Beautiful new house with views of Long Island Sound from two floors. Short walk to the beach.
Views, views, views from large windows and the wrap-around deck and private balcony.
Kitchen with granite counters, new appliances- refrigerator, dishwasher, range, microwave, toaster oven, blender, food processor, coffee maker, espresso/latte machine, garbage disposal, and wine cooler. Large, sunny dining space.
Barbeque grill, deck furniture and beach chairs. Beach toys and equipment for babies and kids of all ages make this a vacation haven for families.
Washer and dryer. 3 HDTV TVs VCR & DVD player,cable and wireless Internet. Music from our system or your iPod to ceiling speakers in all first floor rooms. The house has three bedrooms, two queen beds and two twin beds plus a den for sleeping and three bathrooms. The master bedroom has a private balcony for watching the sun rise over the water or relaxing at the end of the day. The private bathroom has a jetted tub and a shower.
Open windows and bedroom ceiling fans bring in the wonderful night air that lulls you to sleep with the sound of the ocean nearby.
Fireplace in the living room for cozy winter getaways with plenty of firewood.
Easy drives to New England's attractions all year around. Good restaurants nearby that also deliver to Haven Retreat.
Close to Yale University and the University of West Haven, One and one-half hour drive from New York City. Accessible by train to Milford or New Haven train stations with a short taxi ride to Haven Retreat. Fly to New York Airports -- JFK, LaGuardia, White Plains and to Hartford, CT. All within a 2-hour drive. Nearby bus stops for local buses to go all over the area. Easy drive to many New England attractions. Books and brochures in the house to help plan day trips.
Children are welcome. Baby crib, baby gates and plenty of sippy cups plus a youth chair and a baby seat are available upon request. A wagon and beach toys as well as a beach umbrella for kids of all ages.

The home is beautifully decorated and our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Haven Retreat. The property owner was very accomodating and easy to work with. We had 8 people which required adult use of the sleeper sofa in the study. It was ther most comfortable sleeper I've ever been in. What a great place to stay! When we walked into this house, we were immediately struck by how this was a comfortable home. It's clean newness was evident, with the hardwood floors, nice furnishings, and nice colors. We used the kitchen for usually one meal a day but we commented that it was so complete one could fix a big family holiday meal. We opened the bedroom windows at night so we could hear the sound of the waves from Long Island Sound not far away. The next morning we could see the sun rising over the water. It's a pleasant quiet neighborhood. The house is well maintained both inside and out. The deck goes around 2 sides of the house from the kitchen dining area around the front living room with plenty of space to sit outside and relax.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We wanted a comfortable house on the water between New York City and Boston... and we only wanted it for four nights - peak season. It looked to be impossible until we found this lovely home. The beach is a one block walk - but it is huge, clean, and on the bay so that our 5 and 3 year old daughters could play to their hearts' content. The kitchen is well stocked and the large wooden table and chairs on the outdoor deck made dining special for city dwellers. Nice big table inside for rainy days too - which we had. Owner works to make everything easy - a big help!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

This rental provided the bedrooms, views, cooking/eating areas & laundry that one does not get at hotels. The kitchen provided everything you could possibly need to cook any type of meal. A soak in the jet tub after a day on the Appalachian Trail was welcome. The beach is a short one block away and there are plenty of Italian eateries within a short drive. This home is in a densely packed residential neighborhood, but the lovely balcony off of the master bedroom provides the privacy one might appreciate while enjoying the view in their loungewear.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, girls getaway.
