Great vacation rental!

Guest: Corinne (Calgary, Alberta)
Date of Stay: 03/14/12 Review Submitted: 05/05/12

We had the opportunity to stay in this luxurious home for 6 weeks. From the backyard putting green to the steam bath to the playground to the wine cellar to the kitchen gadgets, there is not much lacking with this property. The location is great for sight-seeing, hiking, or just hanging out. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance including the Oak Creek Golf and Country Club which probably has the best breakfast in the area for the price. The only negative thing about the house as previously mentioned by another review is that there is no AT&T cell reception there (also in most of Oak Creek and parts of Sedona) but if you have a smart phone it would work fine. Wireless internet reception is great as well as what seems to be dozens of television channels and DVD's to watch. It is very quiet and dark at night time and viewing the night sky through the telescope was amazing! We would recommend this vacation home to both small and large parties as there is plenty of room for everyone.

Great vacation experience

This was our first experience renting a home for a vacation. Everything worked out so well that we are anxious to do it again. Shane was great about communication and very helpful sharing his knowledge of the Sedona area. The house and it's location were so beautiful. The neighborhood was quiet and plesant and the views awesome! We have already recommended this property to some friends. We hope we can come back some day.

Awesome!!!

Wow what a great house! We have two boys (5 and 3) and they were in heaven. They had their own room with toys and a big bathtub. It was wonderful letting them in the backyard and feeling completely safe. They loved playing on the playground and sandbox. Everything in the house is top quality. The steam shower is a MUST try. Feels like being in a spa every night. The house is closest to Bell Rock, but is only 15minutes to the other side of Sedona. Great location. I would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting a relaxing, quality getaway.

Relaxing Family Getaway

Guest: Eat, Cook, Travel (San Diego)
Date of Stay: 11/19/11 Review Submitted: 12/05/11

We spent Thanksgiving week at this lovely property with our two young children and my parents. It was ideal. There's a guest room with a queen bed and an adjacent bathroom, and a second master with two doubles, a crib, and an ensuite bathroom with a sunken spa tub. The master is enormous, with a fireplace, comfortable work area with large picture windows, and a large screen television if you're so inclined. The steam shower was treat on the two really cold mornings we had. The firepit in the backyard gave us a warm place for stargazing and roasting marshmallows. Everything at this property is top-of-the-line, and it's such a pleasure to cook in this kitchen, you may not want to go out. You can entertain yourself here quite well, but it's conveniently located to town if you want to venture out.

Beautiful Home in Oak Creek Village

Guest: Peggy (Seattle)
Date of Stay: 11/02/11 Review Submitted: 11/12/11

We had a wonderful visit at Shane and Hanna's home outside Sedona. It is a beautiful home with a great back yard with a big play structure for little ones. Plenty of room for our extended family with 3 spacious bathrooms and bedrooms. The home has a great kitchen and a large dining room table with room to seat 8 (or more) at table. The red rocks and beauty of this country are astounding! We hiked in beautiful Red Rock State Park a short drive from this centrally located home. We had a great trip to the Grand Canyon, covered with a light dusting of snow that made it perfect. We also made a trip to Jerome. Great views from this old mining town. We relaxed and enjoyed the gorgeous blue skies, red rocks and beauty all surrounding us. The house is conveniently located to Sedona and a short mile to a grocery store and restaurants. It has all the amenities to manage the needs of a family with children while away from home: washer, dryer, crib, double oven, microwave, dishwasher, wifi access, plus a great wine closet and steam shower. If you don't have a Verizon cell would recommend a phone card as there is not good cell coverage with AT &T. Don't know about other plans. It seems to be Verizon country. We would definitely return to this home and would recommend it to our friends and family. Shane was a generous and available host. Thank you Shane for all your help and your quick responses!

Owner response:I'm glad to hear that you all enjoyed your stay! AT&T is the only cell provider that I know of that does not work well in the home. We did have an AT&T mini tower installed in the home that works with the iPhone 4. I can easily add a phone number to the account to provide 3G speed in the home.

