Steinhatchee is a small fishing village in the Big Bend area of Florida known for the excellent summertime scalloping and outstanding wintertime fishing for trout, redfish, sea bass, grouper and more. “Paradise” at Steinhatchee Landing Resort is just that, a beautiful paradise home for vacationing, fishing, scalloping, or just taking a break from the norm. It’s a perfect getaway for any reason. 2009 was the best scallop season in 15 years…..we actually had a blast with our children, grandchildren and friends, going out in the boat scalloping and then relaxing on the sand bar looking for sand dollars. Our trips to Steinhatchee Landing began in 1992 when our children were small…..what great memories we share, and now we are bringing our grandchildren to share the same experiences.
Paradise is a three year old home hosting all modern appliances and amenities. The kitchen is fully equipped and has beautiful granite counter tops. Washer and dryer, two TV=E 2s with CD and VCR compatibility, and stereo are also provided in the home. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king bed and opens up to the screen porch with a view of the Steinhatchee River. Also in the master is a Jacuzzi tub for two and a private bath. The guest bedroom has two queen beds and a shared bathroom on the second floor. For extra guests, a futon is provided on the first floor. Hard wood floors from a cotton gin in Georgia grace the entire home, making it very comfortable with the feeling of home. The first floor of the home is a dining area, a large kitchen, living area, lanai, and a futon which is great for the non-TV watcher, a great place to just relax with a good book. Linens and towels are provided for use during your stay.
What a wonderful way to reconnect with “Old Florida”. Nestled in the Landing with a beautiful community area in the back of the house, it’s great for a group or just to grill for a family. Steinhatchee Landing has a 55 foot pool, exercise room, sauna and spa. You may also rent canoes, kayaks, and bikes. Tennis and basketball courts are also a popular spot at the Landing. Can’t forget to mention our favorites, Ellie Mae and Jethro, our resident donkeys who love apples, carrots and peppermints. The petting zoo is also a big hit with goats, chickens, ducks and rabbits.
For our boaters and fishermen, boat dockage is available right at the Landing.

Year Purchased: 2006
Dennis and Doris Brinkman. We live in Tavares, Florida in a rural community, near where we both grew up. We began visiting Steinhatchee Landing in 1992 and after our children were grown and out of college, we were fortunate enough to purchase a home at the Landing. We fish, scallop and boat together. We are semi retired and are trying to do some traveling and spend time with family and friends.

The Unique Benefits of this House
Relaxing. The house is very comfortable and relaxing itself. There may have been one or two "girls weekends" where we spend time together reminiscing over pictures of the past and making new ones. It's a wonderful opportunity to spend time alone or with family and friends. The grounds are landscaped beautifully with walkways, koi ponds, sitting gazebos, wedding chapel, outdoor fire pits, and a community help-yourself garden.
