This simple but very comfortable vintage Hawaiian home is located on three-quarters of an acre of oceanfront property near the end of Anini Road. There's not another property like it!
Only two homes beyond this one. Very few cars venture to this beautiful protected sandy beach on Hawaii's longest reef. If simplicity and serenity are your goal, you've found the ideal spot. Many vacationers return year after year to enjoy this oft revisited vacation rental.
Renown for it's fishing and snorkeling, the water on one side of the beach is only four feet deep and slowly cascades to over a 100-foot depth on the other side. This beach is one of the safest and most protected along the North Shore of the island. A fringed reef runs the entire length of beach and is Hawaii's longest reef. Windsurfing abounds, but it's great for the kids as well

Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1949
This home has been in the same kama'aina family since it was built. It is a traditional Hawaiian "summer" home designed for extended family stays at the beach when the family lives elsewhere on the island, as we did. My father and grandfather were both doctors and we lived in Lihue near the hospital. We looked forward to our summer "vacations" at the beach and our stays at this home is one of my fondest memories.
Why the Owner Chose Kilauea
This is one of Kauai's loveliest and best protected beaches with white sand, wonderful swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and any other water or beach activities. The home is nearly at the end of the road and near a river mouth, which adds to the ambience.

My family and I stayed here for a week this summer. We love Anini Beach, but do not recommend staying in this house for several reasons. First, in terms of location, it's probably the least desirable. Because the house is located at the end of the road, it tends to get a lot of cars, tourists and locals. In fact, locals can camp on this beach which they did and completely blocked our view of the ocean. There are also a lot of people living just across the water, camping under the trees. The house had the bare minimum in supplies. I've rented NUMEROUS houses and I have NEVER rented a house that wasn't supplied with at least an entire place setting of dishes. This place had 3 coffee cups, 1 wine glass, few pans and very few cooking gadgets. The only positive thing I can say about this house is it was clean and quaint. We found the customer service to be very poor.
Owner response:Not everyone likes the same thing, and this person is one of the very few who don't love this property. The numerous guests who return year after year refute her judgment.