What a great week we had staying at this beautiful home! It was even better than the pictures and description. Extremely clean, welcoming. It was perfect for our two young boys, with plenty of space for the grandparents as well. Very spacious, steam shower very relaxing, wine room was fabulous as well. No complaints at all!

We stayed in this property for 5 days days and were completely happy with everything. The house is very well planned and every small detail is thought of! The master bathroom was amazing and the skylights added a very nice touch to the whole place. It is also located near bell rock and the sunrise view of the rocks were really beautiful. We would definitely recommend to our friends! Cheers! Geetika

Great property for grown ups and kids!

We stayed at the property during Spring Break and found it to be exactly as described in the listing and photos. My husband and I were very comfortable in the master suite and our boys loved the back yard. We used the wine room and Shane even left us a bottle of wine as a welcome gift. Shane and Hanna were courteous and professional. The short drive from the Village of Oak Creek into the center of Sedona was so beautiful (in both directions and at any time of day) We would definitely recommend this property to anyone interested in vacationing in Sedona. Our entire experience was lovely and we had a relaxing vacation (even with the kids ;) The Grand Canyon is about 2 hours away by car. There are lots of good restaurants and activities in the area. Restaurants we would recommend are: The Cowboy Club, The Blue Moon Cafe, Jose's Cafe, Desert Flour Bakery. Activities: Hiking any of the numerous trails - especially Bell Rock (your view from the master bedroom!) and Midgely Bridge (short hike down to Oak Creek), Tlaquepaque Arts Village, A Day in the West Jeep Tours, Jerome day trip (short drive south west of Sedona).

Great House for a Retreat with Friends!

Guest: Barbara (Connecticut)
Date of Stay: 01/19/11 Review Submitted: 02/08/11

We rented this home with another couple to use as our home base for exploring Sedona, the Red Rocks, and the Grand Canyon. We could not have asked for better accommodations. The house is beautiful, the master bath is like going to a spa, everything was immaculate and very user-friendly. We were very comfortable in the house and enjoyed being able to cook a few meals in when we were too tired to go out. The kitchen is very nicely equipped. I would definitely recommend this property. The owners were also very nice to work with and responsive to any of our questions.

This home is everything we wanted and more for our family vacation. It is a beautiful home in a quiet location, yet close to everything we wanted to see and do. The owners have done a marvelous job with the layout and decorating. With 4 children of various ages, we needed plenty of space. This home provided everyone in our family with plenty of space to be together, yet privacy (even from one another) if we wanted it! Our children loved the private and spacious backyard and breathtaking views! The owners were easy to work with and extremely helpful with their recommendations of things to see and do, restaurants to try, and helpful hints about enjoying Sedona and all that it has to offer! We would definitely choose this home again!

It was a pleasure doing business with Shane. He's very professional, a class act! The house is designed for comfort. The steam shower and jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom offer a great way to unwind after a day of hiking, sightseeing, shopping, etc. We loved the gourmet kitchen and never even thought of eating out. The wine cellar is truly remarkable. We bought the Murphy-Goode Sauvignon Blanc, a wine we have yet to try. It will be a nice reminder of our stay in Sedona. The area is spectacular. We hiked to the vortex at Bell Rock as well as the one at Cathedral Rock. It was very energizing. From the house, we were within minutes of interesting places to visit and fun things to do (train, hot air balloon, etc.). We highly recommend this property. It was perfect in every way!

We stayed at this home for our wedding week in Sedona in April 2010 (bride & groom, mother in law and two kids - aged 4 &5). Shane was incredibly helpful arranging the details of the stay and we found the house exactly as described - except more luxurious and nicer than the photos on VRBO give justice to. The home is spacious and beautifully appointed - every detail is seen to from nice artwork to a fantastic sound system you can hook your IPOD up to. The kitchen was truly a gourmet cooks treat. We cooked in every day and only ate out one time. The backyard and playground were perfect for the two kids - they had a blast. In the morning you have fantastic sunrise views of Cathedral rock and the fire pit was really nice in the evenings. Large patio doors allow you to "open up" the house to the backyard. The massive master suite spa tub and steam shower (big enough for 6 people, I suspect) allowed for lovely spa afternoons for my mom and I. We couldn't have found a better vacation home and can't wait to come back again. We will definitely be staying at this property in the future.

