry and bathroom closet (e.g., I had a headache and was thankful there was ibruprofen for guests!), wi-fi, seeing the geckos (outside on the screen) eat insects, feel/look of the cottage. What I didn't like: the only minor thing I can think of is that there were ants inside the cottage. I suspect this is quite typical of Hana as it's very tropical.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Aloha Kate... It is wonderful to know you enjoyed your stay! Being in the East Maui area we try to keep misc. items on hand "just in case" and am glad the ibruprofen was there for you to help:) Also, your kind words and helpful feedback is greatly appreciated. Re: ants; the cottage is serviced quarterly for pest treatment so I suspect maybe some hitched a ride back from the beach on a towel or cooler with a previous guest? Since then we made sure to check and haven't seen any signs of them... also got the "all clear" from our recent guests. Besides that, we hope all is well for you there in Ontario and please keep in touch next time you're on Maui! Sincerely, Amanda, Kimo & Family

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and had a perfect time in Hana. Very secluded and peaceful. The cottage was very comfortable and very well maintained. We took day trips to the lovely beaches and to the 7 sacred pools. Don't miss the Thai food in Hana. It was the best food on our entire 9 days on Maui. Very nice place to stay if you are looking to get away from the tourist areas and enjoy the peace and quiet of the island. And, don't miss the stars at night.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My wife and I spent a week at the cottage and had a wonderful time. It has everything that you could need to have a comfortable stay and is very roomy for two. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you have more than 3 at most 4 people in your party but the bed in the bedroom is one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in!! The only real drawback is the location, which we found to be wonderful and peaceful, but it is somewhat removed from much of the things of interest on the island. However, you will still enjoy the eastern side of the island, and I actually began to enjoy regularly traversing the Hana Highway during the course of the week! If you stay here make sure you spend some time in Hana at Waianapanapa State Park and at Red Sand Beach they are must sees on this side of the island.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
