This beautiful, cozy creekside cabin in the trees at the edge of Dorrington Meadow is the perfect place for a romantic getaway or a solitary retreat. The cabin has an updated kitchen and bath. There is a private deck overlooking the creek.
The cabin is about 5 minutes from Calaveras Big Trees State Park, 20 minutes from Bear Valley Ski resort and is a short drive to the historic gold rush towns of Murphys, Columbia, Angels Camp and San Andreas. There are several good restaurants in the area, and wine tasting is available at award winning local wineries. Area attractions include a variety of outdoor sports, caves and caverns, and several small historic museums.
Visitors should know what the cabin does NOT have:
There is no television reception (although there is a tv so you can watch movies) or high speed internet access (there is an internet cafe nearby- bring your own computer)
Most cell phones will not work in this location
Shower only, no tub
Due to severe fire danger, no fires are permitted indoors or out- no candles or incense, please

We very much enjoyed our stay at your lovely cottage. Everything seemed very new and fresh. Our favorite of several hikes was to Wheeler Lake from Sandy Meadow and up over the ridge and out at Woodchuck Basin (so we had to hitch a ride back to our car at Sandy Meadow). We also did a little wine tasting in Murphys and stopped in at the Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway celebration in Hermit Valley on Saturday. AND I watched your video of "When Harry Met Sally," which I had never seen except for the famous scene.

Just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful time staying in your cabin. It's a beautiful place, cozy yet spacious. An in a lovely setting. We will definitely be contacting you again because we want to come back for another stay, explore more of Big Trees and the Ebbets pass area.