Although I don't live in Arizona, I've been going to Sedona every year or so for about 12 years. During my last stay (March 2010), my family and I stayed at this house. We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is in a quiet, pleasant neighborhood in Oak Creek Village. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Sedona, Oak Creek is the village just south of Sedona. I prefer to stay in Oak Creek actually, because it has easy access to many of the sights in Sedona proper but is less hectic. At night, there are no street lights so you get great star-gazing. The house is spacious and gorgeously decorated, with a Southwestern flavor. It is definitely a labor of love. The kitchen is beautiful, everything has high ceilings, the master bedroom is incredible (with an amazing bathroom). We had 5 adults staying very comfortably in the three bedrooms (there are also three full bathrooms). You have red rock views. I had to do a bit of work during my stay, and it was very nice to be able to work on the desk in the master bedroom while looking at the red rocks. The backyard is also very nice, and my other family members enjoyed it very much (kids will appreciate the slide). We cooked many of our own meals in the house, and found the kitchen a pleasure to cook in. I'm not into wine, but the wine room looked very enticing. If you're into energy centers and the like, the house is in a fantastic spot because it is 1 mile from Bell Rock, and about 2 miles from Red Rock Crossing, and nestled in the southwestern part of the valley that has the main vortices. If you're not into this kind of stuff, you'll still appreciate it because the area is so beautiful. If you're into hiking, you're also near the little used but beautiful hikes in the Turkey Creek area. Logistically, there were no problems. The owner was very professional and a pleasure to deal with, and the deposit check came promptly. There is a full grocery store very close by, as well as some good restaurants. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed a most wonderful relaxing week. The house is everything it is advertised to be and more—spacious, well appointed, views. It allows for wonderful family/friend time and still privacy. The steam room and jacuzzi are especially relaxing. Every day we went on a different hike—one more special than the next. Many nights we went to delicious restaurants—there are so many good ones to pick from. Shane was honest, accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. Thank you for making it possible to have such a wonderful, very needed vacation.

Stayed in the house for 6 nights from 12/21-12/27/09. Had a great time. The house is newly remodeled with upscale appliances and amenities, the kids loved the swings and slides in the back yard. We woke up to wonderful views of the Red Rocks dusted with snow. The owner is very friendly and responsive. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for upscale accommodations in the Sedona area.

We will be back! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us! The coffee, water, wine and welcome note were so thoughtful. We had the most wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, complete with a big turkey and all the fixings & your double oven was fantastic. I couldn't believe you had the perfect turkey pan complete with a rack! Our family truly enjoyed the bedrooms, steam room and jacuzzi tub. We were truly impressed with your wine cellar however my daughter from Phoenix had already stocked up for the week! We really enjoyed our stay in Sedona and thank you for making it so inviting.

My family and I stayed in this home a few months ago as soon as the owner had finished doing a complete, top-to-bottom in and out remodel. Everything in the house is gorgeous and tasteful. The kitchen, bath and bedrooms are new, top of the line and stunning. I could have stayed in the steam shower for a week, it was so relaxing. My son had a blast in the back yard, which is complete with a swing set, kids clubhouse and climbing obstacles. We love the outdoors and my wife loves to hike. Believe me, if you want beauty, quiet, fresh air, and to get away from it all, you can’t miss with this house and location. We’ve already got our trip for Sept. 2011 booked with the owner!

We had a wonderful stay in this home. This newly remodeled home is so comfortable and classy. It has the perfect look for the Sedona atmosphere. Every inch of the home looks brand new. We enjoyed the spacious back yard with privacy, fire pit, and the star gazing was a bonus. Very close to hiking and off-roading trails. We are looking forward to staying here again and again.

We had a great stay! House was aboslutely beautiful! Master suite like a five star hotel. We're not generally "wine people" but we LOVED the wine room! Plenty of room for another two couples in the house. Great location, as well. Red Rock views all around; just down the road from what we believe is the finest Italian Restaurant in the Sedona area (La Rustica), and very near Cathedral Rock hiking trails and Oak Creek access. Great back yard with fire pit, although we didn't use it. Will definitely stay again. Thank you!
