Property description

Spencer's Creek Landing was one of the finest and most popular restaurants in the area for weddings and fine dining. It was converted from a home to a restaurant in the early eighties and then converted back to a home approximately three years ago. It's main appeal was its location on the east shore of torch lake which gave its patrons many memorable sunsets. Today, we try to uphold the original tradition of a fine establishment in a superb setting.

Year Purchased: 1993

About the owner: Retired real estate broker who has lived on torch lake since 1965. Purchased the property as a working fine dining restaurant. Retired the property as a restaurant in 2005 and converted to its original status as a Victorian home built in the 1930's. The restaurant was a landmark on torch lake because of its stunning location and it seemed that it was more practicable for me to rent the property on a short term basis (summers) rather than on an annual basis. My wife of 43 years operates a very unique and successful ladies' store two doors away at 9142 Helena Rd.

Why the Owner Chose Alden:
We originally purchased the property as an investment,primarily because of its location on torch lake and its unique setting.

We have never spent an evening in the property, but use it as a guest house for friends. The property was remodeled and redecorated in 2005. As the property is located in the town of Alden,it offers easy access to the shopping district if you walk out the front door, and total privacy when confined to the rear deck and grounds.If you have never seen Torch Lake, you are in for a pleasant surprise. 'Torch' was ranked by National Geographic as the third most beautiful lake in the world because of its color and clarity. I like to refer to Alden as the town that time forgot as it is a step back in time. The main street is only 2 blocks long yet boasts of some of the most unique shops in the area.
