It looks great right!, it is all about the outdoor space which is very pretty. The owner forgot we were coming! arriving in Seaside at 0930 and not able to check in until 4.00pm, we showed up and the place was dark. We hung out at Publix wondering whether to to go to the Watercolor Inn or not. The owner finally called us at 5.30pm. He managed to arrange for a friend to come and clean up while we cooked dinner. The grill outside was rusty/dirty and unusable, good job I did not buy steaks! The carriage house is tiny though nicely furnished, bed only average comfort. The pool and hot tub were not heated on arrival which I had paid for. Our first night was ruined. We have been back for nearly a month and no word from the owner, sure at the time he offered a free night added on but we had plans for somewhere else. I would have at least expected an apologetic note from the owner. This is a great property, though too many high end appliances and not enough basics, needs committed management and therefore I was not surprised to see it was for sale.

Owner response:My apologies to the tenants, Every effort was made to correct the situation. Arrival was not forgotten, the cleaning service that was normally used mistakenly was scheduled for the wrong day. Pool heating issue was secondary to programming issue. and was corrected that night by the pool tech. The tenants were also well aware of the brand new grill in the main courtyard. As for the size Its 750 sq feet which is over three times the size of the average hotel room and ample room for a couple. Several phone calls were made to contact the tenants to right the situation. This is the first complaint I have had about the property with over 100 prior guest. Hopefully the tenants enjoyed the area ,and the free day stay is still there for the taking with a guaranteed perfect stay. I have attempted to handle this in a civil respectful way, hopefully the tenants will give the property another shot in the future as its a great place to stay. I am always open to constructive criticism to improve the guest stay.

My wife and I contacted Eric on short notice and were impressed with the location and design of the carriage house. The main house sits off a quiet road (only a short 2 minute bike ride to the heart of downtown Seaside). The carriage house sits behind the main house which backs up to a few acres of quiet woods (from the road you would never know the carriage house existed, very private.) The beach bikes were handy as we enjoyed the casual ride down to the heart of Seaside. If you are looking for a little privacy but still get the full effect of Seaside, you definitely need to try this place out. We hope to stay in the main house sometime in the future with the rest of our family. Thanks again Eric.

Wonderful Vacation Spot - secluded from rest of family if needed

We rented the main house and the carriage house for a vacation for a family of 15. The Carriage House was a perfect place for the grandparents to have a bit of quiet while the children and grandchildren enjoyed the big house. The Carriage House has a nice bedroom and bath upstairs and a small kitchen, bar, and relaxing area downstairs. Everything was up to date and convenient. Plenty of room for two people with the possibility of sleeping two more on the couch if necessary. (See my separate review for the main house.) Plenty of on property parking for 4 cars, 5 minute walk to the beach and 10-15 minute walk into Seaside for vacation shopping and restaurants. We stayed the week of July 3, 2010 and were worried about oil on the beaches but we didn't see a drop in the water or on the beaches. A wonderful time was had by all.

Recommended for:Age 55+, romantic getaway.

Can't Get Any Better Than This!

After falling in love with Seaside FL, my husband (of almost 29 years) and I decided to try this jewel of a getaway through VRBO. Having stayed in Seaside proper, we were searching for a better deal online and thankfully saw this lovely carriage house just a short walk from the beach and the town. The owners provided bikes to ride about and we made several trips into town to eat and shop. What a glorious vacation retreat! The décor was stunning and so well kept; all the latest appliances and electronics were much appreciated. And the pool and hot tub were a great added bonus! We definitely give this rental five stars for better than we ever imagined and look forward to returning!

We spent the month of February at this incredible condo. If you want quaint don't book this-21st. century all the way plus all the comforts of home with gorgeous antique furniture. Close to everything including beach, shops, restaurants and incredible parades and events. Our yorkie Cricket was in Heaven as it was so quiet in a beautiful safe neighborhood-we had her off leash most of the time ! Eric was the perfect "landlord"-always there if you needed him. Of course we didn't need him much because this place is just-fantastic. We will be back. Loved every second and miss it already! Linda and Herb

We just returned from a week in The Carriage House and we gotta tell ya....it was pure BLISS!!! What a beautiful home Eric and Briana have! Very private, location, location, location...you can walk everywhere! Lucky, our precious Bichon-poo, had the best time ever. However he kept falling on the stairs cause he's not used to hard wood floors on stairs! Thank-you guys for sharing your beautiful home.
